I thought when I returned I would not write in this diary again. - yet what else am I to do? The Spy says I am not to leave this place, nor make a sound, until someone comes for me; I can think of nothing else but to write.

It started all enough: all the future receding into a haze, a dream I might have had once as I woke into my body once more. And there he was just as I remembered him - that alone would have been enough. But what a thrill to be young again. Of course, I could not tell him. I started to speak, and realized I must let these years of English go, feel the syllables once more trip over my tongue. It felt like a caricature, this sudden dumbness, but of course, he didn't notice. We had a boat to catch.

The first few hours the waters were smooth and empty and it seemed we might encounter no difficulty with our passage. But nothing is ever so simple. We were spotted, and then the trouble began. As the boat approached, the captain abandoned ship in a row boat, leaving us alone with the vessel. Neither The Spy nor I knew how to sail; we were dead in the water. The Spy dragged me down below decks, to a secret chamber hidden below the floorboards in the captain's cabin, too small even to stand. Stay here, he said. Be silent. You may yet live.

How I longed to tell him to hide himself - I have lived a full life, once, more than my share - but of course, I cannot explain. How could I? I begged that he let me speak to the Germans, but he would not listen, just closed the chamber above me and locked it so I could not escape. For your safety he said. A few minutes later the boat rocked and I heard the thud of boots. We were boarded. There were muffled voices, more thuds - and once, faintly something like a shot. Then, the boat went quiet.

Oh, Anika - what am I to do? To come so far, wait so long, and lose him like this - I cannot bring myself to fear. Only regret.

Footsteps approach. We all have our time; now, I suppose, mine has found me again. I could not escape it forever.

June 17th, 1943 - I never did have sea legs.

(Nose?) of traveling through the waters of German occupied territory doesn't make matters much better either. At this point I hope I've lost every once of what little food I've eaten. The mathemetician continues to act odd. Sometimes I consider asking her about it, but I fear it may ruin what is otherwise a quite wonderful companion for this journey. Still, she is strange. She says she is saving the world, ourselves included. While I agree in a sense, her trepidation from before has been all but lost. She is now sure that coming with me to the United States to work on winning this war was most certainly the correct choice. Despite the fact that calling it a choice is a bit misleading. She was coming either way. We should be arriving in England soon. A warm bed and a cold drink could not (be any more appealing?) *thuds and banging* - Listen, the engines just stopped. There's another boat. *transmission cuts out*



I'm convinced I hear pretty distinct whispering in the background of the audio. I hear it throughout much of the audio, but it's most prominent at around 35 seconds in.

 		It seems with the latest fragment, that a meta agenda may have been revealed...

I'm very new to these things, but it seems to me that either the Makerspace organizations have collaborated on this incredible adventure, or that perhaps the PMs are experimenting with a way to subsidize the cost of the game. I applaud them either way for the incredible story so far.

Thank you for the transcriptions grgisme! Not sure what you mean by the meta agenda though.

I think that you're right about the USB code though. The June 17th audio should be listed in the after action reports part of the site if it had been punched in, but it's not.

Any chance you can look into that, franjime?

 		I spoke with franjime the day he retrieved the package and he did enter the code. The pushpin is still white. It looks like someone may still be on vacation. Smile

Thanks for the update! I've submitted a question to The Mechanic. I'll keep tabs on the phone line and we'll proceed once it appears the other two fragments are ready to cross over.

Hope it's not too soon... I'm going to Luxembourg Sunday to Friday, so Mechanic: please avoid next week! Wink

Although I guess the drops are usually on weekends, so as long as it's not this coming weekend, I'm still on.

 		I got all caught up on this over Christmas break, and about two weeks ago the Mechanic said he'd be releasing new information about future fragments "soon". Might be worth leaving another comment for him over on the tumbler.

 		Hi grgisme! Yes, I did submit a query to the Mechanic as to whether he might be leaning on the pause button... No response yet. I guess we will just have to wait and see what comes our way.

 		I haven't updated the dropbox doc for the last few drops, but I'll go over those drops this weekend and see if there's something we might have missed.

Weather here in southern Scandinavia has turned cold but dry - very little to no snow on the ground, so it's not weather-related.
