That is a stretch for no reason but being imaginative.

I think I would agree that Tim was not in "Masky" state during Entry 65. Sure, he seemed like it when Jay saw him in the car, but at the hospital, he was definitely.... something else. It looked like once he got to the hospital, his memory of his entire life since he was a kid in the hospital was erased, essentially turning him into his single digit self. We've never heard Masky speak, except for some grunts on a few occasions. Maybe he went Masky after he blacked out and attacked Alex, though.

yeah i have no idea what you're talking about with tim's life being "erased"

you can't be implying that there's a third state to tim... that would be insanity

Sorry about that. What I meant was, Tim temporarily lost all of his memory from since he was a kid, essentially turning him into an eight year old in an adult's body. That's the impression I got from watching Entry 65. I'm assuming his near suicide brought Masky out, which is what brought Tim back later.

I think that the regression that Tim underwent was an aspect of the Masky state. Apparently there's more to being Masky than just tackling everything.
Remember him frantically saying "Where is it? I knew I left it here!" I think he was looking for his mask.

Maybe Masky is the part of Tim's mind that never forgets his suffering. He's angry and lashes out blindly. He's still limping from the broken leg that healed two years ago. And he's always drawn back to the places that hurt him most: the hospital and Rosswood Park Maybe the sane Tim can only function by walling off what he's been through in some dark corner of his mind...but Masky is the part of him that's also walled off in that corner.

I'm not sure what the significance of the mask itself is. It might be a totem that allows Masky to get into character, so to speak. Or it might be a kind of security blanket.

That's completely right, and for a second there I thought you wouldn't even know how flashbacks worked. But good, I'm relieved I don't have to explain the fact that Alex had attempted to murder Tim in the past and had succeeded in murdering people and that Jay and Tim were on the run from Alex-- on the run from a very scary man with a gun-- and that flashbacks are normally triggered by seemingly casual things like phone calls from, say, the exact scary people we are running from. Oh, and of course the fact that Tim has had a traumatic childhood of unknown mental health disorders so naturally it's logical to suppose he's particularly sensitive to triggers-- I'm glad I don't have to explain that either. Very Happy

I'm really glad I don't have to explain all that and that you agree it makes sense. Y'know, I don't get why people give you so much flak. You call yourself Marble Hornets because you clearly understand and adore the series, and not many people are polite enough to be honest about when they think a theory with evidence behind it makes sense!

I mean, I kind of imagined the Operator appearing and teleporting him around triggered his mental change. His actions in the hospital fit, to a tee, what Tim described as his childhood experiences in the hospital, so it clearly is some kind of childhood flashback. Jay also questions why Tim ran off to the hospital in 57 after the Alex attack/Operator appearance in 56, which seems to be for similar child flashback reasons.

But I think Masky may always be some kind of childhood flashback. In 63 Jay mentions to Tim that his medical records, our first piece of information on Tim's childhood, helped him find where Tim ran off to after his seizure in 61. This is because the records say Tim ran off to Rosswood Park as a child, which Tim later admits in 66. And of course it's Masky who ran off there in 62. Plus, Tim does wake up as Masky in 67 after his 66 experience, so there must be some sort of link at the very least.

Is this Tim's first tweet?

Since this is Jay's twitter account, and the latest tweets have only been to announce new entries. Is this Tim's first commentary tweet?

No, he posted a couple of Tweets before, back in July, when Jay was "out of it."

One tweet is hardly a sign of a new Twitter Marathon. If anything, it translates to "Hey, sorry the new entry is taking so long! Here's a bone! Who's a good boy!? You are, internet! Yes you are!"

If you get two, maybe three tweets, then we can talk Tweetpocalypse.

Marble Hornets... tweeted?

with the pic, we can assume that Alex will attack soon. I think it'll probably come Thursday. Maybe tonight if we're lucky.
