Yes. I actually said the words "Who do you think you're kidding?" out loud at one point as I watched. There had better be a celebrity guest star under that mask or something, with all this buildup. Or HABIT. That would actually be pretty funny.

Turns out that Hoody is actually Morgan Freeman. What a twist!

Or maybe Hoody actually has a bright patch of light where his head should be and that was his real face we saw when he got unmasked.

So Hoody is one of the aliens from 'Cocoon'?

We know Hoody and co. cause distortion under great stress, and with how paranoid Hoody is about being unmasked the threat of Tim ripping his mask off could've freaked him out enough to glitch the camera. Just a thought.

That does not lessen my sense of being jerked around at all. Evil or Very Mad

So I normally don't post here, but I'm trying to figure out how they did hoody falling down 2 floors. I see where they did a cut (Tim conveniently leaning so close the camera goes black) But we still see hoody let go of the ledge. Did they just have a ton of mattresses down there to catch him, then remove them during the cut? Is whoever did it dexterous enough to grab onto the little ledges on the side?

Mattresses or crash mats or something like that, I'd say.

It isn't really that far of a drop. The actor could have probably landed bent-kneed then layed down.

Maybe, but I doubt that they would have done it this way. It's enough of a drop for it to be unsafe, especially if you're trying to go down backwards.

I've stated it before and i'll do it again.

I sold my soul to Troy Wagner.

Thats all i have to say about #83.

Well, a third (plus others maybe) could've stood below and spotted the guy playing Hoody when he makes the drop, then quickly move out of the frame (i.e. Joseph was down there spotting Hoody, and maybe Troy too, since, you know, dead Jay in scene with Tim and a Hoody that didn't look tall enough to be Joseph so Hood's proper actor was in this one I think). I mean, I've done some minor acting, mostly stage, and when possible I always insist on doing all my stunts for real, to help immersion. If an actor is supposed to slap or punch me, I'd rather take it for real and improve the scene... I mean that's just me, but frankly what we're talking about isn't an insane level stunt or whatever. I would've just dropped down, and if I was playing a main character in a YouTube series with millions of views, I DEFINITELY would have just dropped down to avoid a shitty/obvious jump cut.

But, back to the point, it's the actual production of him that seems off to me. Can't quite place it, but his appearance hasn't had the same impact for me that it once did. Not talking about the difference between being played by an actor or being a mannequin either, there's just something about it that doesn't seem as well done as it once did.

You're not alone. I felt the same way watching the more recent entries. Even though I don't doubt there's someone there, it feels lately like he's just an image added in during post. Maybe it's because he's mostly been far away and rigidly still lately, as opposed to moving around a lot (well, relatively speaking) in season 1.

In any case, the editing in 83 was just stellar. When it was over I just sat there with my jaw hanging open. That chase alone was something else, but the emotional punches this entry threw around were some real humdingers.

About our beloved Operator: I really dislike him in Season 3, at least when he stands in background: he's so still and he's head is bloated/big. Really loved him in season 1, when he was more of a stalker than a background detail (although lately he's more and more pro-active).

His legs in Entry #54, his creeping through the tunnel in Entry #60, and his reach o' doom in Entry #80 were wicked creepy and unsettling, though.

He looked quite menacing in Entry #82, I thought, until he appeared in the shack. Something was off there, even though it wasn't enough to throw off the power of the entry.

Sidebar: The thread's far enough along that I shouldn't need spoilers here, right? I'm new to Unfiction.

To me, it seems like they have been filming Season 3 with the intention of people watching it in the DVD or in one sitting. When you watch what is out of S3 in one sitting, it feels like a movie, rather than a web series. While this is not bad, it's a weird change of film making in my opinion.

That's a good point. Entries #66, 67, and 75-77 also seem more like eps of a TV series that has been digested for fanboy binge viewing. (Again, I don't necessarily have a problem with that, but it does start to feel less like a web series.)
