I've sent two mails to Dana, one on Wednesday, and one late Thursday. As of the time of this post, I've gotten no reply, not even a negative reply. Maybe they've got a backlog Shocked ?

Yeah, the clarification at the Blog seems to indicate it'll take a little while for things to start being sent around. Give it time, people. I sent my email sometime around 12:45 am yesterday, and have gotten nothing in return yet... just be patient.

I sent mine about 8 minutes after thr training event ended, and have gotten nothing back.

That said, I think this is going to take awhile.

patience is a virtue, or something to that effect

I agree. If need be, I'd wait 6 months for a DVD to be shipped to me, but it'd be nice to know it was coming (I want to know when to buy the case of celebratory honeyweise). Still, experience here has taught me to have some faith in their system. At one point I thought we'd never get a live call in our middle of nowhere axon. But our call came. I thought my analog picture submission had fallen into a bottomless void. But it mustered an honorable mention. I've resisted every urge to send repeat emails because eventually things here just manage to work themselves out. And Melissa willing, eventually a DVD will find its way to us.

I think that bit-torrents & DVD burns are measures of last resort at best. I believe last resort means you wait a couple weeks (at least) for the system to work. I feel the great controversy over such things dilutes the conclusion of our epic mission.

On a somewhat related note, I also want to experss my sadness over the recent mood transisition in the Apiary. Maybe it was there before and I was too immersed to see it, but I've seen a lot of arguing as opposed to the good natured debates the game seemed to engender. The fact that DVDs have popped up on ebay is disappointing. And the sudden appearence new comers with their frantic cries of 'me too' is bothersome. I have nothing against newbies, but when people show up at the end, ignore the culture of the environment & insist upon reward, I think it shows great disrespect for those who've worked so hard to pave the way to the end. I've heard a number of my puzzle prying, axon assailing allies who have yet to get a response either. Many of them are as isolated as I. All of them have contributed more than myself. None of them were expendible to the mission.

I'm not imposing my belief system on you as a reader; I'm only speaking my mind. As the disclaimers often say, results will vary.

I have also had no repsonse. *crosses fingers*

I really hope I get one... If not, I need to know now so I can try to get one in other ways. Sad

Edit (after reading Pikalek's post): I tried to help, and I joined ARGN a little late but was a regular follower of the story. I just was so slow with the puzzles that I never really got to contribute. Except for filling one of the Engineering spots. Smile

That's what happens when you get a load of people feeling bummed out with how the game ended, a load of other people trying to help people feel better, and a few miserable buggers threatening to report people for it.

Inevitable. It's 2004

I also know people who spent hours and hours trying to help with puzzles but never posted here. I know how it looks when people with low post counts and recent reg dates appear, whining that they don't want to feel left out, but this situation gave no other option for those willing to speak out and at least try to get a keepsake of this event.

Yes, the mood did take a downward twist, but considering how things wrapped up for most of us, it should have been expected and planned for, no?

Jane (the PM behind Dana) said in #beekeepers that NO ONE has gotten a response about DVD requests yet. Maybe she just wants a break or something, which is understandable, seeing as she has read about every single post in this forum and in IRC. So just sit tight, guys, it'll all come with time.

Yes, think about it. They've been going literally 24/7 for the past 3.5 months. Let's let them have a well-deserved couple days off, have a little patience and wait.

Believe me, they want these DVDs to get to everyone as much as we want them. They'll get them to as many as is humanly possible.

As for eBay. Hey, if someone's silly enough to pay for something they can get for free, what business is that of ours?

So..........relax.

I gave up trying to explain that days ago.

And keep in mind that with Halo 2 finally out, everyone could be a little busy. I know that neither my wife or my employer will be getting the best I have to offer for the next couple of weeks. Confused

Man... Still no update.

I'm starting to worry.

I just want to know if I have to suck it up and get this DVD another way. Sad

Well, I did it. Sad

I got the DVD in a way I didn't think I would have to.

But at least I have an official copy. Very Happy
