State of the Board, 2014: The VLOGS Okay... time for my annual board clean up... here is what I have discovered:
We have approximately 100 Open Vlog Trailheads. Down from 196. In this category I placed series that have posted within the past year. Note that only 63 of these have posted within the past 6 months however.
We have 11 Completed Series.
We have approximately 89 Abandoned Series. I define this as any series that has not posted new material in a year or more, but still exists on the web.
We have approximately 134 Dead Series. Up from 74. I define this as series where the videos have been deleted and/or the channel has been closed or made private.
We have approximately 63 Ongoing Series. Down from 93. I define this as a series that has posted a new video to their channel within the past 6 months. Following is a list of trailheads for those series:

I am considering going back through and marking series that have not updated in a considerable amount of time as "ABANDONED." What do you guys think is a reasonable amount of time? No posts in a year? 2 years?

Man, you are generous. I'd say 6 months with no activity is pretty much DEAD.

Nah. It'd be more accurate to say that I'm lazy. A goodly portion of SM series can go 6 months or so without an update (the two most popular pretty much didn't post all winter) so setting the threshold that low means I have to be more active in changing the tags. With a 1 or 2 year time frame it is unlikely that they are going to revive, so I won't have to worry about changing the tags a second time.

This makes sense. I'd say a year.

I second that. A year sounds reasonable.
And thank you again, CoA, for doing all of this. I can't imagine how much you do for this sub-forum.

This, I'm dedicated to the vlogs but not as dedicated as some of y'all around here. You should give yourself a pat on the back CoA.

Lazy? If you'd be a lazy person you wouldn't even bother with making a 'State of the Board' and than go to mark all abandoned series.

Okay... updated to reflect the "Abandoned Series." I also added a category for "Completed Series."

The Ashes to Ashes 000 link goes to A Nightmare that Became a Reality.
