To be honest, after the pipe incident several entries ago, I think they just wanted to make damn sure there was no question about the reveal.

Oh for Christ's sake. Tim never said that the hoody "proved" anything. He observed that they were wearing the same hoody, and commented on his beliefs that Hoody was Brian, but never did he explicitly link those two thoughts. Is it not possible that maybe he figured out because of the tape being in Hoody's pocket and various other things pointing towards this fact, and the fact that they were even wearing the same hoody just being one final piece of damning evidence?

My out of game reasoning was this: The entry where Tim gets beat by Alex, who was using a pipe/piece of rebar. Everyone on the forums cried that it was a wooden stick and shouldn't have made the sound it made. So, very next entry Jay specifically fucking points out that it was a goddamn pipe to ensure that every fucking body got the fact that it was a pipe and not a stupid stick. This time around, it looks like they cut out the middle man and just fucking went for pointing out the detail they fucking wanted you to see. Not my fault they have to cater people who can't be bothered to really pay attention to the narrative.

Just playing devil's advocate here, because I do believe that Hoody is confirmed to be Brian, but in entry 19 Jay states that he believes that TTA is Masky. So, there is a precedent for the narrator pointing out something that proves to be false.

In seaoson 1 Maskey was supposed to be TTA.

When I read Tim's comment I took that as him berating himself for not spotting it sooner. Like, "Damn it, I've seen Brian wearing that same hoody before, how the hell could I have missed it for so long?" I personally didn't see Tim pointing out the hoody as irrefutable proof that he was Brian. I feel like Troy and company went so far out of their way to point out what was already obvious that it almost came full circle and has some people doubting. Or it has them thinking Tim is a dope.

I think Tim's comment is what's responsible. It could've been handled better. Imagine he had said, "Brian was [even] wearing the same hoodie that day during the audition." Single word changes the whole context, because it points out that Tim obviously knows that there is other evidence and is merely remarking on a coincidence he should have spotted sooner.

JUst what I think anyway.

Well, I guess that is my opinion in a nutshell. Maybe I just have to settle with it. I mean, I never "really" doubted that Brian is Hoody, but this got me curious. I was just unhappy with that text at the end. And therefore, I moved to this thread to express my unhappiness. If all of this was just to make "fucking" sure that everyone gets the solution of this 3 year mystery, they could have chosen the 11 words to do so say more carefully.

"Oh he's wearing the same Hoody" isn't going to convince anyone dead set against Hoody being Brian. The most "obvious" way to reveal the identity is to actually unmask him onscreen. Even then, you'd probably have people determined to find some convoluted way to cling to their theories.

They pulled the unmask trick when they revealed Tim to be Masky.

And I think it would be difficult to argue that wasn't a better reveal. Probably helped that we knew that Tim would come back, & therefore we would get more answers.
