(Since I failed to mentioned it earlier because I was expressing my frustration with some aspects of the entry, the scene from 02:26 to 02:42 is pure gold in my opinion. The THAC guys often criticize their own acting skills, but in this scene, Alex is delivering such a good performance. How he expresses so much hope without looking to the camera, listening whether the steps will come to him, and the complete despair once he realizes that the person does not want to come to his audition. I really love that scene.)

ME TOOO!! Joseph did a great job, he looks so upset and I actually felt SO sorry for the little shit. I agree they all did really convincing jobs portraying their pre-Operated selves.

Ooh boy, confrontation next. Badass tim waiting, probably in a chair watching his door, holding the knife hoody left for Jay, waiting. Just waiting for that shitbreath alex to arrive. But tim will be ready

In entry #20 Tim comes in commenting on how cold it is, wearing the infamous tan jacket. In #84 Brian comes in commenting on the cold, wearing the infamous yellow hoodie. Nice callback. And interesting in that Tim was not wearing the tan jacket this time.

Pretty sure he was wearing the orig. Masky jacket here. The black one we saw in his debut.

Unless he's ambushed because he still hasn't bothered to secure his damn bedroom window. Seriously, Tim, nail the fucker shut if you have to.

I notice Brian and Alex greeted each other by name here, so they knew each other before the MH shoot. I have to say, if not for the fact that Alex had no idea who Tim was, I'd be tempted to think he was just using the people he knew as "characters" for his little project. Although with the possibility that Tim actually adopted the personality of the character he was playing... No. not going there; this is Marble Hornets, not Everyman HYBRID.

I was wondering whether or not the footage after the auditions had any significance. Sure, TO shows up, but it wasn't really needed. Was it just predictable nightmare fuel, or was it telling us something?

It could be a reminder of how far back TO was stalking Alex - before the actors for MH were even hired. It could also hint at the possibility of Alex meeting TO only after meeting Tim, as if Tim brought TO to him. Alex seemed surprised and annoyed at the camera screwing up, as if it hadn't happened before. This took place on the same night that he met Tim for the first time. Coincidence? I think not.

I just wanted to interject that we can't call the house from Season 1 abandoned anymore, because totheark was living there, and totheark is Hoody, and Hoody is Brian, and it was Brian's house. If Brian was living in Brian's house than it wasn't actually abandoned, it was just owned by a crazy mother fucker.

To everyone debating if Hoody is actually Brian or not, lets look at the evidence.

Brian and Tim are good friends - Hoody and Masky are as well, seen in the entry where they almost kill Alex.

Brian was wearing the same freaking hoody. It would be bad writing if Trosephim didn't want that to tell us that Brian is hoody. Sure, it may be a little bold doing it as they did, but really, why would they have Brian wear the Hoody, then have Tim make the direct connection?

And the tape carried by Hoody, this entry, is also rather significant. Why would someone who isn't Brian carry around a tape that seems to personify the innocence of Brian and Tim before their involvement? The tape clearly seemed to be of some value to Brian, which is why he carried it around.

Or was he? Let's not forget that the guy was a psycho who wandered everywhere, even lived in Rosswood at one point. And it looked pretty abandoned to me. I know Hoody probably isn't one to clean up, but who would leave a bloody sink like that, or a floor covered in paper?

I think someone else might have mentioned this but the significance could be that Alex's first encounter with TO was right after meeting with Tim for the first time.

Joseph would be a really fine silent actor. Not that he can't deliver lines--he's become much better at that, I think, both as the show's evolved and as the THAC shorts have accumulated--but he's adept at facial expressions (and not just mugging) and at small gestures. If you've never seen the THAC short "Joseph Listens to Jazz," see it. In (I think) the very first minute, he pulls off this facial expression that makes much of the movie as darkly funny as it is when his character finds an abandoned record player (saying any more about the scene would kill it for those who haven't seen it).

Tim's good in that short too. He's definitely the most accomplished of the trio and probably of everyone in Marble Hornets.

Yeah. What if he somehow lost the house (it was impounded or something) and snapped and kept breaking in? But then there's still the bullet casing, and Alex is the one with the gun in Seasons 2 and 3.

This is back story we may never get brought to the fore, of course. Just as we may never know why Brian was late showing up in Entry #20, I think it was (the one where Jay, Alex, and an unidentified cameraperson discuss changes to the script, and Tim arrives very ill).

It's also possible he was running his TTA activities somewhere else and wasn't actually living there. Masky is the only one we actually see there (and may have been responsible for the early videos), so Hoody may have been directing things from a distance and not actually living there anymore.

Just playing devil's advocate, though. I fully believe Hoody would be the sort to leave his house in that kind of state while still living there, bloody sink and all.

Watching again, this video is definitely symbolic and meant to give closure, we just don't know in what regards yet.

It will more likely be a look back to Brian/Hoody when this is all said and done, and how the dialogue in the script relates to him. Same goes with Tim: Tim wasn't a malicious guy, had very few freinds, and "became" the Tim from the marble hornets script over time, sideburns and all.

Something that tugged my heartstrings just a little: Tim informs us that the chestcam has completely stopped working, so he'll have to use Jay's camera from now on. The symbolism of Tim carrying on in Jay's stead using his fallen friend's own camera got to me. Just like the symbolism of Jay's camera being left behind when The Operator finally took him.
