He was putting it off. He didn't want to kill Jay, but knew he had to. It wasn't until things got worse and the stress finally broke him that finally pulled a gun on him.

This is one of those theories where everything sounds very well thought out, interesting and clever but in the end will never be able to be proved or disproved using purely IG evidence. This usually means that while you have an excellent fan theory, you are also wrong. For example you theorize that Hoody knows something hardcore, abstract and complex, but we can't be sure he even "knew" his name was Brian without carrying the 84 tape on his person at all times.

If this theory were the case, Jay would have foreshadowed it at least once. Maybe Hoody knew, and Alex knows, but Jay never knew and if Tim knows he's certainly going to fight it and not give in - just as he has all his life it seems. But Jay is the hole in your idea. He wanted answers, not death. He had had so many seemingly close brushes with death, many of which he probably didn't even properly remember, that he may have no longer feared death (hence his continued forays into abandoned, dangerous places, often at night) but I never got the impression that he for some reason "knew he had to die".

Also I gotta point out how amusing this thread is. I present for you all a simple comprehensive timeline of Marble Hornets, so you can follow along at home at your own pace.

-Marble Hornets posts theory of his own with minimal concrete evidence after a full year of bullshit and expects us to treat him and his idea respectfully
-in a shocking turn of events (not) he becomes overly defensive and posts short, rude replies and gifs in his own discussion about his own theory

Hilarious.

I know you're setting up some humor, but this is actually one of the most disturbing statements about any of the MH characters that's been made on Unfiction.

I never said Jay knew about this. Re-read what I wrote for him again.

You said right there in the title, "they all know it".

[THEORY] EVERYONE ON UNFICTION HAS TO LIVE WITH HIM, AND THEY ALL HATE IT.[/u]

NEXT TIME, ON HBO'S HIT NEW SHOW, "TALES FROM UNFICTION", watch the laughter unfold as "Marble Hornets" (Jack Gleeson) attempts to fool his roommates into thinking that he's got a really good idea, but with each interaction, Serum (Sean Bean) discovers a conspiracy theory deep at the roots of Marble Hornets's very existence. However, it turns out this theory may very well go all the way to the top, as Zargg (Sean Connery) puts out a statement and Serum mysteriously vanishes. Together, Sha Noran (Emma Watson) and twistedpuppet (Jennifer Lopez) must uncover what's really going on, all the while, an unprecedented romance brews between unsuspecting partners, threatening to tear the whole operation asunder.

Indeed, quite disturbing. We've thought all along that Hoody/TTA had some master plan, yet he keeps a tape on him to remember who he is... Granted he may have had that tape just in case of emergency, i.e. full scale slenderwipe, so that's something to consider, but still.

I don't know why, but Jack Gleeson playing the part of MarbleHornets is too damn perfect lol.

SPOILERS IF YOU HAVEN'T YET SEEN TALES FROM UNFICTION

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The ending reveals that MarbleHornets doesn't have any dark secret, he's just an asshole, but by this point the audience doesn't mind this reveal because they're far more invested in the conspiracy involving the arch-villain Hermann Fegelein and his clone army, and the approaching return of Pravado. And the true mastermind behind the conspiracy is Rocky the dog, naturally.

I've just been waiting for someone to snark me back & name things that don't know that they're going to die.

Maybe the series is leading up to them all meeting at a certain restaurant..? But aeriously, I just feel that Alex is a stone cold killer.

Jesus, think about it.

What if all Hoodie actually knew was what was on the tape? It'd certainly make his relationship with Tim/Alex very interesting, as he'd probably see from the tape that he was friends with both. Hm.
