No. Anyway, I wouldn't expect the movie to delve into mythology at all. If anything, I'd expect them to do that with the webseries, but they've always been very cagey about who/what the Operator is, so if they invented an origin for the movie or whatever I'd actually find it kinda cheap.

ah, ok. well in the movie, that's his MO now. I haven't seen Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones, but it kind of brought that to mind. eventually all the main characters become "marked", and it either stays with them until they die, or the operator finishes with them. I do think it would've been interesting to know more (within the film) about how that symbol came to be associated with him (even the characters in the film comment that it seems like a not-very-creative rip off of the Zodiac killer's symbol)

Frankly I just don't even believe you dude. I doubt anyone has seen a full screening of this film. I demand additional sauce as proof.

I also require awesome sauce as proof. I though the movie was still in production.

Exactly, his only *proof* was a link to a reddit through where only 2 of the people in the thread even knew there was a screening. It's not exactly a hard concept to even think both were him/his friends

there was a time where the unfiction forumers were the smartest kids in the room. it used to make my head spin how savvy they were with scouring the internet and cracking codes, etc.

I don't know if it's just because slenderman series tend to be a more passive viewing experience, but you guys don't seem too open minded or resourceful when it comes to figuring things out.

@gennerx: It is still "in production" in the sense of being in the post-production stage, however I believe all principal photography has been completed. Troy talks about it in one of his blog posts, or it was mentioned by Doug Jones at some point. I do not remember my source for this, so feel free to take it with a grain of salt.

@fanofslender: I've spoken with a few other PMs/creators in the Slender Man community about this on occasion and we agree that this is partially due to it attracting a younger audience.

And there was also a time when people online wouldn't just prance into a community, make a claim, and then not have a single reputable thing to back it up.

It's partially that, however, there was this moment here: http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=35488&start=74

There was a time long ago, back when I was too scared to post because the other forum members were intimidatingly smart. They discovered everything before the 3rd page on the thread. They had come from other sections of this forum, expecting marble hornets to be an ARG. Then there was the age of Tharol, a strange time indeed. Closely followed by the age of rage, this is about when the cries of "filler!" "BAD PRODUCTION!" "I hate this show!" filled the forums, also known as Pravado's time. Around then the slender game was brought to the limelight, new forum members, rather then seeing the genius puzzle solving of days past, saw only shouts about production value. Thinking this was normal fair, they joined the forum acting as they saw their elders act. Now entry threads, rather then being smart discussions, are frothing pits where all you here is cries of "filler" and "bad pacing" until their short attention span leads them elsewhere, and real speculation can start.

Someone should do this... Assuming you didn't sign an NDA that you're breaking by telling us what you have, but I doubt that.

If it was a test screening, maybe. Can't find anything online about he process for it.

Also, I just tweeted to Troy to ask about the claims of screening and the Operator burning symbols into his victims. May be a bit before I get a response. I'll let you know once I do, with links to the response, of course.

Worked for you before, they don't often respond to my tweets at them.

"Troy, was there a screening of the movie recently"
"OMG YES NOW WILL YOU ALL STOP FIGHTING"

an hour later another tweet from Troy

"OK BECAUSE OF ALL THE FIGHTING MARBLE HORNETS WILL END NEXT ENTRY I HATE UF"

Troy comes on screen. Says "Everyone dies. The end. I hate you all".
Part of me wants to see it end that way.

You did it, you made the tweet that made Troy the most buttmad and he actually admitted it Very Happy

Too bad we lost MH because of it. I guess I kind of contributed too by shooting him a message as well lol.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
He's bluffing to get us to shut up right? Right?? :O

EDIT: Just realized you were making an example and he didn't actually tweet that, I need to stop smoking so many drugs.

Okay... locking.

Not because I disbelieve you, or dislike your handling of this or whatever, but because there is a perfectly good topic for this movie already, which you seem to already know because you also posted in IT... and we try to avoid crossposting... so, just keeping things tidy. I may try and merge this over there if one of their mods will cooperate.

Here's that thread:
http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=37201&start=525

No longer relevant now that we've merged the threads. Thanks, Zarggg!
