I just did. It said I needed a DVD playback kit in order to watch movies. Translation: no dice.

Bah, why the X-Box live logo then... Big Fat Fakers.

well plug in the dvd kit and try it...

you know how some dvds have a dvd-rom feature that gives you access to special content if you put it in your computer and connect to the internet?

well, what if you can access content via xboxlive from the dvd menu?

I got the DVD in Michigan, Great Lakes Crossing mall.

Only a few people there. It was available at Guest Services.

There's no extra dvd-rom stuff on the disc. I use HTPC as my dvd player, so I rip the disc with dvdshrink and it's a regular dvd-video disc. Pretty cool to see the Farewell bit and unused scenes! Well worthy it.

The Operator's farewell speech is...well, listen to it. It makes me glad to have put my time and energy into this, marketing tool though it may have been.

Oh, and I have a new favorite quote, from Jan's cut scene:

"I can see you on the roof!"
"Does this suicidal risk make me look fat?"

Haha. "They're phonies. Big fat phonies!"

I still enjoyed it. This campaign was what national unity is all about. Screw voting (don't tell your wife I said that, Ed). All of us coming together to figure it all out....beautiful.

Or something Razz

Oh man, you are making me want one all the more. I emailed Dana with my request, hopefully she'll send it my way.

There have been instances when xbox executables have been placed on dvds (like hulk and maybe a starwars one I think) I have an extra box I modded, took a look at the dvd but its only video on there. Also there's one hidden item on the disk. It appears to be an early attempt at kamal with a russian accent, its's title 18 if you can browse directly to it.

So there is no real chapter 13? What we heard on the site was the finale and "chapter 13" is just Melissa saying farewell?

I want this DVD so bad x.x

Oh and for anyone wondering, I was very, very, very active on the bungie.net ILB threads, and lost my internet for two weeks and have finally gotten it back.

Sadly that loss has made it impossible for me to get on the crew or get a DVD =/ Can anyone send some emails to Dana to recommend me?
Specialist Cirrus Strafe

Thanks

At the Tuscon AZ DVD giveaway, one of the movies playing at that theater was "I Heart Huckabees."

Could just be coincidence, and probably doesn't matter, but I was wondering if this movie was playing at any of the other locations as well.

Pretty dissapointing NY event. We all got these raffle tickets that they said would be used to determine who would play and they didn't even use them. After starting at 930, they didn't even allow everyone in the theater to play. They explained it as first come, first serve. Even more frustrating was that we could hear over the communicators at other locations that they were raffling off free stuff. None for us here in NY. I was hoping for at least a final ILB recording, but they just played a 1min clip of todays axons.

What a disorganized event. C'mon MS I know you can do better.

Sorry you didn't get to enjoy it--I got there early and had fun. They actually did use the tickets to let those who got there first get in first, which I think was fair. The theatre was pretty large and loaded to capacity so those who didn't get in just had bad timing.. Here's a link to my report thread...

I was at the Chicago Event. I got to play Halo 2, but not over xbox live, just the 8 player lan (and I owned everyone by 10 points). It was very disorganized, the ticket fiasco... if you were they you know what I mean. It was fun though. Hurry up next week!

I went to the NY event and it was AWESOME. Met some nice dudes on line and everything. One really funny dude made a joke about what the end of the game was (which was very clearly a joke) and some crazy freaking jerk almost tried to pick a fight with him. You NYCers will remember him as the one who screamed "You half-witted jarhead!" What a lame dude, everyone was just trying to have a good time and we'd been on line for like 2 hours. He was like 40 too. Seems he never learned any manners as a kid. Other than that guy everything was cool though, everyone in my area of the line had a great time. I posted pics on my LJ. The link is in my prof. if anyone cares.

I already posted a thread about that. Which one were you? I didn't get any names when I was there. Sad

austin was fun. we had givaways (nya nya!), everyone got to play a round, they plugged halohavoc.com a bazillion and a half times, met some cool people, sat next to a guy from Ion Storm (the broken arm guy), stood in line with machiavelli and astrovanman and a couple other people who's nics/names I've forgotten, drank a couple beers in the theater...

Just got back from Austin.... It was semi-packed. Some people got in even though the Invite list was full.

They gave away:

  • 2 copies of Fable
  • 2 copies of Halo 1
  • 1 Halo Headset

Grand Prize: Special Edition Clear Xbox Console \ Halo 2 LE \ 12 month Xbox Live subcription \ Halo Headset
