 		[TRAILHEAD] Porcelain Spiders
Hi, all! Long time lurker, first time poster.

Sorry if this has been mentioned already. I did a search but came up with nothing regarding 'Porcelain Spiders'.

According to the wiki for this series, this is "a re-imagining of how the events of the YouTube series Marble Hornets would come to pass if the identities of the characters were different."

My thoughts: It seems they "genderbent" the MH cast. I do like their take on Entry #7 (shooting the Brian in the car scene in the original). But I'm not sure why they felt this was necessary to make a statement. At this point, I'd just like to see some originality in Slender videos in a new series, regardless of whether the cast is male or female. Should be interesting!

 		Genderbent Marble Hornets huh? I guess it's best to not see this is anything amazing, just more of a novelty thing. Looks like it's not much more than that at first glance.

 		The main protagonist also has a IG Tumblr blog in which you can directly interact with her. (which is already a change from the Original, where Jay barely responded to messages and twets to him)

Alexa was filming a movie when she quit rather dramatically and out of nowhere, saying she wanted to burn the footage and never talk about it again. Jane talked Alexa into giving her the tapes to hold on to, but after a year without contact Jane decided to turn them into an independent study project. As she began to watch the footage, however, she started to learn what had actually been going on while she and her friends were filming.

"Porcelain Spiders" is a re-imagining of how the events of the YouTube series Marble Hornets would come to pass if the identities of the characters were different. While planning to make their own slenderseries with a focus on diversity and representation, the cast and crew were told that fans of the genre didn't want more diversity because "it doesn't matter/won't change anything" and "any attempt at it will be obvious and feel shoehorned"; as if diverse casting was somehow both pointlessly unnoticeable and obnoxiously noticeable at the same time.

"Porcelain Spiders" allows the cast and crew to create their own brand new, fully unique ARG while also demonstrating why casting and character identities matter. They decided to do a re-make of an existing series because they want the audience to see the strings. They want people to be able to catch subtle characterization, plot and dialog decisions while also realizing that underrepresented identities can play out just as naturally as those in the original. In short, the decision to do a re-make allows people to compare and contrast, which you can feel free to do on this wiki.

NOTE: The cast and crew of Porcelain Spiders DO NOT THINK MARBLE HORNETS DID ANYTHING "WRONG." This project is 50% meta demonstration of how naturally a diverse cast can fit into the genre and 50% homage to the series that started it all.

 		I actually thought this was going to turn out similar to how Everymanhybrid did in the beginning. They were just parodying MarbleHornets, and they realize it isn't always their slenderman, or something unscripted happens.

I thought that might have been somewhat interesting, because it wouldn't have to follow the story of MarbleHornets, and the backstory as to why it is happening could be explained.

 		I think this is going to be very interesting...

I'd relate it to the Game of Thrones TV show - taking the premise and basic story line from the novels, but also starting to twist it and eventually planning to go off in a different direction. But who knows?

 		Sorry, I'm not going to watch this. I watched two videos and read some things said in this thread and I don't think it's going to be something that you would religiously follow like the rest of the series. I would rather just re-watch MH. Marble Hornets is a unique experience and if you want that vibe just watch the real thing because those guys are geniuses, these ladies are fans riding on the wake of their now Hollywood-bound asses.

That means nothing. The TTA videos contribute nothing to the actual plot of MarbleHornets, which this series is still blatantly plagiarizing. There's a point when it stops being an homage and starts becoming plagiarism, and this series crossed that line very quickly.

No, I read it just fine. I also think that talk is cheap, especially from the creators of this series, given that they were claiming for months leading up to this that they were going to give us something "revolutionary" and "original."

So, forgive me for being doubtful, but I really don't trust a thing that comes out of this person's mouth.

Which probably has nothing at all to do with this,but I'm linking to it anyway because crabs have a spider-like quality.

I put the numbers from the video description into a decoder and if I'm doing it right,then it's a hex code that translates to '1 13',which was yesterday,and when this video was uploaded.

I am intrigued where this will go and have watched everything,read the blog and subscribed/following everything.I am trying to remain open-minded about this and see where it leads.As with other Slender/Fear Mythos vlogs,if the series engages/entertains me,I keep watching.If it doesn't,I stop.

Edit:Forgot to say that the letters that are capitalized in the title "Introduction" spell "RUN"

 		Even with the TTA copycat side channel type thing I'm still not into it, if you're going to make a slender series and you want to be well received on unfiction, don't fucking copy the BEST and FIRST slender vlog there was and just switch guys for girls.

Nothing has been accomplished, time has been wasted, I am not impressed.

I'm sure I am not the only one thinking this.
