My MH Theory
A timeline and theory mashed into one!

You know. I've lurked for too long. I think I'm going to lay down my entire theory of this series.

So, little Tim is stalked by TO. He begins developing an alternate persona.
Mom checks him into a mental hospital. He gets medication that wards TO away, TO gets pissed and burns the whole hospital down.

[He probably made it so Tim does not remember like how Jay doesn't remember getting attacked by Alex after receiving the MH raw footage.]

Years pass, he gets better. He goes to college and meets Alex, Brian, Jay, etc. They make a movie called Marble Hornets, a romantic comedy. But Tim still is being watched by TO. But can't touch him. He won't abandon a target it seems.

Whilst watching Tim, waiting for him to slip, he notices Alex. He sees his leadership qualities, his dominance over others as a director. He likes this.
This could be an opportunity to get Tim AND the rest of the crew! Profit!

He starts after Alex. Making him paranoid, and angry towards others. Eventually, he becomes "marked" via bloody forehead, and starts taking out the other cast members. Seth, Brian, Jay, all offerings for TO. He still want Tim though. He tries to get Alex, now his "body collector" to incapacitate and claim him. But he fails, because Tim has a camera.

[Cameras in this series act as a way to "see the unseen"; to hide behind. A sense of security.]

Alex moves away, but he made one. Fatal. Mistake. He gave Jay the tapes.

[This is the one hole in the series. When Alex "got" Jay after he gave him the raw footage, it is assumed that TO took him. But he isn't "dead" like the others. He's still kicking. WHY?]

Anyway, Tim has med trouble during the years that Jay is afraid to watch the tapes. He develops his "Masky" state.

TO is in a rough patch and still is watching Tim, presumably seeing as though he cannot reach Alex. He is with Sarah, TO doesn't like that.

Jay begins posting the tapes. This is when the s*it hits the fan.

As he is posting them, ToTheArk opens. A cryptic channel that is run by an unidentified number of people. Tim, for sure when he was off his meds, Hoody, who we will get to later, and maybe even Jay. I'll get to that.

Jay begins to be watched by Tim. But his Masky state activity is sporadic at this point. And he attacks Jay, because he is not directly being followed by TO.

Jay tries to find Alex to make sure he is okay. But is ambushed by TO for the first time in the process. TO needs Jay for his camera. He shows so many people his interactions and the tapes, that it actually aids in TO's cause.

But when Alex is recovered, and he is close to Tim once more, Jay isn't needed. And can be consumed. Masky, upon seeing Alex, notices his connection to TO and goes in for the kill. But his leg is broken and he is left for TO.

Alex has regained some of his sanity and wants to find Sarah. TO took her once she put a camera on Alex.

Tim is saved by Hoody, who is by far, the most unknown character in the series, with the cost of devotion to Hoody's cause. Killing Alex Kralie.

Now, at this point, Jay trusts Alex. He doesn't see him as a threat. That changes.

TTA's operator shifts to Hoody from Tim. The videos begin showing hatred toward Alex, and how Tim doesn't hate Alex enough to kill him.
Hoody is also afraid of TO. He runs from it when he encounters it. This shows that Hoody is is a sort of permanent "Maksy" state. He's been so mind fu*ked that is lives in between the states.

Alex and Jay contact Jessica, Sarah's roommate.

Alex is confronted by TO in Rosswood, the park that houses the burned down mental hospital. He reclaims him as his "Body Collector".

Alex calls off the search for Sarah. She doesn't matter to him anymore. Nobody does.

Jay begins watching Alex after a falling out and a few attempts by team ToTheArk (Masky/Hoody) to kill him. And watches him kill an innocent bystander at an old tunnel. Presumably one of many conduits to the Operator's dimension.

TO wants him to kill Jay and Jessica for being in the way of Tim. But Tim, under the guidance of Hoody, saves them from Alex's gun. They run to a hotel together. They stay the night, but TO is pissed with Alex and decides to take matters into his own hands. He goes to the hotel, and fu*ks both Jay and Jessica's heads, deleting the past seven months from both of their memories. They wake the next morning.

[Note: he cannot take them, he needs Alex for that.]

Eventually Jay agrees to tell a confused Jessica everything. But she is taken by Team TTA into Rosswood without Jay noticing. They go out and use her a bait to lure Alex out. And Masky/Tim limps back to the hotel to pick up Jay and get him back on track with all of the tape he has filmed. Meanwhile, Jessica is captured by Alex and is taken to the Rosswood tunnel via fake trust. He tries to put a bullet in her, but Hoody stops him. She runs, but is taken by TO after being shot (presumably) by Alex. Tim finds the tape.

[Hoody constantly mentions the "Ark". But is is VERY unclear as to what it is. It's implied it may be death, Alex, TO, or Rosswood. But all of which are unconfirmed.]

Jay finds Tim, all under medication and controlled. He lies to him for information. But he finds out and punches him. Jay is continually attacked by TO and taunted by Hoody. Hoody tries to indirectly tell Jay that Tim is a liar. That he is not being truthful with him about where Jessica really is. That is now Jay's goal, to find Jessica, because at this point, he still thinks she is alive. Tim has the tape that says otherwise.

But they eventually team up and go searching for Alex and Jessica together (However at this point, Tim is fully aware searching for Jessica is a lost cause).

This happens after Tim's meds are stolen by Hoody and he turns into Masky on camera. He goes to Rosswood, pounces on Jay, and Hoody puts them near each other in a shack.

[This is the big hole in the theory, why Hoody wanted Jay and Tim to team up. Perhaps he wanted them to lead him to Alex. To death. To the Ark?]

But Tim is captured by TO at Rosswood weeks later. He wants to "educate" Tim to not work with the enemy. And takes him to his dimension and throws him around Rosswood via teleportation. He is in Masky state. He goes to the hospital and acts like he did as a child when he was being followed. He ODs on his pills and passes out. Hoody finds him and Alex here. He ties up Alex and watches Tim beat him up. Hoody pulls Alex's gun out and is about to kill him when TO shows up and forces Hoody away.

He won't have anyone kill his only means to get Tim.

Hoody is not liking the fact that Tim is slowly abandoning him with this new medication.

Tim tells Jay the truth about his past and they slowly mend.

They watch the tape that is there left for them by Hoody showing Hoody almost kill Alex. They decide to leave for College town.

But Hoody hacks the YouTube account, showing Alex barge in and uncover his identity (Only to Alex, not the viewer), in an uncaring fashion, and demands to know where the duo went. Alex takes his meds and dumps them. Hoody is low on his own medication, and must stay sane to kill Alex. He goes to Tim's place and steals some more of his pills.

Jay and Tim have been in College Town looking at Alex's old, partially-burned tapes, showing he didn't want Sarah's person to be revealed to the world. It doesn't work.

While searching, TO plants an effective seed into Jay's head at Alex's old home and Tim has a mind battle with TO to protect his friend, now on the ground. Tim's medication scares TO away!

But Jay is now affected like Alex was. And it won't be long until what he tried during the Marble Hornets filming happens again, but with Jay.

So now Tim and Jay are in college town and Jay is completely out of it. Tim shares some of his meds with him. They act as a remedy against his "Slender Sickness". But he is not fond of this act just yet. But in the video that is posted, Hoody breaking into Tim's house, it seems that Alex has been hiding in the attic waiting for his return. Also, there is a tape containing Jessica's fate in his living room. Jay does not know. They go.

Jay discover's a photo in Tim's attic of Amy (Showing Alex has a SHRED of his former self left) and an address to the the college Alex went to to be with Amy. But Tim also tries to hide the tape and fails. Jay becomes violent and forcibly takes the tape of Jessica from him. Tim stated it will ruin everything if he watches it.

He watches it and decides to retrace Alex and Jessica's steps. He goes to the Tunnel, and crosses through it. On the other side, he finds the shack they woke up in. Rosswood has shifted around. TO has shifted it around. He sees TO and frantically calls Tim. Apologetic. But the call is redirected by TO and Jay begins coughing uncontrollably. He falls into the shack, and appears to have a seizure, TO looming over him.

He then goes straight to Tim, knife in hand, with the intent to harm. He isn't completely like Alex yet, but the violence is growing because of Jessica. Tim beats him into submission, and ties him up, then goes to the college to find Alex. While Tim was going there, Hoody finds Jay and cuts him loose, and claims it's his "last chance". Perhaps his last chance to find Alex, or the Ark?

Tim pokes around with the groundskeeper and finds a maintenance tunnel there. He gets it open while Jay finds pictures of Alex being held by Hoody, binded.

Jay then watches Benedict Hall, where the Ark is presumably to be found.

He goes, after Tim stumbles out of it. He looks around, and is shot by Alex. He struggles into a room, lies against a wall, and is taken by TO. He isn't needed any longer. Alex took care of him. Jay did his duty, Tim is there. Jay has been led to Benedict Hall, to Alex, To death, to the ark. Alex, or more appropriately, the body collector is the ark, to freedom, survival, TO.

Now only Tim remains. Hoody stole his pills, and allowed Alex to escape. He finds Jay's camera and returns home. He is now in control of the channel.

Tim and Hoody. Hoody and Tim. Tim returns to the college, off his meds and slipping. But here's where the theory ends. Hoody claims Tim has one more secret to share, and tries to get him to go masky and join him in one last Alex Kralie hunt. TO is royally pissed off at this point and puts his foot down. He throws Hoody and Tim around time and space, Tim unmasks Hoody, but it is not captured on camera. They run around, and Hoody eventually jumps off the edge of a balcony in order to escape Tim. But it seems like he lands incorrectly, and is knocked out.

Tim grabs the pills and a tape that was on Hoody just before TO's cooldown is over. He lunges again, and Tim makes a break for it. As he leaves it seems like he goes masky in a flurry of distorted visuals. But it also seems like other footage from different cameras made its way onto the footage as well, most likely from the future.

But what are they of? When will hoody make a comeback? What is on that really special tape? And how will this battle between Tim and TO end? All will be revealed soon my little MH junkies. All will be revealed soon...

You've got Sarah, Amy and Jessica confused.

EDIT: Also, if TO is protecting Alex in Entry 67 because Alex is how TO is getting to Tim... Then that's stupid, because Tim was right there.

Yeah, whoops he left for Amy, not Sarah. My guess on 67 is that Tim ran away with Hoody because he was already in his Masky state. Even if he didn't have the mask.

Well Tim would flee TO, yeah. But if he's using Alex to get Tim, why didn't TO get him any of the multitude of times Tim got owned? Alex popped Tim with rebar in the hospital in '06 and TO specifically walks right in on he and Brian in a room with no other exit... He was in Alex's house with Brian and Tim while the power was out and they were basically defenseless... Alex broke Tim's leg with a rock in about Entry.... 35? Was it? Can't remember for sure the number right now. He wrestled Alex for a gun that went off in 52. In 67 TO appeared with Tim once again in the hospital. Hell, when Tim gets all Masky-like, he usually just goes to Rosswood of his own accord, its like a little Timmy buffet. And look at 83 - with all that warping power, why does he need Alex for shit? I don't think Tim can get "caught" any more so than in 65, so there must be something else going on.

Also, a person (assuming they are not a child) has to be incapacitated, or gravely injured to the point of not being able to breath to be taken. Tim was just off his meds. And he was an adult. If he was a child, then sure, but he is more resilient than that.
