Some random guy on Tumblr stated that they said this. That's not really a valid-enough source for me. I apologize if I'm coming off like a frustratingly stubborn turkey, but until Troy makes a blog post about 87 being the end, I'm holding on to my feeling that there's going to be one more.

These are the same guys who gave a Kickstarter-exclusive update on how #86 was coming along. Wouldn't surprise me if they decided to keep everyone not at the con in the dark for a while as to whether the series is over.

Cthulhu stuff, right? He don't have to explain a thing. He just IS. His endgame is away of our comprehension. Shocked

Things I thought that is odd:
-Why there is no posting this entry on Twitter?
- Is there a answer to who is TTA?

By the way, in the first pages there was someone who said that it was a ambiguous ending. If this is the ending, it surely is, hence the last image.

Check the signal. Ambiguous.

In any case, I do have 2 gripes.

1) I was a fan of the whole 'water' theme within Marble Hornets, a portion of the community believing there to have been a connection or symbolism with water throughout Marble Hornets. It is kind of a shame to see no connections being made in regards to this. (even the word 'rain' being mentioned within some TTA entries)

2) If all of this is true (which it seems to be) and Alex has been the lawfully evil guy trying to rid the world of TO by killing everyone, why exactly has it been displayed as though Alex was actually being helped by TO? That me makes no sense to me...why would TO actively help someone that is trying to abolish it?

Alex thought he was fighting the Operator, but as Tim said, "you're feeding it". The Operator was controlling Alex, who only thought he was doing what had to be done. Tim had the Operator under control after his childhood experiences, to the point where he was able to be friends with Brian without the latter being affected. Before Alex started attacking people, you never saw the geometry warping that became the trademark of "doozy" entries.

Ok, finally jumping in to give my two cents's worth after watching the entry a couple of times and reading most of the comments on here. I did like the ending, was very up in the air as far as what Tim was going to do, and I also wonder if he might be intending on going to Rosswood and attempting to finish off the Operator, which is why he had his pills in his hand versus having them in his bag.

As far as Jessica is concerned, it could go either way: either she was attacked by the Operator during/after Tim's coughing fit, attacked by Tim slipping into Masky mode, or he got himself under control and stopped recording, not wanting to show where she went to. Only reason why I'm leaning toward her having been attacked by OP is because Tim made the same mistake he accused Jay of wanting to do; record that she was alive. If the theory I've read here about OP being able to see through camera lenses is correct, then he was able to see that Jessica was alive and could easily have come after her. This could also have been the reason why Tim looked so determined, whatever he decided was based on the fact that he'd led OP to the last remaining survivor, other than himself.

Obviously the Operator was there, but it's more likely that Jessica is fine and doesn't remember it. The only people so far who've been shown to remember Operator encounters are those who already know it exists, and Jessica doesn't. Tim would probably remember, but like he told Alex, it's just something he has to live with.

Wont bore anyone with a drawn out "hey first post, lurker" ect speech.

I just wanted to share some thoughts on this entry and some things in general.

For starters, I'm not at all convinced the sirens have any meaning whatsoever. They are so faint in the background, so much so that people have to bring up the volume and listen with headphones just to be able to kinda make it out. I think it is just some background noise during shooting that has nothing to do with anythings IG.

Remove that, the evidence that Tim has done anything to Jessica is very little. If you look at this from a legal situation point of view, if Tim was arrested on suspicion of attacking/killing Jessica. There is no where near enough evidence to even rule that Jessica is in fact dead, let alone that Tim killed her. In this little scenario, we're going to pretend the sirens evidence has been ruled inadmissible.

The look on Tim's face as he drove, doesn't necessarily indicate guilt either. It could be all the emotions and trauma he's dealing with, he could just be numb right now. Emotional overload if you will. If we keep with this having been after #86, then he did just kill somebody (Alex).
He also could have just been driving. How many people, driving alone in the car make a lot of facial emoting. Especially those who have a lot on their mind.

No, I don't think he did anything to Jessica. I think he left her there. This does not rule out the possibility of Tim making the decision to end his life. We don't really know for sure.

Now to some other observations.

To me, it is clear that TTA (Hoody/Masky combo) where in their own way fighting against the Operator and Alex. Evidence by how much they where trying to kill Alex, but fled whenever TO would show up to protect Alex. (Even if Alex was unaware of it) Indicating that while they hated TO and wanted to fight it, they obviously could not go up against it directly and win.

Brian and Tim (IE: Hoody and Masky persona's) where also somehow connected to it though. Somehow taking on some of TO's attributes. I believe the chase between Tim and Hoody, and the subsequent interdenominational jumping was due to the heightened emotional state between the two. Its possible Hoody was aware of being able to teleport, and perhaps Masky could as well, but Tim was able to tap into that without reverting to Masky. (Might explain how TTA was able to get into places and record without being seen) Perhaps they where only able slip through weak points that TO had previously been through.

Either way, I think the unstable dimensional anomalies that we saw had as much to do with them then it did TO itself. I think somehow they had been infected to a point where they had gained some of its abilities. Whether the jumping was intentional or not ultimately remains unclear.

I also think Hoody killed himself. It appeared clear to me when watching that he let go of the rail before Tim could hit him. Maybe since TO was there, it was his way to get to the ark, maybe not. Maybe his goals no longer mattered or where attainable now that Tim refused to become Masky again.

My theory is, is that Hoody started "attacking" Tim through the TTA videos because he felt betrayed. That Tim had chosen Jay over him. That Tim refused to help him in the way he felt he needed, as Masky. That could be why, when Tim ultimately refused, (and maybe when Tim was able to chase him through dimensional rifts indicating he didn't need Masky to do so) he felt he had no where else go. His goals no longer where attainable. So he dropped, and made it possible for Tim to get that tape. A final piece of the Hoody puzzle if you will.

Quote:
a BIT more insight in regards to the Operator and its abilities (why did it only appear at certain times? Why didn't it seem to be able to kill anyone on its own?), etc.

I would guess TO is an interdimensional being, unable to fully manifest into our world. He was to work through proxies for the most part, but if able to transport others to his world, or other places. He was obviously able to effect certain people, causing sickness and collapse. Like when Tim faced him when it was "attacking" Jay. Its possible that the more connected a person is to TO and/or the dark place (the ark maybe) they more TO is able to effect that person physically. Hench why it can't outright kill most people, but was able to somewhat attack those who had been infected. (IE: Hoody and Masky)

We can only assume cameras are somehow involved. I heard the theory that the act of being recorded/seen by the camera was in a way an anchor that allowed TO to effect things in our world.

I think TO was using Alex. In his own mind, he might have been convinced he was doing the right thing to get rid of TO, but I think it was a delusion and a lie of TO. He was a puppet.

Overall, I am satisfied with this being the last entry. I think we got all the answers we really need, although it was subtle. I think some of the explanations I've read here in this thread solved a lot of the loose ends, of things. Things some of us might not have remembered or put together since we've been watching this over the spance of 5 years. I look forward to buying the series boxset or whatever when it comes out, and watching again. Watch a whole season (or series if you like) in one day, and I think things might click a little better.

The fact that no twitter post was made, does make me wonder if maybe Tim did in fact kill himself after uploading #87. Either way, I remain very skeptical that Tim did anything nefarious to Jessica.

The dude Alex killed (Beardy) could be an important clue in the Operator's procedure. I remember Jay made mentions on Twitter of investigating for some kind of missing person's report on Beardy and he found NOTHING. We have seen time and time again nearly all of the main characters get knocked out / killed (usually ambiguous as to which outcome a la Brian in 51) and then COME BACK alive and well and not remembering anything.

Now what's weird is that Tim comes across Beardy's body in the creepy dimension. Weird when you consider Jay saying that he found absolutely no evidence that the dude was ever missing. Which could either mean 0 people on the planet ever cared about Beardy enough to look for him, or (and I think more likely) Beardy is actually alive and living as if nothing happened.

Anyone have any opinion on this?

Sounds like the Iteration Theory from EMH. They get killed then reincarnate or reiterate as another version of themselves.

I am more then a little worried that the sendersickness might have spread... to US! LOL. Cuz I totally spent about 3 hours straight reading every post in this thread till I couldn't see straight. Got up today and finished it. Been contemplating it pretty much all day. (Not unlike when I binge watched most of S1 when I first found out about Marble Hornets, lo) I even changed my profile pic on facebook to the Operator symbol with the text "Everything is fine" overlaid. I might be just a few steps away from keeping a camera on me at all times folks, LOL.

All kidding aside, I did have another thought about Tim. What if somehow, for some reason he can't die. What if TO is keeping him alive for some reason.

If indeed this is post #86 in chronology, then Tim survived the Alex showdown. Despite Alex firing at him at some very close ranges. Its hard to believe he wasn't hit at least once, maybe more.

Maybe he was hit, but is still strong enough to walk away. Maybe that is what really caused his coughing attack. If that in the case, then he might be driving off somewhere to die from his injuries. Unless of course somehow he either wasn't hit, or TO healed his gunshot wounds.

Its obvious that either TO stopped protecting Alex, or Tim was strong enough (with his pills) to counteract TO's influence and was able to kill Alex. If the former, then it might be possible that Alex is still alive after all. If TO healed/resurrected him somehow.

Could maybe explain the change from apologetic to hostile and violent in eighty.... two? The one with Jay in Rosswood.

And why didn't Tim get the voicemail? Does passing through the tunnel put you into an alternate universe?

I like to think of the Operator and the larger Slenderman character in general, as akin to a force of nature. Asking what his goals are is like asking what goal the rocks in an avalanche had in falling down the mountain or what motivation the rain had for soaking your shirt. It's something that just happens, if there is motivation for it, we'll never understand it. We can find bits and pieces over time explaining the effects, maybe even the generalities of a cause, but asking for motivation is applying human features to something that is anything but. Just thought I'd throw that in.

I could care less about the operator. Hoody should have been better fleshed out though.
