Giskard - Here's all the additional info I can think of.
If you will be looking for the playing cards at GPS coordinates all the ones I have found have been hidden in or behind bushes just off the edge of the roadway within 10-20 feet of the listed coordinates. Be careful if using Google as it likes to find the closest address to the coordinates and direct you there instead. You can use "LOC:" in Google Maps to force the exact location. Each card has been placed in an empty water bottle as shown above. Generally the locations chosen have not been well maintained and have other trash nearby.
Good luck if you do head that way!

Okay, I'm back on my normal account. If it's a card in a plastic bottle it may have been thrown away... Or washed away in our recent torrential rains.
But I was looking for an excuse to hack Ingress Portals downtown today anyway.
Glad to see you are back on your normal account! The location in Austin is at the Casino El Camino so following the limited pattern so far it will possibly be taped under a table rather than placed in a water bottle.
Environmental conditions will definitely play a part in finding these. The campground in California has been closed to vehicles due to the rain. The Breckenridge, CO location appears to be under snow. One of my friends was looking for the Vegas card and I could hear the wind blowing while he was on the phone and with the limited vegetation there it was probably blown away.
On the Ingress side of things can you provide a quick recap (or point to somewhere that I could look?) I followed it for a month or two waiting for an iPhone version and then when I was about to get a cheap Android phone it appeared that it was so established that newcomers couldn't get anywhere.

Yeah, I just looked it up. Not open until 11:30 today so I'll definitely have lunch there!
On the Ingress front, I'll just say that I don't think you need an invite code any more, or you can just get one from the Ingress.com. The community is very friendly I found. Is there an Ingress thread here on Unfiction we could move the discussion to? I'll check when I get back from downtown, f not, I'll start one. It's very ARGy.

Enjoy your lunch! It looks like a very interesting restaurant.

A water bottle is much better than the sandwich bag used last year that was usually passed over with the rest of the trash. I have more confidence to go out and look now.

Unfortunately, the only clue is the address of the restaurant. The only two other restaurants I know of that have had cards found have both had them taped under a table but maybe it is hidden somewhere else. Sorry I can't help more.

Was there any response or resolution to this?

I didn't hear anything. No response to emails with questions to the first email address. No response from any of my card submissions to the other email addresses. Zippo.

The game is over... ...and I won!!!! I received the following email from Anonymous.
Quote:
I had not thought someone would finish, but I was wrong. Give me a bitcoin address to send your reward to.
It's the first time I've won Bitcoin as a prize so I will let you all know how much when/if I receive it. The hand I submitted was four 2's and the 3 of Hearts.

Congrats! I got an email telling me the game was over.
I'm sort of disappointed that it's not an actual box with stuff in it. There's the potential for greater mystery there.

Final update Just to close this thread out the prize was awarded to my Bitcoin wallet in the amount of 0.1 BTC. That is approximately $60 at today's exchange rate. Still a cool prize and cool concept. Now what should I do with all the bottles and cards?
