Okay, guys. You know I'm all for needlessly analyzing stuff-- everything from cigarette butts in the parking lot to the doorknobs in the mall, but come on. You've speculated for like, 30-something pages about a deeper, hidden meaning in the video. I think it's pretty obvious what's going on:

Tim has assumed the role of hero because Jay is going down the path of Alex.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I'd also like to think that my Timman posters have skyrocketed Mister Sutton to fame and I'm the reason he's first bill, now.

I think that Jay was perfectly reasonable bringing the knife as a precaution, just in case Tim went masky on his ass. He has every reason to be paranoid given what was on the tape, so I don't particularly think he's going down the path of Alex, yet.

I wouldn't really take Tim's side when he's clearly unstable, and Jay's paranoia at this point seems to be perfectly justified.

I think it's more the whole "Camera is a security blanket deal" and that Jay was practically foaming at the mouth for Tim to give him back the camera. Alex was the same way. The knife thing isn't so much going down the path of Alex (personally I'm surprised more characters aren't packing guns around even if just for personal protection)

Yeah but it could also be that Jay needs the camera to document and spot occurances and see if his memory is being screwed with and cameras aren't really all that cheap.

Yeah, if I had lost 7 months+ worth of memories and the only things I knew had happened for sure were on tapes I had recorded, I would absolutely want to record myself probably near 24/7. Then, if it were to happen again, I would at least have some clue as to what the fuck was going on.

I don't think it'd really matter in that world. With how much tapes and cameras change hands and how much footage is screwed with, even filming events wouldn't be reliable.

Well, versus having absolutely no record would be worse. Keeping some kind of video diary on a hard drive or tape collection would certainly be better than nothing.

Anyone else find it odd that a 5 minute video leads to a 35 page thread.

Yes, usually they're longer.

Ok Sha, I see what you're saying on the whole "SOMETHING is better than nothing deal" but I think it's more drawing the parallels between Alex and Jay

I was rewatching Entry #67 and noticed that Hoody tied Alex to the chair using zip ties. So either Troy used the same idea twice (OOG lazy, IG coincidental), or Hoody somehow influenced Jay into thinking that taking zip ties when he went to see Tim. It wouldn't surprise me if Jay woke up after Entry #82 with some zip ties and a knife in his pocket. Damn, Hoody is manipulative.

To be fair, as far as restraints go zip ties are just kind of a good idea. Effective, quickly applied, more concealable than handcuffs, don't really attract much suspicion when you go buy them because they have so many innocuous uses...

Or Hoody used zipties because he's future Jay.
