[Trailhead] Coords across the United States
Someone posted 50 sets of coords offering a prize for those who find the hidden card deck.

Is anyone out there tracking which ones have been found? I wish I had known about this yesterday as I drove passed 8 of those locations.

0 for 3 :(

As my friends and I were out and about today we stopped by a few of the locations to check them out and this is what we found.
Calhoun, GA - the exact GPS location was a small drainage pipe for runoff water beneath someone's driveway. I looked at both ends of the overgrown pipe and around neighboring poles, bushes, etc. but there was nothing to be found.
Byron, GA - the GPS coordinates were just off the road in a small overgrown ravine next to a truck stop. The area was littered with trash but none of it resembled or seemed to contain a playing card. Again, signs were checked although I did not check the base of the sign where the homeless man was sleeping. Smile
Nashville, TN - the address provided is used by an entire shopping center and a quick walk down the stores did not prove fruitful. The most prominent hit on Google was for a small restaurant in that shopping center so more time was focused there but again without luck.
I am still awaiting responses back from a couple other locations but so far it would appear that this is either a troll, someone beat us to all 3 locations or the cards are very well hidden. If I hear anything else back I will update this post.

Nothing in Jacksonville

Report in from Jacksonville says that there was nothing there but an empty bag stapled to a palm tree near the GPS coordinates. Not sure if it once contained a playing card or not but it's strange to have a bag on a tree. I'd still like to see any confirmation that this is for real before I attempt to find any more. Has anyone seen reports of a card being found at any of these locations?

Hello

Unfortunately I can't find any information of people investigating the spots.
So there is no confirmation of a found playing card at all...

I'd absolutely like to check some of the spots by myself, but unfortunately I live in Europe Smile

Well I'll keep documenting my efforts and those of my friends here then. The latest update is the one in the "LA Public Library LA." Since there is no library listed specifically by that name we went for the Los Angeles Public Library's Central Library first. The man at lost and found was most helpful but there was no sign of any playing card having been turned in. Tomorrow we will try some others.

The last time about a year ago there was a similar type game.
In that game better clues were given, Like; on the west side of the bushes near the tree. An occasional photograph of the area was also given.

This one has a location very near to the one in the other game off of the same large parking lot. There is a lot of foot traffic in this area and the location is 40 miles from my home. I am not ready to jump in the car with such weak information to go by for something that may or may not be there hidden with all of the litter under a quarter mile of bushes. Like I said the parking lot is big and it has a lot of bushes. The possibility of looking in the wrong area is high. There are restaurants there and a lot of foot traffic where people look at you funny messing around the cars too long and looking in the bushes for more than 5 min is risky without the cops being called.

These clues are very vague in a lot of cases and since no card has been found yet I'm not sure this is even for real. With that being said I did stop and get gas at Byron, GA again and went and checked the signs and area around where the homeless guy had been and there was no playing card.
I also had reports back from another 10 public libraries in Los Angeles and their lost-and-founds did not have any playing cards that had been turned in.
The final report today came back as negative for the location in Eastern Missouri.
It is looking less and less likely that this is going to go anywhere but I really liked the concept and was hopeful that it would.

I'm running out of friends to call...

I should hear back on the 2nd Colorado location tomorrow but searching around the restaurant at 950 Pearl St in Boulder was once again a fruitless endeavor.

I can check out the Houston location after the weekend, and may be able to get someone to check out the Austin location for me.
I'll let y'all know...

My wife and I went to the Houston location at the central library downtown. It was in the reference section of the library; I was about to lose it saying, "there's no way I'm checking all these books.". She pointed to a book on the history of books and said, "there's a book called, 'The Book' right there." Stroke of genius there, since the clue said to check the book, quite literally. We took it over to a table, flipped pages until we found a two page spread for illustration 201, and it had a face card taped to the page. I got photos and took the card.

So, I guess I am confirming that this hunt is legit.

I called the Austin location and the woman who answered said she didn't know anything about a playing card or a contest. It's a bar, so I suspect it's hard to find (or seen and tossed by a drunk patron). We're debating if we're going to bother to make the trip out there or not. It's a long way to go to come back empty-handed.

Can you please upload the pics here?
Is it a normal playing card or any further information on it?

Sure, I will this evening. They're on my phone so I need to move them over. I'll post the location photos and the back of the card so people can match them to the same set; I am assuming they are all from the same set. We got a high value card, so maybe we'll win by default?

The cards don't appear to be marked, which surprises me. I'm glad I took its picture in the book to authenticate the find to the PM/referee.

We decided against doing the Austin drop this weekend. Even Hey Cupcake! didn't convince her otherwise, but we have stuff to do before the work week. We may go next weekend if this is still going on then and no one had claimed it. If they have, maybe I can get her to go to Baton Rouge and Nawlins.
