Okay, so assuming the missing 'dash' goes in front of the 2sin... the short leg of the triangle would be a positive 6 and the hypotenuse would thus equal 12.
So, act 1 c=-26 and act 2 v=12.
Maybe we use these numbers to draw 2 spirals on the map, starting at the poles? And the intersection would be the portal locations? /thinkingoutloud

Some thinking out loud about the map: Start at the poles - the lines starting from the poles, the meridians? Used to measure degrees of distance from the prime meridian in Greenwich. There's space for five characters at the bottom, which must be the solution. "Lines" is the obvious five letter answer, but "prime" could relate to both the meridians and the theme of maths/sequences so far?
And my page was folded in the same way too.

Sorry for the delay in sharing my page - I've not been home long. Anyway, here it is. I've not had a chance to look at it for too long but nevertheless I don't have any ideas just yet.

In case it's not clear from the photo, the following letters seem to have been ringed twice (all others are ringed just once):

The 'e' on the left hand page, second row
The 'f' on the right hand page, fifth row

First impression, there are more q's than u's circled.. not to sure what to make of this. Also, including the doubles, there are a total of 25 letters circled. Left to right on pg1 they are
Quote:
F T E E U Z D E M Q Y M Q

And on pg2
Quote:
U E Q D Q S X F F Q D G

Lose thoughts:
The sum of act 1 and act 2 as factored by wilh1206 is -14
Reading across both pages and applying ROT-14 is

THISSINSERSAREEMGLATTEERU

which almost looks like something??

Down each page is:

THSSINRSAEMAEISEREGLTTERU

That's as far as I got..... Tried to make anagrams but no luck so far and I have to go to sleep soon....

Very fascinating, booba.
"THISSINSERSAREEMGLATTEERU" can be rearranged to make out the words:

INSERT
A
LETTER
MESSAGE

and then some extra letters: RISHU

Almost something...

4 of Spades

I got this in the post today, UK stamp.

I had a read about the "powers of twelve" in relation to numbers, doesn't seem to match but then I'm abit fried from work, so I'll have another look tomorrow.
Anyways, thought I'd better share.

Awesome! I hope I get something in the mail. I like where this game is going so far. Reminds me of the ARGs I used to love back in the day, the puzzles don't look so impossible (like having to analyze things with programs n such)

Anyways, I noticed that besides one and six, the other words are half of the number next to it, at least on the first page. Five and ten can be switched to match. That's all I have so far. Not much. I'll give it another go when I get home later.

The missing letters are a ruse

Referring to the letters that would go under the map?

I feel like this must surely match up with the piece I received. We both have six entries set out vertically on each page so I think maybe the numbers on your piece correspond to the letters on mine. I've tried out a couple of things with no luck so far and I'm falling asleep at the laptop so I'll look at it afresh in the morning if nobody cracks it overnight.

EDIT: Whoops, looks like I'm too late. Outstanding work guys! By my reckoning we are missing one piece of the Duodecad (if we assume The Servant meant 7 pieces of mail in total - six Duodecad pieces plus one letter) but we've made excellent progress already.
