Well there clearly isnt a definitive. There could be hints leading to both options: whether tim chose life or death for jessica and himself. I think we shouldnt spend our time arguing over what Tim did this entry. We wont come to a conclusion. Trosephim pulled a Christopher Nolan on us. Lets just discuss some season long questions

I don't know. I guess I just feel like anticlimaxes work in books, but for something you have to put as much work into as this, I feel like I got no payoff.

Tim's fit doesn't say "murder-suicide" to me. I think it was meant to show that the Operator is indeed still around, but the only thing to be done about it is to keep taking your medicine and try to ignore it. It's interesting that Jessica wasn't affected at all, while Tim collapsed.

And if you think about it, that's what Tim was doing before Jay stirred everything up. He was taking medication and receiving therapy, so if he did notice anything odd, he just dismissed it and didn't react. That's why I think TO feeds on fear and negativity; it seems when Tim stopped giving it what it needed it left him alone.

After thinking about it a bit more, I'm pretty sure that Tim committed suicide. As Ollie said, the ending shot showed two options, try to live out his life as normal, or commit suicide. I think he chose the latter.
For one thing, also as Ollie pointed out, Tim doesn't look happy. He doesn't look like he's relieved that it all is finally over. Additionally, due to the coughing fit, Tim knows that he's still carrying the Operator "virus." Thanks to Alex's final words, Tim knows what he has to do to prevent it from spreading: kill himself. I think that his ending words, "Everything is fine," were meant to call back to the TTA video. Those who want a hopeful ending can interpret it literally, but I think that what Tim is implying (for those of us willing to look closely enough) is that he's chosen to kill himself.

So why was Tim filming Jay and Alex way back in Exit?

This. So much this. Who the heck was filming "Exit," and, just as importantly, why?

Yeah, what was that about? Maybe it was Brian/Hoody. He seems to be a fan of filming things in secret, like in the totheark video "Reminder."

But why would he have been filming? Alex wasn't completely insane by that point, let alone in the state of mind to attack his friends. When "Exit" was filmed, there would have been no reason for Brian to be stalking Alex and Jay, so why would he have been doing so? And the same applies to Tim.

That's what makes me think that maybe Seth did stumble upon something in the tapes early on and he was the mystery cameraman. I have no real proof of that, though. That's one mystery I dont' mind leaving unresolved.

I just noticed something while re-watching the entry: at the very end, after Tim turns on his turn signal, he doesn't just go straight. He changes into the left-hand lane. This implies that the chose to turn left, and not go into the woods.

Another thing, this code message from "Classified" :

"The twins, do you know what he did? I saw it."

Was this ever solved? Who are the twins? Who is the "he" referring to? And who is the "I" referring to?

Given the call-back to Decline in the final text, is it worth going over that again to see if we've sucked all the marrow from that particular bone?
(I say "we", but I suck at that kind of decoding stuff…)

That was underwhelming as fuck. Keeping some of your secrets is fine, but they didn't answer a fucking thing. How is Jessica just okay? She got taken by The Slender Man like others that've been killed.

And would it have killed them to throw in one last Slender Man appearance? Maybe behind Jessica's building as they talk, prompting Tim's coughing and hasty exit. Pretty much this whole season The Slender Man has been incidental, almost an Easter Egg, which is extremely disappointing.

I won't truly feel sure that's the ending until the credits get posted on the THAC channel. It didn't feel like a real ending. No closure or resolution whatsoever.

Well before the footage cut to Tim driving at the end, I found this. Jessica is looking at something. The operator?

Also I'd like to add that I like ambigious endings, blair witch project is my fav movie.
but that wasn't ambigous, it was just....empty.

This. 100% I expected an entry like this for the ending. But I expected more I guess. Or for them to at least give us a 10min look into Tim's psyche. But this was shorter than I'd ever expect. And I'm not looking for any answers. But I want closure with the character. Tim cut us off and it hurts.

I'm not sure if this is the final entry, personally, but if it is...well....while I thought the execution was off, I've still enjoyed the series as a whole.

More thoughts later.

Fake jump cut. Several people actually called it in advance.

I agree with you on this. A final appearance would have been nice.

As opposed to the 99 other jump cuts they used to pop The Slender Man in and out this season? If that's the answer it should've been telegraphed a bit better.

I think each character's actions spoke volumes about them, and that they were very three-dimensional and well-developed. It wasn't given to us straight up most of the time, but it was there.

Tim and Alex were very complex characters. Jessica wasn't just some cute chick to be saved (or to be failed) by some dude. Flashes of Brian's personality shone thorugh (Entry #7, Entry #51, Entry #54). Even Jay was covering over a lot of tension and I think clinical depression with OCD symptoms (this is something I know something about). I agree with anyone who says that Trosephim have to refine their storytelling, because they're still inconsistent, but they've told us a lot with their minimalist and somewhat expressionistic style. Give it some time and watch it through once you've digested. Then shit out your old rage, and you'll likely see a better developed series and better developed characterization than you'd originally thought.

Not all of it, no. But also, it doesn't really matter who filmed it. It was disturbing as fuck.
