Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I have been reading so many threads since I joined this forum, enjoying them, but I am seriously disgusted with what Serum suggested about MH (the user)! He has caused trouble in the past but from what I've seen he's improved quite a bit, but even if he hadn't, telling someone to kill themselves is wrong, pure and simple! I honestly don't understand why, if you have a problem with another member, either 1. tell a mod about it or 2. ignore said post, it's really not that difficult! I haven't said anything before now because I've been trying to ignore the drama, but if this is the way people are going to act, maybe I should just leave.

I don't have a problem with it because it's just a message board, and on other boards I've been told much worse (there actually is worse--especially when you actually get to know some fellow posters in person; there's someone telling you to off yourself and someone who tells you something that makes you want to off yourself, and in most cases one is clearly worse than the other). I don't go around suggesting it to others, and I'm pretty damn sure that no one here really wants anyone else to actually act upon it (I myself don't, anyway). But the only real issue to be had with it is whether Unfiction or at least the mods of a particular board outlaw it. If it's against their rules, it shouldn't be done.

I can almost envision someone creating an Unfiction Marble Hornets version of a rather infamous Chick pamphlet that fostered misunderstanding of the Dungeons and Dragons craze long ago (that it was the "gateway game" into Satanism and encouraged players to kill themselves) out of this. (If you've never seen the pamphlet, you should Google it. One of the dumbest, vilest, most hysteria-inciting things written [if it didn't circulate among a very small subsection of an already small group of Christian fundamentalists, that is].)

I really don't give a shit whether Serum and MarbleHornets are different people than each other or are two of pravado's twenty odd personalities or sock puppets or whatever (the styles are all different, though that doesn't mean that someone can't be a talented writer and write in several different voices, but, still). They're entertaining as hell, even though I don't really care for MarbleHornets's cantankerous GIFnastics or self-certainty about why every other poster's observation is wrong, dumb as hell, or wrong and dumb as hell. And whoever says "Just ignore them and don't get emotionally involved" is rather wise (so far as message board wisdom goes). Because Marble Hornets the series/ARE is wrapping up very soon, and those of us who are here to post observations and discuss theories and how we're excited or disappointed or somehow both and neither about how the final arc's closing should be focusing on that. I didn't create my account for any of that other horseshit. I created it to take a break from work or to hope to break writer's block by discussing one of my favorite series with others who I assume hold it among their favorite series, or are at least fans of it.

Also sound words. I concur. After all, it is just the internet. A lot of people are acting like we're at church and I pissed in the holy water. Relax, people.

No problem. After all, what is a troll, if he has no troll remorse-- if not from time to time? Wink

EDIT: What is it about message boards that just brings out the worst in us? Confused

Dude, ain't it fuckin' obvious? We can't see and hear each other and yet we're reading and responding to each other on a personal computer, tablet, or other device, which puts us in the odd situation of being both hermetically sealed off from the outside world and intimately connected with a representative or representatives from it.

It's eerie isn't it? Like looking into the future...

Well, I'd also like to apologize to our resident mod Zarggg, as I was blindly being a dick without having assessed the situation after being away for so long.

And while I'm apologizing to people I'd like to take this opportunity to apologize to everyone from the state of New Mexico-- that one's unrelated to the message board but, yeah. Sorry, New Mexico... for... the incident.

Off-topic while sorta on it, has anyone ever read E.M. Forster's "The Machine Stops"? Foretold by more than a half-century the Internet and the lazy, disengaged, complacent gastropods it's made of all of us. Jesus.

EDIT: SANS all the constant exchanging of such epithets as "poopyhead" and "pravado," that is.

Not even the greatest minds of the 20th century could have predicted the horrors of internet lingo.

Soap's in the fridge. I don't know why, but that's where it is.

Zarggg's head is going to explode at how off topic we've gotten. Confused

Oh well, this is all going to be closed down by August, anyway. Cool

We need to sweep up in here. Confused

Let's bring it all back ON topic, then.

So... I think that this latest entry offers irrefutable evidence that TTA was NOT Brian but was Amy from an alternate universe in which she was a male who could alter his body size depending upon the set location and had both teleporting ability and a flame retardant hoody...

This is the greatest bit of internet lingo I've ever read, by the way.

Who said we'll be closed in August? Sure, the series will (hopefully) be done by then, but we're all forgetting something: the movie. When that comes out, I guarantee you people will be finding ways to tie it to the series, and relevant discussion will begin anew.

Speaking of which, whatever happened to the Operator movie? I'm hoping they moved it to Halloween after seeing how weak their competitors (Paranormal Activity) are at the moment, but that's just me hoping because I really want this to do well.

I imagine they're waiting for Wagner et al. to wrap up Marble Hornets.

I kinda thought he looked a little bit oppressive here, as if he had some sort of control over Tim. Granted, that's after reading Entry #83 back in time and into this one.

I don't know which entry you discuss when Brian laugh, but if Brian truly done that to Tim, I would be so sad. Sad Or maybe there was something else.

If Brian truly Hoody, one of TTA, has encounter TO even before Alex, the only one who didn't get same effect of Slender sickness (which mean he remember it) and they all were childhood friends, Brian probably thought "We can't stop TO if he didn't appear again." So he bring Tim to the audition so he could meet Alex. After TO appear again, he then silently observing them without we know it.

In Entry #84, after Brian says his first name to the camera at the audition and Alex tells him to say his full name, Brian jokes that "Brian" is his full name and then starts laughing. It seems innocent, and I think it is. But the way he interacts with Tim makes me think that he's clearly the more dominant figure in the duo.
