[Trailhead] Division 66

Received an email from ordersSPLATdivision-66.com with the following message titled "Division 66 to all inactive agents":

Quote:

Importance: HIGH

www.division-66.com

This is not a drill.

The http://division-66.com/ website is interesting but I haven't been fruitful in getting anything from it either by exploring the site (nothing more than a fuzzy video on repeat), the page source, or the WhoIs.

In relation to above:

If you wait long enough you get someone saying "Captain William Patrick reporting to base."

You're right--I guess I shouldn't be so impatient ;p
For those who are impatient, you can see the Captain video here

My Whois search turned up a connection to http://www.humanequation.co . They put together The Secret World ARG.

You might notice that currently, this is the "This week sponsored by" at the top of your UF page. But since that gif (which links of course to http://www.division-66.com/ ) won't always be there... I'm going to do this for the sake of keeping record for future users:

I know nothing at all about this game, but I wasn't sure if the image is important, given "Alata" and "83-72-7" are in red. And i have no clue what the image in the hexagon is but the website is full of cute little hexagons so maybe important {maybe just flair, don't know}

This is the standard (XML) error message for Amazon S3 buckets that are protected from viewing. Doesn't mean anything in this context.

By the way: Hello, I'm new.

Not sure if this is relevant, but we have hexagons and 83 72 7 is the chemical ID of Lawsone:

http://chem.sis.nlm.nih.gov/chemidplus/structure/83-72-7

Which is uh...

Interesting?

Very interesting. So this more than likely means nothing BUT I have found something of interest that could connect Lawsone and alata together. Lawsone is a compound known as hennotannic acid found in a plant known as Lawsonia inermis that is used to make Henna.

Now what does alata have to do with Henna (again this is a stretch) but there is a plant known for it's medicinal properties called Senna alata.

Senna is a genus/type of plant. One of the many plants included in the senna genus is Senna italica also known as neutral henna as it can replicate some of the same properties as Henna.

So after all of that research what does that achieve? Nothing xD but I thought that it was interesting none the less.

I think they must have gotten my email from the post-your-email thread here. I didn't sign up for anything (at least that I remember) since I've been pretty AWOL for nearly a year now.

Boy does that video load like dial up. 10 minutes for a 5 second clip.

I just clicked on the sponsored this week title- which btw

not to sidebar, but I'm wondering are ARGS paying to be sponsored on this site?

Is it me or does their website appear fake?

Yes, it's common. It helps to bring attention to them (without posting a trailhead themselves) and also supports the site that has a large user base of ARG players.

I could see where you might get that but it's just the website for the creators to show off their work and bring in business. It's OOG so let's not worry about it.
