One thing that still doesn't really make sense to me: if Herzog was killed in the crash, and the flea was impersonating him, then what was the Herzog->Rani call in week 9 all about? Neither of the voices we heard were from the people we thought they were, and no new information was gained. Was the flea impersonating both sides of the conversation just to fool us? That seems like a wasted effort. What was gained by that?
Or am I missing something?
The information that came out of it was that the artifact was indeed counting down and action had to be taken. I think that was the single most important file for Durga in that when it came up, it prompted her into action. I burned myself a cd of all the episodes to listen to in my car and I put that file ahead of the rest of the files for that week. In my mind, Durga heard that file and decided it was time to bring everybody together to deal with the artifact.
Herzog was a person that we were trusting to be "in the know." When we thought we heard him validating Rani's concerns about the artifact, it spurred team Jersey into action.
EDIT: I hearby acknowledge that TuxKamen beat me to the post on this, but we said the same thing in slightly different ways so I'm gonna leave mine up too.

Thanks! I'll give it a try. It's amazing how much harder Legendary is than Heroic.
According to Bungie, Legendary Halo2 is far worse than Legendary Halo.
That's awesome. The more ridiculous the difficulty level, the more fun. Just look at Nightmare difficulty Doom/Doom2/Quake3/Doom3. (and no, I can't survive more than a few seconds on any of those)

Just to give everyone who hasn't played Halo a idea of how long it takes to play the game:
Mazian and I did co-op on legendary, then the next week for shits and giggles we did it on easy Here's our times.
on Ledgandary: 11-12 hours (curse the library level!)
on Easy: 4 hours
/me hands the thread back to its rightful owner.

I haven't really attempted any character interaction in this game, but I just decided to email the flea, mostly to amuse myself:
Quote:
Behold:
!analyze seeker
success
seeker > !betray Princess friends
seeker > !betray Crew
seeker > !betray Earth
seeker >> Dirty covenant bastard
seeker > !screw seeker
seeker > !rot in hell
seeker > !beware Princess friends
I felt that "seeker > !screw seeker" was a stroke of brilliance. I can't turn down the opportunity to tell a covenant virus to go screw himself.

Amazing ending, but the bit about the Flea is awfully strained.
He's a very small, simple program. His purpose was to seek the artifact, find its location, and reveal the coordinates to the Covenant. And he has to be small and inconspicuous enough to avoid detection by the Operator.
For a small, simple program, it's *incredibly* crafty. It manages to outwit SPDR and persuade Melissa (an incredible feat!) Then it manages to figure out the dire situation on Earth, with an artifact that needed deactivating. And then it manages to fake some voices, with sufficient individual personality and accuracy that Durga couldn't tell the difference.
This does not sound like the capability set of a small program. It sounds like a program that's far more sophisticated even than the reunited Durga.

The site is called I Love Bees because it's original host was a beekeeper in California(?), named Margaret (Dana's Aunt).
Melissa/Durga doesn't love them but:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
She was drawn to this site because it reminded the part of her that was Yasmine of the injection she received before she became an AI. The syringe was long and yellow, with a needle on the end and black lines to mark the milliliters.

Question: How would have all life in the galaxy been wiped out? Certainly not the small artifact... and the big one was taken care of by MC.
Well - that's all fine and dandy with the exception
A) 343 Guilty Spark called Halo "Installation 004"
This would imply ATLEAST 3 more halos
Someone did mathematics of the halo and determined something like 2000 Halos would be needed to wipe the galaxy clean of life...

It wasn't necessarily something that she loved, just one of the things most prevelent in her mind at the time of the crash... for durga - the castaway, for yasmine/melissa - her last memory.
makes good sense

Actually, the library isn't too hard on legendary... at least, it's far from the hardest level. I find the covenant more difficult than the flood on legendary...
as for times - haven't timed coop legendary, but single player can be done in around 6 hours, maybe less, running through

Dunno if we looked at the same page, but this site claims to only need 6 to wipe out ours.
EDIT: Oh, and since we're talking about it - I suck so badly that I can't past the library on anything above the lowest setting.

Erm, the math said somewhere around 6 or 7 IIRC. See Halo.Bungie.Org, I can't seem to find the page, though. Check "Miscellaneous".
