Mini ARG for my birthday - help!

Hi. I don't know if this is 100% appropriate for here, but I saw someone post about something like this for their friend's birthday, so I figured it was worth a shot.

I'm a longtime lurker, participant in Test Subjects Needed (my icefly is proudly displayed at home!), huge fan of ARGs, writer, and semi-experienced tabletop GM. So that's where I'm coming from. I LOVE ARGS. Words cannot express my joy when I got my trailhead for TSN that first day and realized what it was.

I have wanted to make something like a local, self-contained mini-ARG for my birthday for I don't know how many years. My 30th is coming up in January and I figured this was as good an excuse as any to actually do it.

I can come up with stories but I'm awful at puzzles and stuff. I'm wondering if somebody would be willing to partner with me, help me work out puzzles and stuff, and generally be a resource/reference so I don't have to make everything myself and so it doesn't totally suck. I'm thinking either cyberpunk or some sort of urban fae thing, alternate reality, that sort of thing, but I'm still thinking.

I don't have tons of money, but I am willing to pay you a small amount, and/or I would be willing to work out a trade - I write, draw, bake delicious cookies (I've been paid for that before!) and I also do music and take cover commissions.

I am located in Austin, Texas, but I'm not really expecting someone local. (If you ARE local, bonus points!)

Is anyone able/willing to help? There's an Austin-based ARG meetup but it appears to be defunct. I know there are some ARG pros in town, but they're probably way out of my teeny budget. So I figured I'd come back to the unforum and beg for help. Smile

I'd be happy to talk through stuff with you. I can't really commit to creating anything on a large scale over the holidays... but I love brainstorming.
