I theorized that the Ark was the place The Operator keeps people it's taken. That would give TTA a possible motive for finding it: if he'd lost someone to TO, finding the Ark might let him rescue them.

Now, I'm not even sure if the Ark is an object or a location. Or a person, for that matter.

I know we're all sick to death of hearing "Alex is the Ark", but hear me out on this possibility. In the past, people based that theory on his initials (Alex R. Kralie, ARK), and not much else. And it was debunked with word-of-god statements that his middle name did not start with an R, and not much else. But what if he is the Ark? Not because of a Meaningful Name, but something else. Without any real evidence of what the Ark is or what it does, how do we know it's not a person.

Now, look at what TTA said in this entry:
FIND ALEX
FIND THE ARK

Don't misunderstand; I don't think the Ark is a person, and definitely not Alex, I just don't think the idea should be dismissed without very careful examination.

I believe either the ARK is that pitch black place AKA "The place with no light" or a newer idea that came to mind.

What if the ARK is Amy? We don't know Amy's last name, and maybe Hoody is trying to get Alex to spill where Amy is. "Find Alex, Find the ARK".

Or I could be spouting out complete nonsense.

Amy crossed my mind too, haha. Frankly, so did Alex. I really doubt it though, I don't think its gonna be a person.

Quote:
How could the ark be in Benedict Hall? Why is Alex relevant to finding the ark? Does Alex physically have it or know where/what it is? If Alex dies is the ark lost? Is this why Hoody and Masky never finish him off but seem intent to interrogate him? Does Alex himself even know what the ark is or why they want it? Does Alex really know anything more than the rest of them at all?

I think its important to note that whatever this ark is, it has been relevant all 3 seasons, meaning trosephim knew what the ark was since entry#9

Not necessarily. Trosephim have admitted to making up most things as they went along in S1. Considering they've told us almost nothing about what the Ark actually is, it's possible that they didn't know what it was going to be when they first started referencing it and only decided what it really was later, or that they had a plan for the Ark at the beginning but later on changed it and decided it was something else.

I know that but don't you think the ark is a much bigger aspect of the series? I don't think that was something they changed. I don't think they would have called something the ark without a set idea in place.

is there definite proof that alex knows about the ark?

it could have just been two seperate instructions: find alex and then find the ark

even if he did know once the operator has probably tried to wipe the memory

Not Alex, Joseph. The co-creator.

He's asking about the instructions in 79. There's no evidence Alex really knows anything about the ARK

But Alex knows about the Marble Hornets YouTube channel and presumably has watched some of the videos at least up to a certain point, so at the very least he knows of the existence of the totheark channel and heard "you will lead me to the ark" in Entry ####.

To the Arch?
The Tunnel's Arch?

Has anyone considered the possibility that "Ark" is a misspelling or purposely corrupted variation on the word Arch? Like, the Arch of the Tunnel?

Given the biblical connotations of "ark" (i.e. ark of the covenant), it may not exactly be a "thing". Finding the ark might refer to some sort of relationship TTA is seeking with the Operator...

But everyone on here has declared that the bible stuff is irrelevant because the Operator is made of science and that belief in any deity is bad because it detracts from the glory of science. Hail science, for it is right to give it thanks and praise.

Seriously though, we've been wrong with virtually every theory we've ever come up with regarding anything in the show, so I doubt it's anything we've hypothesized.

....but the ark is an actual thing in the Bible. It's a big fancy box to hold the ten commandments and other relics. So that makes no sense to begin with.
