Checked your story. It's only looking to me like you created a sock account and then posted the same video to a different thread 8 minutes later. Way to go. You derailed 2 threads because you mistook garbage for something legit.
Wow, just...wow. New person has a first post with information...must be a puppet account. I suppose we can ask a moderator to try and verify that's a different person if you promise the answer won't hurt your ego.

At this point I don't really give a fuck. I've made my point. The video is not related and never will be. You insulting me to save your own ego is validating enough.

Save my ego? The closest thing to a bruised ego I have is that I wish my first post had been as brilliant as that guys. I can only assume he had the answer before me since he had to create an account and prettied up his message while I just threw down a url.

Since you are so dead set that using the same method to decode the first tweet to get the video id that provides the answer to the question for that first tweet is erroneous, please provide us with your solution to the riddle.

Regardless, we still haven't solved the puzzle and won't know for a fact if the video is relevant until the puzzle is solved. Continue working on it believing what you like. If you feel that it's important, let it lead your search. If you don't, find clues elsewhere. This keyboard video is not an answer, only a potential clue. Feel free to disregard it if you feel it has no merit.

I've been working on it. I'm not as good at cryptography as others are. But I know from my experience with the Jadusable ARG that if all the codes up to that point will decipher into a legible phrase but the code you have doesn't use the same base as the others, it's going to turn out garbage. You can't sit there and use the first result you get using the cipher. Besides, we've seen the creators use a different base for second codes when they've posted them like that in the past.

Let me put it this way. Found this other cipher online while looking for base 8 and base 16(multiples of 8 like base 64) and this is what I found when I tried both codes.

http://online-calculators.appspot.com/base64/

First one: SG93IGRvIGhhbmRzIHRhbGs=, decodes just fine into How Do Hands Talk.

The Second one: ZFo4MGJJVUVNeVE just gives an error. Meaning, what I've been saying all along. It's garbage code caused by using the wrong cipher on it. It is only a coincidence that you can add it to a youtube URL.

Furthermore, if you feel that the video is so significant, then prove it. Because all you've done is spread it around that the video is important. All I've done is tell you how it is not. Why don't you tell how it is? I want more than just how you googled a garbage code and found it.

Is it not possible for the video to be related only for the fact that it depicts typing, as an answer to the first half of the code?

Other then that I would agree that it's completely irrelevant, but supposing the answer to 'How do hands talk' is 'typing' (which makes sense, at the very least), they needed to allude to typing somehow. Considering the pivotal use of video in this series, why not use a video to point to the answer.

In no way do I think the video is important in any way, only to imply the answer 'typing' which may or may not be the actual answer. I think it needs to be considered until we find another alternative, this may be what they intended.

I've been thinking. The first code ends in an equals sign. I'm thinking maybe it means that the second code, once it's deciphered is meant to be the answer.

I've been trying to figure out a way to use the first code as a cipher for the second , but I can't come up with any way that it works.

Are we actually arguing about the relevance of some random video of a guy typing? Yes, its coincidental that it has something to do with the apparent solution of the first tweet, but it's also completely irrelevant to the plot. For further insight on this concept, watch this cute video of a cat! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GzgpeLFf4z4
See how that doesn't add any credence to my argument? Neither does that video. There's no reason for there to be a string of disassociated codes and tweets simply to lead to a random youtube video about nothing. Hands talk by typing, writing, or signing. Fantastic. Move on.

Funny when I use ZFo4MGJJVUVNeVE= on your deocde I still get dZ80bIUEMyQ.

---

Ahhh I see the original tweet has no padding to correct for length, so any base 64 decoder that doesn't allow for incompatible length won't correct.

The = is the reason you get errors, in a base64 string the = is used to extend length so it can be easily dealt with it means basically nothing.

And it's still garbage. It's not base 64. If it doesn't produce a legible result, it's nothing but gibberish. Why are you not understanding that?

Now then, again, I ask you HOW IS THE VIDEO IMPORTANT? Explain yourself with more than just how you got a piece of gibberish from the second code and randomly put it on the end of a youtube URL. You are dodging the question. I've shown you multiple times in multiple ways that the gibberish you get from trying to use a base 64 cipher on the second code is just that: gibberish. You have NOT given one piece of evidence beyond the garbage code that proves how that video has any relation to Marble Hornets or the codes.

Prove me wrong. I have proven you wrong. Now it's your turn.

Actually, you haven't. The only way to prove that it's irrelevant is by solving the puzzle without using it.

ZFo4MGJJVUVNeVE= -> dZ80bIUEMyQ
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v + dZ80bIUEMyQ -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZ80bIUEMyQ

The reason that googling the base64 answer gives the url is because it's the YouTube video ID and therefore is in the url itself.

I have proven that it is irrelevant because there is no way to solve the puzzle using it. I've shown several different ways now that the result you get from trying to use a base 64 cipher on it only serves to produce garbage.

It's obvious to more than just me that the video is not related.

Point 1: The video is 2 years old and posted by a guy that just posts random videos of looking out the window while traveling by car or plane.

Point 2: Creators have said in numerous interviews and convention Q&A's that they will never use outside sources for any of their puzzles.

Point 3: The code dZ80bIUEMyQ is a result of trying to use a base 64 cipher to decrypt ZFo4MGJJVUVNeVE. It's a gibberish result meaning that it's not relevant. I can do the same thing with a Caesar cipher:

Because of the gibberish, it's clear that the code doesn't use a Caesar cipher either. I can go through all 25 shifts, but it's not going to produce anything but garbage.

That still does not answer my question. How is the video important? What clue does it actually give? It's a random video on youtube. It's a coincidence that the gibberish produced from a failed cipher attempt can be added to a fucking youtube URL.

How the can I get you to see that plugging gibberish randomly into google IS NOT SOLVING THE PUZZLE????

Point 1: The video id is the Base64 translation of the tweet

Point 2: the tweet 30 minutes prior is also a base64 code which was the question "how do hands talk"

Point 3: The video answers the question

Question and answer have the same solution.

The Answer is "They Type".

My theory past this is that TTA wants Jay to type instead of being quiet.

This could indicate something has already happened and Jay is being quiet about it and TTA is once again impatient because of his inefficiency.

--edit---

Google is not needed to get the answer if you convert the tweet from base64 and plug it straight into youtube as a video ID you get the answer to the previous tweet.

Google served the same function as the converters do, it did the work.
