Well the movie is tentatively titled The Operator.

Besides, there's no way he could be less significant than he has been in the series for the past two years.

Where did you find this information?

I think JustJim is referring to the fact that the Operator hasn't been appearing as much during Season 3 as he did in, say, Season 1. Of course, Season 1 was mostly flashbacks (or, well, the equivalent), which could justify it.

When I expressed hope that the Operator would have a prominent appearance, I meant as opposed to Paranormal Activity, where Tobi is not all that frightening.

I think he was requesting sauce on the claim that the film is tentatively titled The Operator, since that isn't common knowledge and it would be nice to know where he got that information.

I wonder if they ever get sick of answering the exact same questions every panel and interview they've ever done...

That's what I wanted to know. I haven't seen anywhere from Trosephim it's going to be called that, and if IMDB is his source I'm going to laugh.

The Operator is the movie's working title, which means that it is subject to change (although at this point, it probably won't')
Doug Jones's official website refers to the movie by that name. http://www.thedougjonesexperience.com

Here's the passage.
Quote:
The feature film version of MARBLE HORNETS has a working title of THE OPERATOR, and yes, I am indeed playing "The Operator" ... a character who is inspired by the iconic "Slenderman", but we are not calling him "Slenderman," we are calling him "The Operator."

Ok thanks. I hadn't seen it anywhere else and hadn't gone to Doug Jones' site ever.

I really hope they name it just something like Marble Hornets: The Movie or just Marble Hornets...not The Operator. I don't know, maybe it's just me but I hate movies that are named after a character (with the exception of superhero movies) in the movie.

Yeah, just Marble Hornets will do

I believe they renamed the characters based off the preview clip they showed at Austin Con. I doubt they will call a student film contained in it (if there is one) as Marble Hornets, or naming it Marble Hornets.

I got the impression its supposed to be a alternate story of peoples experience with the Operator based off MH and the story told in a similar manner. I hope they don't use the same name. I want them to be decently different, if they are too similar we'll have to listen to people comparing them.

Maybe it's about a few fellow students they had preview some of the early footage...

I don't think naming it Marble Hornets will make people compare them any more than they will to begin with.

It seems from what little we know of it, that the movie is more about The Operator as a character. Set in the same universe as the series, but different characters. The student film will likely have no real significance in movie, so perhaps they want to avoid having a rather nonsensical legacy title that a more mainstream audience may not understand.

I agree with JustJim

Ztakk: It's only my opinion, but I think namesake is important. They will compare it no matter what, but a lot of fans that aren't totally in to it and following the creators and the movie stuff, are gonna see the same title and compare it on a way different level, which I would rather not listen to the incoming "Marble Hornets was nothing like its movie. The Movie is WAY better then the online show." Which if they share a name, I believe will happen.

You're going to get that anyways Kat. When they see "Based on Marble Hornets" or whatever in it, those who don't know what it is are either going to go out and look up Marble Hornets and compare the two anyways, or they're not going to care.

It's similar to how people think Marble Hornets is based off Slender when it's the other way around. It doesn't matter what things are called. Either way it's going to happen, the movie and the series are going to be compared.

Don't like it, go blind.

I think comparing the movie to MH would unacceptable, only if the MH creators weren't DIRECTLY involved in the making of the movie. If it was a group of completely separate people doing this, some schlock out of hollywood, then it would be fine. It would be a potential nightmare (on a filming level), but you wouldn't compare it other than the name. But the fact is, Trosephim ARE involved. They went so far as calling it Marble Hornets, and saying its completely unrelated to their webseries.

I'm sorry, but I'm gonna be comparing the hell out of the movie and the web series. At first I was going to dismiss it, but thinking about it, The film will give the series a large amount of attention, may even spawn some direct plot spinoffs series. And Mostly because its a chance to see what Trosephim can do with a bigger than usual budget and a wider target audience. Perhaps we'll see a movie based on THAC shenanigans in the near future after the movie, who knows. Imagine a feature length Mon Chat Regard. Is the world even ready to handle another potential masterpiece? My feelings on the movie have changed. I'm excited for it, mostly because it'll give Trosephim the additional attention that they much deserve.

P.S. I'm NOT watching this in the theaters. Its a nice idea, but watching something like this is better suited when you're alone (Or with a friend who you know will be quiet through most of it). With the lights off. Preferably very late at night. And this is based on the hopefulness that the movie will be just as scary as the series can be.

I don't really mind what they call it. But I hope people don't confuse both stories. Will it be anything to do with Marble Hornets at all, or is just going to have that sort of theme that Marble Hornets has? At first, it didn't sound good, but hey, lets give it a chance. It will be interesting to see what they can do with a good budget. Smile.

I wonder if the characters might talk or reference about Tim and Jay and perhaps show a totheark video, that would be cool. Smile
