Where'd you get Seedeater from? The 'eyes' in the most recent video?

That could be the Rake or something we're more used to, though I'll admit if this turns out to be a Seedeater vlog I'm going to subscribe to it for the sake of something different.

Did you not see the intro when it mentions "Man in feathers?" and children being taken? Seedeater is a bird-like monster that eats kids to live longer.

I found this series via Tumblr on the Seedeater tags.

 		Honestly, ignoring the fact that it IS a blatant ripoff of Marble Hornets, it's not that bad. It certainly sets up a pretty creepy atmosphere, and since I'm not as well versed in this SeedEater story (are we assuming this is the direction they are going in?) I'm willing to see where this goes.

It could be total shit, it could be great.

edit after finishing watching what's out so far: Seriously guys... This had potential. It's not slenderman related and shouldn't be here, but that's not the problem.

Why not take, say a week or so, and write out your own story line? Do you have to copy a series in existence? The seedeater does NOT cause video distortion, you could have done the exact same shoots as you did up to this point, and just took out the marble hornets mimicry, and it would be a great series. The marble hornets stuff doesn't even match the imagery. Do better, and stay classy.

WOW. I mean... just wow. I didn't think he'd be that butthurt over it, especially after a few short episodes that, BY HIS OWN ADMISSION, "[has] a marblehornets like beginning but has a much larger and original story that will be more apparent later on."

He admitted that the beginning was a lot like Marble Hornets, AND DIDN'T EXPECT PEOPLE TO THINK IT WAS A RIPOFF. That's mind boggling.

It's sad, because I was really excited to see where this went. If the creator was a little more mature and waited out this storm until he got his own thing going, I'm sure he'd see great results. Instead, we get a whiny kid throwing a tantrum because he wasn't immediately a superstar. So much wasted potential...

So let me get this straight...the creator...was mad at you...because he didn't want to create any more bad copycat videos?

This guy needs to do more than rewrite his series methinks...maybe sit in a corner and think about his life until he's ready to be on the internet again.

If you read this GraniteRavens guy, it's not our fault you can't take criticism, roll with the punches and just rewrite it without being mean to the people who actually watch your series. Look at TribeTwelve, that started as a MarbleHornets rip-off but when people called him out on it he re-wrote the whole damn thing. Look at TT now lol, huge ass following, one of the biggest series, and it started as a rip-off. But you didn't see him freak out when people told him the ugly truth.

Think about that.

 		In truth, many if not most of the really good slenderman vlogs had reactions like this one in the beginning. When I've played catch-up I often wondered what on Earth made the creators keep going after such horrible initial reception, and mused a bit knowing that soon enough they'd all have to eat their words Smile

In short: I wish he had let his inspiration and conviction decide the fate of this log, not the first page of the uF-thread. But I realize that can be easier said than done.



Now, as you've all stated loud and clear: he obviously aint good with criticism, so could yall perhaps tone it down a bit with all the criticism?

Not trying to start an argument or anything but that's kind of why we're here, to provide our thoughts on the series as well as speculate and whatnot. It was a new start up so of course it was going to get a lot of criticism and if he thought it wouldn't then he obviously wasn't even ready to begin making a series.

This is the internet, we're all assholes on some level so if you're catering to an internet audience you're subject to said assholes. That goes to all creators, I don't know one series that hasn't been called a "rip-off" or was claimed to have "terrible editing" or something along those lines. If you're not ready for people to literally tear your series apart piece by piece and analyze it so thoroughly it would make your head spin, and then post exactly what they think about it (ESPECIALLY on uF), you're not ready to be making a series. Criticism does happen, nothing you can do but ignore it or incorporate it, throwing a temper tantrum accomplishes none of this and makes you look silly on the internet (Which we all know is a fate worse than death Rolling Eyes ).

Duly noted: Everyone on the internet is an asshole and it's not your fault and he is not tough enough to make a slenderman vlog. Got it. He seems to agree on all accounts (except he seems to think it's your fault you're assholes?) and stopped making his vlog. To me, that seems like a good time to cut him some slack. Or does that go against the asshole rule?
