That's a spice. A pepper specifically, and it isn't spelled cyan, its cayenne pepper. I've never heard anyone pronounce the color that way.

Are we talking about the Final Fantasy VI character, here? Because his name was originally written as a transliteration of "Cayenne" in katakana (カイエン). It was just localized by Woolsey as "Cyan".

The color "cyan" is pronounced with a soft C and short A.
