Talked to MD guy myself for the first time this evening, about 6 PM PST. Was caught off guard so I used the numbers givin to bobdamnit above, well two of them anyways, he stopped answering before I could give him the third. This is what he said...

Me: I need any information associated with 1009
MD guy: ok hold on..... long pause.... 1009 is Gardens

Same as above but with 1015

MD guy: 1015 is Sandburg

After giving the answers he spelled them out and disconnected both times. GARDENA happens to be a city about 10 miles from me, not sure if that's what he is referring to, though I'm sure sandburg is a city somewhere also. I was gonna try a third time with 1023 but he stopped answering. Hope I didn't waste time doing something already known.

Edit:

Got him again after him not answering for about 20 minutes;

MD guy: 1023 is Cheyenne Wells.

This time he didn't spell it out just disconnected.

There are several cities with the names Gardena and Sandburg, Cheyenne Wells only gave me one return, being in Colorado.

Thanks TheCrimsonGhost! He isn't answering my calls, so I could not try those.

I am pretty sure they haven't been tried. You can get a list of all known Message Desk codes here: http://sukasa.rustedlogic.net/MD/Index.aspx

Feel free to input what you find! Also, join us in the IRC! We would love to see you in there!

Also, after deciphering the DTMF tones on Cleveland Direct and coming up with: CCD63587, morningcoffee and I decided it was worth trying on Message Desk. I just tried it.

CCD63587 is Zero.

It was worth a shot. Smile

Again, sorry for the double post.

16043 (code MD guy used to reach TRANSPORT):

MD guy read the number back like it meant nothing to him. No long pause. I heard him type it in and immediately heard a disconnect noise however I was not disconnected. Maybe a problem with Google Voice? I meant to ask to be connected to TRANSPORT but MD guy cut me off and read the number back to me and I heard disconnect. I waited 15 minutes and gave up. I hope I didn't scare MD guy away!

Thanks bambusar! I did not know you could delete posts, to be honest. I thought a mod had to do it, which is why I left them.

I talked to MD guy last night, when he answered I told him I needed to be connected to transport immediately, he paused for a second and then told me I must have the wrong number and hung up. So that's a dead end.

Thanks again, TheCrimsonGhost. You must have caught him off guard, because usually he doesn't pause. He will just hang up.

Did you give him the code 16043? I only got him twice last night, and I wanted to give a few codes before I tried that. He never answered after the two calls I placed.

I would have tried the following:

"This is 16043. I need to be connected to TRANSPORT."

Im pretty sure it wouldnt have made a difference. He probably still would have hung up on you.

Is there any way you can record calls? Google Voice and Vocaroo perhaps? Or this (if you have an Android Phone): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=polis.app.callrecorder&hl=en

If you can, we'd love to hear it! And please feel free to join us in IRC!

MOD number has changed again today.

On dialling, you hear the faint sound of a recorded voice saying "...after the tone" followed by a very loud industrial-sounding noise that sounds a bit like an old printer. Followed by a busy tone / call ended tone.

Recording here: http://vocaroo.com/i/s18LFXhVBVMA
(please ignore the message at the beginning about toll-free numbers, I just get that every time because I'm dialling from the UK and it's not part of the MOD call)

For a couple of days, the agent system was playing this noise, which was originally used a long time ago in the ARG, and is also used as part of the "chain" that leads to Robby's voicemail. It then goes to "sirens".

http://vocaroo.com/i/s0pYzqr71TpB

This evening, the agent system has changed again. A voice reads out three consecutive numbers, followed by 21 sets of three tones, followed by a long warbling tone.

The numbers are decreasing with each call and it appears to be counting down to something.

After hearing about new AS36 update, I decided to run through calling each number. Here are my findings...

303 309 0004: Male voice counting backwards
314 266 0004: Female voice counting backwards
769 307 0004: Male voice counting backwards
931 516 0004: Male voice counting backwards
254 589 0004: Male voice counting backwards
860 323 0004: Male voice counting backwards
559 397 0004: Male voice counting backwards
859 405 0004: Male voice counting backwards
859 405 0004: Male voice counting backwards
740 617 0004: Male voice counting backwards
850 632 0004: Male voice counting backwards
609 456 0004: Male voice counting backwards
540 931 0004: Male voice counting backwards
903 331 0004: Male voice counting backwards
417 295 0004: Male voice counting backwards
234 222 0004: Static/White nosie (Confirmed by aquinas, Xkeeper)
769 305 0004: Male voice counting backwards
769 553 0004: Male voice counting backwards
769 287 0004: Male voice counting backwards
412 888 0004: Cleveland Direct, still works.

888 854 2402: MOD. Normal recording. Asks for extensions.
202 999 3335: Male voice counting backwards
202 999 3336: Hello 'L/Nusha', thanks for the call
202 204 2303: Typical MD beeps. MD answers.
709 700 0122: Rings forever
603 415 0000: Sill faxing!

I cannot call outside of the US, so I could not try those numbers. I don't have access to calling card, so I could not try class 6 numbers.

User drawbars on IRC tried all class 6 numbers. His results are:

Code:
<drawbars> abism sounding tones on all except 272 , still worm seed ordering

Odd that only one number is playing a female voice, and one number is playing static.

Not important, but we think we got a general location of Message Desk. User Grawspe called today (his birthday) and informed the Message Desk guy that the 15th was his birthday, and that sadly for Grawspe it is the 16th. Message Desk guy said happy birthday, and that it is still the 15th for 8 hours. That puts him at GMT-7, or the west coast of the USA. (Region 9!)[/code]

I just called 314 266 0004 and got a male voice, so it doesn't seem to be specific to that number.

Thanks for that, Xkeeper!

We all know that somehow the PM is changing certain things for the numbers that are calling. For example, when calling Material Desk, and inputting in any extension, I always hear 7-8 beeps and a busy tone. Some people get ringing, some get ITA2, and some that call Material Desk don't get connected. (Busy signal) Its nice to hear what everyone else is hearing!

After hearing static on 234 222 0004, user morningcoffee reported the following:

Code:
<morningcoffee> has been static for quite some time, I dial regularly but never heard anything, also it's the exact same static as on one of the agent codes (36 or something maybe?)
<morningcoffee> it was definitely static in June last year at least: http://otp22.referata.com/wiki/June_22_robot_dance_song
<morningcoffee> I assume it's been static since then at least, but not sure
<morningcoffee> I've been dialling it regularly for a couple of months and it's always been plain static

But later in the day (11:03am, EST) I called the same number and got the following:

Code:
<bobdamnitsAFK> still afk, but just called 234 222 0004 and got this: http://vocaroo.com/i/s1TRR7oUBhDh

"Caller ID authorized. Speak drop agent number. Call back from number. Drop number. Authorization code. GPS location and location description clue after the tone, then provide SSTV image of drop location if available. Thank you for the placement of this drop. You will receive 50% service credit within 48 hours. Remaining 50% service credit will be provided if and when drop is recovered."

It is unsure how long this message was playing before I noticed it. But by 11:52am EST, morningcoffee reported this:

Code:
<morningcoffee> it's back to static

And sure enough, it is indeed back to static. We are currently not sure if someone did something to make the message go away.

Countdown stopped today! Agent System is back online, but all agent codes are playing numbers that we need to decrypt.

234 222 0004 is still playing static.
Material Order Desk is still doing dot matrix printer noise.
Message Desk beeps like normal, but I'm not getting an answer.
