Just got the book today. After snooping around its contents it looks like there is a page cipher in the form of a compass located in the back of the book. I'm thinking those pages they listed with quotes may fit with the cipher.

Also another thing to add is that this is a so called "Library Loaned Book" and reading the parts I have so far, the last time it had been checked out was "Oct 14 2000" and has yet to be returned. The spine is marked "813.54 STR 1949". Also on the first page it reads at the top "If Found , Please Return To Workroom B19, Main Library, Pollard State University". Then on the second page it has a stamp that reads "Property Of - Laguna Verde H.S. Library -" I don't know if either of these places exist but my first thought is if they do I wonder what the connection would be if one of us went their either returning the book or finding a book/clue there. Just my initial thoughts.

P.S. Also though it was very well done to think some critics gave it a .5 out of 4. They don't understand what this is, it's a multilevel immersive experience. Even says so on the back of the box saying its a "Bad Robot" Production :p.

Wow, "amazing" is all I can say. I just happened to pick this up at Half Price Books because I saw "conceived by filmmaker J.J. Abrams..." and decided that's all I needed.

I had no idea what I was getting in to! I have already told the world goodbye, as I will be immersed in this for the next... who knows how long!

I was looking at the Pinterest S. board, and followed the profiles of one of the pinners -- Ian Knight. His "random" board is loaded with JJ Abrams items - Fringe glyphs, LOST 2014 images, a Star Trek/Dharma Initiative blend logo, and more. Quite interesting!!

What can I say I'm a fan !

Seriously, I'm not tied to the book / J J I do however co-run the SFiles22 blog and that's why I uploaded that photo, I thought it might have been a trigger to unlock something, but alas not yet.

So a little late on this, but I'll be getting my book in the mail on Tuesday(had I known I could have picked it up in Barnes and noble, I'd have it by now).

Anyways, is there a wiki, or a "Story so far" for this book?

No story so far or wiki, but on SFiles22 we do have some info on the book pre-release and some reference pages on some of the emerging themes.

If you are waiting for the book, I would say listen to the Radio Straka audio broadcasts.

They are very eclectic, but do prepare your mind for the book.

*rofl* well played, my friend Smile I figured, most of the uploaded pics were random - you'd gone with one from the book, so thought maybe that was a clue. Alas, I have been fooled. (btw - I really like some of your work!)

Once I started "following" the S. board, I was also invited to be able to upload to it. Perhaps this will become a necessary task in the future.

Time to keep reading!

I do appreciate the work that's gone into that blog so far, but is there a way to comment without having to sign up for one of those services? I'd like to contribute, but not if it means having to join yet another internet thingamajig.

Thanks !

I have a feeling the S board is more of a marketing thing, I think they want people to start putting the S everywhere and take photos of it.

I'm afraid not, you can link your Facebook or twitter account to authenticate, otherwise you will have to sign up to a Google account, assuming you don't already have one for GMail or other service.

I have used anonymous commenting before on other blogs but it usually ends up being abused and gets turned off anyway.

television appearance

fyi,
tonight, on Comedy Central's Colbert Report:
J.J. Abrams, coauthor of "S"

(return to report)
"The squirrel is in the basket."

Does this mean anything to you? "The squirrel is in the basket." Colbert slipped that sentence in while he was introducing Abrams. During the interview, the wall screen behind them flashed the image of a squirrel, barely visible for an instant when they switched camera angles; later, an image of a wicker basket flashed on that screen and caught Abrams by surprise. He didn't mention it specifically, but he acted like he was confused. I wasn't sure whether he was genuinely distracted by it or was just playing along.

Anyway... clue? or hoax? and by Abrams or by Colbert?
