[Halo 2][POSSIBLE Spoilers] ILB A Massive Part Of Halo 2? Okay, I read in a magazine with a review of Halo 2, in a "True or False" section, that the Master Chief has a 'sidekick' in the game that is female, dresses in some of the worst ways given some of the situations they get in together, and is a Spartan. Now, the whole idea of the True/False section is to keep you guessing until Halo 2 comes out. However, this one... it stood out to me. Female, dresses in the worst ways given the situation... Jan. Without a doubt, Jan and the other Spartans will be fighting off the covenant, and Jan could possibly be going into covenant space with other 1.1's and Durga... who is to say that Jan and the MC meet up on the battlefield, and they go into covenant space TOGETHER, with the other 1.1s?
I really have no doubt that we will see some characters from ILB in Halo 2. If even only for a split second. ESPECIALLY Durga. A rogue AI is going to be a huge aid on the battlefield, and I can really see the MC getting a mysterious message from an AI we all know and love so very much. Besides, there are going to be a lot of questions, and I bet the MC is going to be able to answer a lot of Durgas, an Durga is going to be able to answer a lot of the MC's.
I know the nature of the ARG beast is usually to leave the characters featured out of whatever the ARG was leading up to-if anything. However, I consider everything that has happened all too convenient, and I really do expect to see the MC fighting alongside Durga, Jan, and possibly the other characters in ILB as well. Hell, god knows I would so love to see Jersey out on the battlefield in his tank, saying 'DAAAAAAMN' when he comes face to face with one of those huge robotic crab things.

I'm almost 99.9% sure that ILB doesnt play a huge role in Halo 2. The biggest reason I believe this is because this ARG was most likely made after the story of Halo 2 was nearly completed. And it would have delayed the game a little longer if they decided to include them.
There may be a few story references that match ILB and thats about it. I dont think Durga, Jersey, etc will make an appearance in the game either since we have yet to see visuals of the characters. Guess we wont know untill November 9th... for those of us who havent played Halo 2 yet :p

that said the ILB game could be based on events in Halo2. As though they already had a sidekick called Jan a 1.1 and they decided to include her in the promotional game...

Hate to be the one to point it out, but... read First Strike. All is pretty much revealed. After all, Dr Halsey is seen piloting a ship in the new trailer...
ILB's involvement is explaining a bit more about how the Covies got the coordinates for Earth and why they aren't just glassing us from existence.

There's no ILB easter eggs in H2, according to the Chicago PM.

the only link ILB has to Halo 2 is that the Covenant came to earth from a signal from the artifact. That's all people need to know, playing Halo 2, that brought to story around... they might talk about how the artifcat got to earth, but that's it... so no, there's no blunt reason to have ILB a part of Halo 2... it would be nice though.

So we'll never know if Durga went fully rampant?
Or would having a second AI that was part of the full story not be considered an easter egg?

Daaaamn..
I was really hoping to find out what happens to Jersey and the 1.1s, does Kamal & crew survive the destruction of the west coast, and what happens to Roni of course.
Loved the story - which of course is why I'm looking for more. I always want to know what happens after the story ends ... of course most stories don't end with the invasion of earth from a technologically advanced alien race.

From what has been implied about the amount of material for the HALO universe - they probably could do a novel without the Master Chief in it.
It's all a matter of finding an appropriate author.
If they did do a novel about the our reluctant heroes, I could see a large number of ILB fans picking up a copy.

I read somewhere that ERIC NYLUND was talking with producers at bungie. He had a coment of something to the effect of "We have a lot of great ideas...", when asked about another book.

Halo has now gone way past the story in the video game, It has become an epic story that people will remember for years to come. I cant imagine what would happen if they did a movie....

Yes! Books! Films! Job At Bungie! (well, okay, maybe the last is a bit much). But myself requires more knowledge of this wonderful Halo world. So well thought out, so planned. Bungie, et. al, thou art great.

I'm always spouting off the Haloverse is being as complex or large as even the Star Wars or Star Trek universe... not quite, but it has that potential... definitely...
