Who was Bradley and how did he die?

Bradley was Tim's pet rat. Can't quite remember how he died, but Tim posted on tumblr about it. Some sort of respiratory illness.

Here's the link.

Their neighbors must be so entertained.

The sound effects and over exaggerated movements are so Ren and Stimpy to me. Wow. Surreal and awesome. Joseph's appearance was so creepy - he's good at what he does, I guess.

Does anyone know what the music is?

I know it's definitely from the Nutcracker, but I don't remember which part.

EDIT: Never mind, I found it, it's "Dance of the Reed Pipes" from The Nutcracker, Op 71. Here's a link:

Holy carp you guize!

Tim opens the door, and there's a picture of Joseph-Listens-To-Jazz-Joseph on the mantle!

I see the vid as symbolic; he didn't get things for other people and received nothing himself. Thus the spirit of giving laughed at him because in a way, thematically, he received nothing because he gave nothing. Eh?

But how can we be sure he didn't get things for other people?

We only ever see Tim get presents for Tim. As Tim despairs over how he's left with nothing but coal in the end, he finds both life and his greedy past self laughing in his face.

there's not meaning in everything. maybe they just wanted to do a comical video where a guy gets coal for christmas and then gets made fun of for it

Or, more logically, we could observe that there is meaning in everything, and the concept of a narrative having crazy detailed meaning planned out by the most genius of minds is essentially a rarity, closer to myth than to reality.

Meaning is a lot more subconscious than you seem to think. There is an inherent logic to a video where a man gives himself a present and then receives something recognized as "punishment for being naughty." It's almost as if, say, he's being punished for giving himself the present. The creators didn't have to have sat down before the video and gone "Okay, so this is what the video is going to mean." They would just go "Okay, what would a good ending be for this?" "Oh, maybe Tim sees another Tim and Santa Claus laughing at him." Because it makes some sense to them deep down.

So before you shake your head, it might be a good idea to offer a bit more respect to people thinking they see a logic to a video.

On the one hand, that meaning does make a lot of sense.

On the other hand, please keep in mind that this video came from the people who made "Joseph Touches A Grapefruit" and "Day is Done." And Nature Break.

Challenge of the day: Explain what the hell is going on in Grapefruit in a deep, philosophical manner.

Joker, I take it you weren't expecting me to try.

Joseph has a disgust of grapefruits, stemming from a childish dislike of that which he knows to be healthy. Touching the grapefruit represents the first step towards symbolically growing up and embracing adulthood. There are also many terrible secrets he must grasp along the way.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
If you want to come kill me in my sleep, go ahead. I probably deserve it.
