While I was making this, there was one thing that kept nagging at me. I've seen the theory a lot, and it would explain a lot, but... I can't see it. The theory is Masky Tim acting as TTA early on. The thing is... I can't see that. I can't see Masky sitting down at a computer and editing creepy vids. It just seems... wrong. He doesn't seem like the type who would (or could) do that. He's too busy stalking Jay or whatever. I just can't imagine him doing it.

I partially agree, but compare the nature of the early TTAs from S1 to now. The early ones were so bizarre that they make most of the S2 and S3 vids seem pretty lucid and coherent by comparison. Their weirdness makes a bit of sense if you assume that they're Masky's and the more straightforward-ish ones are Hoody's, considering that Masky has generally seemed to be the less stable of the two, and the one more likely to communicate through really strange, cryptic BS.

It might be less weird to envision this if you don't try and picture him editing while wearing the actual mask.

The whole TTA thing is logistically ridiculous. The implication is it's all put in nonsense cryptography because the creator has been driven insane by the Operator, hence the messages being reminiscent of the crazy ass notes Alex makes. But someone still had to sit down with Vegas Pro and basically make it purposely sound crazy to make it be the way it actually is. If you were too insane to communicate like a regular person you wouldn't edit the totheark videos nearly as organized as you'd actually have to. I mean layers of codes seem crazy to the casual observer, but there's really nothing mentally I'll about base 64.

What I mean to say is, Hoody is crazy too. I've read theories about why he cryptically acts from the background fucking with everyone making them have seizures and leading them to their deaths that DONT have to do with being absolutely batshit, but I find the hard to believe. The messages in the totheark videos are downright serial killerish.

So what I'm really saying is that the logistics of someone sitting down and making a totheark video who isn't Troy Wagner doing it for a fictional ARG thing is silly. But I pretend it isn't because I don't care. I don't think about the logistics I just think "This seems like it comes from Masky's mind/POV" or "This seems like Hoody said it" cause if I overthink it, it doesn't really work.

But I still think Hoody may always have been totheark. You look at stuff like Entry ###### where Tim's head erratically flails back and forth, and it looks similar to Entry #61 right after Tim has that seizure. In other words, I can't help but feel like some of that footage has Tim being really mistreated. Plus some of the footage in that video and Warning looks like someone else is behind the camera. Yeah, Tim is in Warning, but so is a weird art doll with it's head flailing around, and I can't help but feel like there's some kind of parallel there.

Still there are other videos like Signal and Messages, and arguably even Addition, Attention, and Admission, which line up with Masky's appearances in a way that implies identity. Plus, it's definitely Tim's voice in ######. A lot of the time I also think about the fact that Troy originally didn't plan on even having totheark in Season 2, and without Forecast onwards everyone would just assume it was Tim. I doubt Hoody would even be suspected by very many people as a suspect.

And then there's also the possibility of retcon, like maybe it originally was Masky but it's been changed to Hoody retroactively. I still see evidence of multiple parties in Season 1 ("Return to us" "We will wait for you no more") but seeing Hoody having stolen Tim's pills this season I almost wonder if that's like a retroactive explanation for their presence in Brian's house. Especially with the water bottles in that entry. But you can't get away from that Masky was actually in Brian's house like at least twice.

Also is heavily depends on who Hoody is. If it's someone who got involved after totheark began, such as Amy (doubt it) I'd be forced to assume it was Masky at first, which for me frankly isn't too hard to believe. If it's someone like Seth or Brian it could easily be one person. Personally I do think Masky was involved at first, anyway.

Oh certainly Hoody *could* have always been TTA. But if you look at S1 outside of the context of its sequels, it's pretty clear that at that point, Troseph intended it to be Masky (even if they already planned him to have a partner), and considering that Masky's previous alliance with Hoody is a known fact and that one of Jay's tweets specifically implied that the change in styles between videos might indicate multiple users, I'm pretty sure it's meant to be that both of them have worked the channel (or at least, someone other than Hoody has.)

And yeah, the whole idea behind TTA is a little weird to think of as something anyone would actually do to begin with.
