Long time lurker, first time posting. I just wanted to say that I agree and disagree with the points being made. My personal opinion is that I wanted, maybe expected a little more. However it was done very tastefully if it truly is the end. But am I satisfied completely? No.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
And everything is sure as hell not fine in my opinion. You just collapsed in the parking lot Tim. Not fine.
I think this is the end, I kinda hope it isn't, but it sure seems like it is. I'm sorry if this is a bit repetitive of what others have already said, like I said before first time posting. Also, if it has been confirmed this is the end OOG and im oblivious I apologize, I haven't read through all of the pages of the thread. Also I wanted to say thanks to this forum, reading through peoples' responses on other entries, not just this one, gave me a lot to think about and helped me with my own theories as well as provide answers so thanks Very Happy

Just to put in my opinion on this topic: I'd say the ark is the place of no light, the place we see bruce at in 65 and where hoody seems to end up in 83. In season 1 the ark was the basement of doom.

Maybe TTA didn't really want to go to the ark, so much as just felt like it was their fate. Hoody seemed like a pretty fatalistic guy, I mean hell he pretty accurately predicted his death (and he did, in the end, go to the ark). We could be misunderstanding the whole TTA creed. It's less a goal and more an admission of your fate as an operator-infected person. If you have the slendy disease you have to die and go to the ark. Maybe for containment purposes?

Today was a lazy day for me. I spent most of it lounging about. But as I lay in bed not too long ago, slowly falling asleep, I remembered the date and was on the Marble Hornets channel in a heartbeat.

Immediately after the entry ended I sat in silence for a good five minutes, taking in what I had just watched. At first, I didn't know what to think. Relief? Excitement? Disappointment? I think I felt a mixture of all of these for a moment, but that soon passed and I was overwhelmed with a deep feeling of *satisfaction*.

If this is the end, so be it. Any other questions we have may be inferred, assumed or already answered - if you look closely enough. It is only natural for the series to end this way. It had a bit of everything in it.

Suspense. Distortion. Ambiguity. But no horror - only a final deep feeling of dread. Marble Hornets has never truly been focused on horror, anyway. It has always fixed itself on instilling fear into our hearts, an abysmal awe of the unknown. The constant presence of true fear is embodied in The Operator, who has been in each and every entry - because he represents fear.

Every problem starts with fear. Fear is controlling, manipulative, and destroys. It is perpetual. This is my interpretation of The Operator - a manifestation of the darkest feeling one can experience. Fear causes aggression, anger, sadness, paranoia, and hatred. Everyone who came into contact with The Operator experienced these symptoms.

Entry #87 is up to any interpretation. This has always been Tim's story. It started and ended with him. It started and ended with fear. I think Tim killed Jessica and then himself. The last shot symbolized his decision. Go left or right? We are not told, but I believe he went forward - to battle fear. Marble Hornets is a perfect example of what fear does to people. Eventually - slowly but surely - it kills.

Everything is normal.

Everything is fine.

I worry about nothing.

Because nothing's on my mind.

My big question was what was the significance of the antique shop and all the stuff Jay saw inside? Was it just a metaphor/foreshadowing of this theme of Tim attempting to move on?

"I also asked if it would ever be open again. He said it will, since they're trying to sell off their current inventory."

"Everything is fine."

That's right up there with Sam Gamgee's "Well, I'm back" as one of the most gut-wrenching final lines ever. I can picture Tim rocking back and forth as he typed that out.

Bravo!

I hate it.

Yet I respect it.

Thanks Troy/Joseph/Tim. That was awesome. No discussion needed-We all said the last entry would have the driving scene. And done.

Edit-Holy Shit-I literally never knew Troy had an account here.

Even better. Well done guys. Looking forward to the movie.

You know...I think there's more story for us to uncover on our own. "Everything is fine" is meant to point us back to Decline and the TTA code Trosephim alluded to. There's plenty about TTA (especially season 1's funny allusions to Jay needing to "return to us" and "wake up") that remains unknown that might answer a lot more questions.

As for the ending, I'm okay with it. I didn't have a lot more questions. Re-watching Season 1 made me appreciate just how many answers we were actually given before series' end. The Ark was probably the dark place where all the bodies go, Sarah and Seth are probably dead, and Alex was trying to contain and get rid of the Operator by what he was doing.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Tim hiding Jessica makes perfect sense if he was trying to protect her

Just one more question that actually bugs me: why is it Jay, Tim, and Brian were all left alive? Was Alex not able to totally go through with killing them and so just left them to the Operator? Confused

I already know any more information on the operator will most likely never be presented which is my only disappointment since I am 95% sure this is the end.

I know the whole idea of being fearful of the creature is not knowing what it wants, but after 5 years and many hints that seem to lead to nothing about the operator, its kinda depressing. i still like the video's ending, it just feels like an unfinished job. i wanted to learn more, whatever way possible.

Entry #88: Scooby Doo ending. Tim pulls off Oppy's mask, revealing Victor Surge, who would've gotten away with it if it weren't for those meddling kids.

"Let's do the mega happy ending now!"

Was Jessica's mind wiped again? She said she looked forward to meeting Jay, and was disappointed that he'd moved. That's odd and actually pretty tragic. Jay's raison d'etre was Jessica for most of the second and third seasons, but apparently for most of that time she had no idea who he was.

Marble Hornets has never been romantic, thank God, but that's fucking heartbreaking.

I'd like to think there's one more video in the pipeline, one more answer, one more scare. But if that's all we're left with, I think I'll grow to be okay with it and eagerly await their next project. Maybe there'll be a nod to how things are post-series in The Operator, who knows.

I hopped on this crazy train of ours between Seasons 1 and 2, and I haven't looked back. Marble Hornets has changed a lot, for sure, what with the dramatic reduction in horror after Season 1 and the renewed focus on mystery, and The Slender Man went from being a character in the background to a background character, which still pisses me off, but I feel like MH kept it's soul intact. It started with a pretty small cast of characters and that didn't change much. It didn't get up it's own ass with convoluted plots, ARGs, and nonsensical backstory (EMH), it didn't add a gigantic cast of side-villains and false-history absurdity which still hasn't been elaborated on (TT), it remained the story of a cursed student film, a man searching for lost friends, and the inherent risk found in looking to the darkeness and asking questions: getting answers.

Gentlemen, if this is the last time we gather to discuss the implications of a new entry, it has truly been a pleasure.

Wait...what? So why would he tell her anything about Jay at all then?

Sorry if I'm coming off daft, I'm just trying to understand your scenario better.

Group therapy, after he knew what was going on. Tim needed to discuss his goings on, Jay was his friend. So he had to work that in to his sessions without revealing that they were all fighting the same thing.

idk about you but if this is the last entry, then there are still plenty of things left open for discussion that we could have fun debating
