According to the Times article, ILB is 10 hrs of audio. How much is online vs what we'll receive at the event?

technically, ilovebees was entirely non-profit... a loss-leader in a sense, for Halo 2...

This was before it was known by the majority, but it looks to me like 4orty2wo was contracted by Microsoft (according to the NY Times article), so it wasn't non-profit. MS probably gave them all hats full of money, or at least beanies with little propellers to spin.

even so, it's non-profit. ie, the project itself makes no money directly. A loss-leader specifically means money is spent on it, without directly earning income, but with the intent to help income in other places. ilovebees was entirely non-profit, and a loss-leader for Halo 2. A marketing ploy. None of us paid any money to the PMs... we didn't buy anything sponsored by the PMs... MS likely lost money paying the PMs/actors to create this, and in hosting (even if still piddly for MS) for the website... they'll be gaining money back through purchases of Halo 2 and Xbox's.

ilovebees = non-profit, Halo 2 loss-leader

but I'm done Smile

Might they animate the audio files for us. Perhaps using the Halo2 engine. Maybe one or all the characters will have cameos in the game

I'm wondering if they'll have full recordings of all the live phone calls. Or at least some of them. Guess I'll have to "work late" and head downtown to get a DVD tonight and find out.

I fear for a full recording of my call. Man, I sounded like such a doof!

How are we supposed to know who we're supposed to see? Or since all the pickup spots are at movie theatres are they just gonna stand "the help" outside

Can one audio DVD hold 5 hours of audio clips, and how much space would be left over if it could?

Easily, and there'd be quite a bit of space left over.

well, considering that a dvd is 4.6 gigs, and a regular cd is only 700 Mb... I'm sure that they could esily fit 5 hours of just sounds on one with at least 1 gig left

Go to:

http://www.gamespot.com/news/2004/11/02/news_6112051.html?part=rss&tag=gs_news&subj=6112051

it says:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
"Upon arrival," we were told, "the Bee Keepers will find their way to a theater where they will receive a special commemorative DVD (and a collector's lanyard) as well as a special chapter of the ILB game specifically created for the event."

I hope they send me one Sad ... I'm not on the crew member list...
