[Trailhead/Puzzletrail] Bewildered Temperament of email and poetry Received an email last name from an aSPLAT bewilderedtemperament.com with only the text:
Quote:
As certain as the seasons in the wood
The hours will fade what sunshine never could
No matter tone or script or rhyme or score
Some lessons we'll repeat forever more
The thrill of fortune gained without a cost
Can leave the strongest head alone and lost
Allow me to recount this tale to you
Of things we should and things we must not do
Not pointing anywhere I visited bewilderedtemperament.com at which you'll find a little more poetry.
There a 2nd verse is shown:
Quote:
The greatest little creature I have known
Will put anothers life before its own
I know of one who spites this noble goal
And I intend to save his mortal soul
If you can call yourself a likely friend
Theres more, and I implore you to attend
Hope and vengeance served in equal parts
Enter and Ill tell you how it starts
Followed by some firefly-like fluttering dots.
Neatly designed, I just use my long exposure app to capture light trails, by hand, and sure enough it worked.
The hint pointed to
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
http://bewilderedtemperament.com/woods
But that's where I gave up for the night (it was late ;P)
Another verse added to the poem:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Before we meet and see what we might find
I will not toil in a stony mind
My tale is one of change in form and heart
You must change too if you will play a part
If you're the type who willingly will bend
Then find me here and I shall call you "Friend"
My ally's one who lives its life with care
So raise your gaze, for fate is in the air!
Additionally,
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
What looks to be the top of the Orion constellation in the stars in the background image up top.
I tried a few names and words related to the possible hint, but came up empty handed.
That's it, so far. Anyone else get this email? Or am I alone?

I'm seeing hits for 4chan but haven't tracked down a page yet. Also a posting on craigslist: LINK .

I was perhaps thinking that with friend being quoted and the use of the word ally. This perhaps is important?
I believe The Bruce is correct, when you "bend" the constellation is that of Orion.
Perhaps the tale of Orion is important here? The tale of friends Artemis and Orion. http://people.ucsc.edu/~rosewood/writing/tales/orion.htm
It is very beautiful poem.
I frequent the 4chan boards also but could not find much links to anything solid Mr Toasty.
I was also thinking perhaps the email contact from the email The Bruce received and the email from the Craigslist is different? Perhaps we should contact?.

There's no hints in the code of the page either, or so I've seen. Not that I expected it, really. But "So raise your gaze, for fate is in the air!" makes me think that there's something to do with the constellation we see up at the top of that webpage. Just a hunch there, really.

Good idea. I'm going to try emailing both of them. See if I can get a back and forth going on.

I notice also on Craigslist they use the abbreviation W4M
Websites tell me this means Woman looking for Man?
It seems unusual to use such abbreviation when listing a poem.
Again you could link this with the tale of Artemis and Orion?
I also send emails to both address listed.
AH
I receive reply! My email to them say
Quote:
The poem is very beautiful
I was perhaps wondering if you are refering to the tale of Artemis and Orion?
They reply with:
Quote:
I recognize those names from long ago
They seem to me some souls I used to know
My vows are strong; my memory is weak
What more can you bestow upon me? Speak!

A very poetic PM!
Those stars in Orion look "placed" since all other stars and objects in that image are slightly double exposed.

FYI, don't look for either Artemis or Orion on Wikipedia right now. They've both been changed into "Nicolas Cage."

I'll say! I sent them a rhyming message, and they responded right back in kind saying I put them "at ease". I'll post it here, although I honestly didn't get any good information out of this rhyming entity just yet.
My Initial Hello:
Quote:
Greetings, not woe
to one I would know!
Your attention I seek
for my curiosity is piqued!
And then their response:
Quote:
I'll speak with you in earnest if you please
There's something in your tone that brings me ease
I wonder if you understand my plight
And if you'll find me in the woods one night?
I'd say rhyming seemed to be the best way to get their attention, but I see that other people have made plenty of progress without doing that. I'm gonna keep it up, however, because it's fun!
Edit: That constellation in the most recent link: That's part of the constellation of Orion the Hunter, for anyone who doesn't already know that. I believe that's his Shield, although in some cases people have also referred to it as his Bow.
Here's a link with decent information on this constellation: http://amazing-space.stsci.edu/news/archive/2006/01/ill-01.php

It seems this is a change the URL code game?
In keeping with theme I will try some words.
I receive the reply from them saying
Quote:
There's something to this tale that I recall.
My stars. I don't know how to take it all.

Hmm, what to do on that page? My first thought was first letters of constellations but after looking more closely at what is there I don't see anything obvious in that department. Essentially 10 separate sections on that page, so we could simply count the stars in each cluster, which would appear to be a valid phone number. However, I hesitate to jump to such conclusions and harass someone unrelated to the game.
Called anyway
