Nightmare on Elm Street is partially classic because its very campy and cheesy. Same with the series with Jason.

The problem is, I don't think they were really going for cheesy or campy in the first installment (I understand that a great deal of black humor crept into later installments at the actor's insistience) and that, for the most part, this first installment asked to take itself very seriously and well, given the plot holes and the illogical actions of the characters, I just couldn't take it all that seriously.

Hey everyone,

A small request of everyone on the board: guys, please, please, please watch Hannibal when it returns to NBC (not sure when it's going to be broadcasted over here in Australia) If you haven't already, it's a brilliant show, with a brilliant story arc.

I'm not really farmaliar with the Hannibal saga in any other iteration (the gore associated with Silence of the Lambs put me off for years), but I'm really, really enjoying this take and apparently, Fuller has a five year plan for the series, one in which apparently will incoperate elements of the first Hannibal novel Red Dragon in it's final year. The show isn't all that violent and what violience or gore is shown, is dramitically neccessary. Gina Torress of Firefly fame shows up later in the first season a significant role, as does Gillian Anderson (of X-Files fame) Mads Mikkelsen (of Casino Royale fame) plays Hannibal and Jack Fishburne (Morpheus himself!) plays a significant role.

It's a very wonderful intelligient show which isn't dumbed down in the slightest and has great respect for the audience and while critically acclaimed, only managed to obtain a second season by contract, not ratings.

If you weren't there for Firefly, you can be there for a show which is equally as great Smile

If its Morpheus then you must mean Lawrence Fishburne, not Jack.

Wait Jordan, did you just compare Firefly with the Hannibal TV show? And you haven't seen Silence of the Lambs, meaning you probably haven't read it.... Bro, no.

I'm sorry. The only person I can ever see playing Hannibal Lector is Sir Anthony Hopkins. Everyone else is subpar. :V

He's also the only one who can play C.S. Lewis.

Heh, well, I'm enjoying the latest iteration so much, that I don't want to be spoiled for future developments (although Hannibal, I'm told, deviates quite a bit from it's source material, while still being faithful to the core of the series) I've heard that fans of the novels, on the whole, we're quite pleased with the new series, though and enjoyed the new take. Without going into spoilers, why don't you like the new take as much?

And it is Firefly worthy, in my opinion Smile

Intresting. For me, I'm not sure if anyone could surpass Mads at all, because he does Hannibal so well, capturing his insanity and his manipulation so perfectly. I have heard people say that it isn't fair to compare them, as Hopkins and Mads play Hannibal at different stages in their lives and Hannibal goes through a great many chances before he get's to the point he's at in Slience of The Lambs (but, I guess, the series will have to cover to get to that point and then people will compare)

Awesome Slenderman makeup not using the classic cheesecloth hat https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mNgRScW1fkE

Could use a lot less shading if you want to go for more of an operator look.

Hey I'm back. Anybody miss me? What? You didn't realize I was gone? Sad

Anyway I finally caught up with everything again. Rewatched the entire series from Entry 1 and just got caught up now. I stopped after the entry with Masky and Hoodie kidnapping Jessica only to be almost killed by Alex only to be taken out by The Big O.

Surprised at how much has happened, though the time doesn't really make any sense at all anymore. Hope Jay isn't really dead. Hope we get a new entry soon, though I can see it being just more Tim at the campus, discovering Jay's blood and camera.

Wouldn't be the first time I said I thought the end was near, but something tells me this will go on and on and on. As long as there keeps being progress, I don't really have a problem with that as long as the end is good.
