Eh. I don't see the point of holding off on posting it. Stupid kids misinterpreted something. You don't see directors of horror movies withholding their releases cause someone dressed up in a Jason mask and slaughtered people for real...

Maybe the next entry is actually going to involve Alex sacrificing someone to the operator, hence why it could be seen as insensitive. Either that or flashbacks to childhood...

Yeah, while I could imagine they just generally want to hold back to be sensitive (though I'm not sure I agree with the necessity of such a move), I would guess their motives are that by some odd coincidence, there's an element in this next entry that somehow resembles or relates to the real-life incident.

I remember hearing Troy and Joseph both say that they weren't changing the story elements or cutting anything down or out, and weren't going to be combining entries to wrap MH up more quickly. From memory, I remember Joseph saying that "we're just gonna delay the next entry for a little bit... till things cool down."

My guess is that things will have sufficiently cooled down by mid-month.
