Yes, we're overloading the ILB servers trying to snag all the files the second they go hot. Happened on Sunday too.

Anyone else have problems with a personal call? I had a full signal, but my cell phone never rang at 11:16. It worked fine last week.

I thought of that, except that we received a different message on Sunday. Oh well.

STL

Long story short: I blew it on the STL locations, but it looks like someone else picked up the slack.

12:49 PM CST, Thursday, November 4, 2004, Interstate-44 Westbound, 300 yards east of the Elm Street exit:
Quote:
"Good afternoon."
"Afternoon, sir."
"License and registration, please."
"Here you are, officer."
"Where you headed?"
"Kirkwood, sir."
"Where in Kirkwood?"
"A payphone out front of the Best Buy on Big Bend, sir."
"A payphone?"
"Yes, sir."
"Expecting a phone call?"
"Yes, sir."
"From whom?"
"I'm not sure exactly, sir."
"What is this call regarding, exactly?"
"I'm... involved in a kind of elaborate treasure hunt, sir."
"A treasure hunt?"
"Yes, sir."
"And you need to answer the payphone?"
"Yes, sir."
"But you're not sure who's calling?"
"No, sir."
"And you're not sure what they'll say when you answer?"
"I'm pretty sure I'll hear a recording, sir."
"And the recording will tell you where the treasure is?"
"No, sir, the recording is the treasure."
"..."
"More or less."
"And the call comes in when?"
"1:30, sir."
"And that's why you were going 82 miles per hour in a 65?"
"I didn't really know how fast I was going, sir."
"And why is that?"
"I was concentrating on watching the road, sir."
"..."
"And I thought I was moving at the speed of traffic, sir."
"Okay, here's what I'm going to do. I'm going to run your plates and license. Am I going to find anything out of the ordinary?"
"No, sir."
"Good. I'm not going to write you a ticket, but since this payphone treasure hunt is what I think was making you not concentrate on watching the speed limit, we're going to sit here until I'm sure you'll miss the call. Is that okay with you?"
"Yes, sir."
"Good."

So... yeah. I guess the moral of the story is "Don't try and squeeze in a quick lunch at Olive Garden".

ABSOLUTELY FREAKIN CLASSIC!!!!! I love your reason for missing the call. Hell got you out of a hefty ticket so who cares if you missed the call. That unlimited pasta bowl lunch will keep ya there a while..... Hmm sure that New Jersey lawyer Ms. Durga wasn't involved in your stop somehow? Laughing

Wow. I knew what was coming but it was still painful to listen to.

[META] Bungie.net is offline. That seems awful coincidental. I wonder if the veil will be dropped now that things have wrapped.

EDIT: Some questions don't need to be asked.

Looks like all the axons have been unlocked. ARGN doesn't have the assembled file yet. Anybody have an assembled file for today?

The End

*sniffle* This wasn't just a game, this was kinda like camp... we were like family, and now, there is no more campground, at least not the one we're used to... now we have to live and breathe either in the cold "real world" or go to a new camp, with some new faces, and some familiar. I'm definitely bumming right now, despite having one of the DVDs. I need some extra money to buy some souveniers...

as silly as it sounds, I find myself worrying about Durga and their crew... I'm wondering if there will be a follow-up eventually... maybe some stories, or another ARG. (we should be so lucky) ah well, here's to the folks at Bungie, 4ourty 2wo, and the Beekeepers! It's been a wonderful experience! Cheers!
