Also there are unused scenes on there (4 I think)

It's pretty great and made doubly so thinking of how confused the majority of people who were around me (who got the disk because some random gaming forum said to) will be.

Also, there is a farewell from Mel.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
She finally was able to work up the courage to say she loved me. About time. the shy act only cuts it for so long.

Gak! The training exercise is not done yet? I just sent my email about half an hour ago.

-- Steve's hoping that Dana will overlook a minor time discrepancy... it's the, uh, effects of, ahh, time travel. Yeah. That's it...

Well, it's only been on for a little over an hour... how would YOU feel if, after a mere 60 minutes of bliss, they cut you off?

I am hoping the same thing. I sent mine about 10 or 15 minutes ago.

I just got back from picking up the DVD at the Vienna, VA location, which was an... interesting experience.

About seven or eight people were there at 9 PM (one all the way from Richmond), with no sign of any "official" outside of the regular theater staff. One guy who was there before I was (I showed up about 8:40) said he saw some guy carrying a small package walk into the ticket booth, but he didn't see him leave or anything.

After a couple minutes, we questioned the theater personel about DVDs, which netted the majority of us a free Ray Charles DVD (cool, but not what we came for Confused ).

Around 8:12 I finally just walked up to the ticket counter, shrugged, and told the guy "The Operator left a message for me," which got a queer look from the dude for about ten seconds before he said he didn't know what I was talking about.

The crowd of beekeepers had probably swelled to about fifteen at this point, when somebody finally asked for the theater manager. One among us greeted him wih a handshake and gave him the passcode, which netted yet another WTF look.

We explained the situation for him and told him that his theater was listed as a location for the DVD pickup, at which point the manager went into the back office for about three minutes. He came back out, confirmed that their theater was participating, stepped into the ticket booth and after about two minutes came out with the small package that had been dropped off, containing (at last!) a number of ILB discs. We all graciously and quickly took our copies and poured out of there (we had more than enough time for socialization while waiting).

As an experience, it was a bit disappointing having to break from the game, but hell I got my DVD so I'm happy.

So instead of Bungie, it was really a company called 42 Entertainment behind this ARG. I saw this and started racking my brain trying to remember some reference to 41 or 42 from earlier in the game.

Prepositions anyone...?

Forty 2wo Entertainment is the company that also did The Beast, the famous ARG. Looks like Bungie contracted with them to execute this puppy.

Like I said, with PM's permission.

When it's all said and done and people who don't have a copy would like one, with their permission, I will make copies and send them.

Afro, from one lurker to another Smile
Yeah, I got that multiple of seven as well, but it appears that 42 is a separate company that specializes in this type of marketing. Not much info on their website (4orty2wo.com)

You guys really need to educate yourselves on The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. It's a book. It has four sequels. It's important for you to read if you surf the internet more than one hour per day.

42 is the Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe and Everything.

And when that sentence makes sense to you, you'll realize it has nothing to do with the rest of ILB.

That, and you'll understand why towels are so important. Along with peanuts for hyperspace travel.

And why being able to throw yourself at the ground and miss is an extremely important skill to learn.

Among many, many other things.
