So... anyone have ideas on the Iceland part? Did jajune have just random pointless fun stuff, or did it usually have a meaning?

I forgot about that, so hopefully my worry is just wrong Smile

So far I have seen nothing to make sense of Iceland, including in the Jejune stuff I have read.

If you look earlier in this thread (not sure which page) a few people mentioned getting an auto-email-response from the Latitude website, that mentions something about Iceland... Doesn't provide any context or meaning - but it was something mentioned a little while ago, in connection to this... (edit: it was on page 7 of this thread)

Theory

You know what this all sounds like... it sounds like a system stress test...

Perhaps we have been witness to one tiny corner of the machine, and the 'showrunners' were testing for security leaks, etc... maybe the quick shutdown had nothing to do with us, directly, but perhaps with the individual(s) who were responsible for the Craigslist ads, and subsequent communications... just a thought...

I still feel like we are trying to put together a puzzle, with only 5% of the pieces, and no idea of what the puzzle is supposed to look like when we are done...

My Spidey-sense indicates this to be 'normal' weird... not Latitude Society weird...

wow that guy is out there. I dig it but don't think it has to do with what we want. There is just so much info on that page and it looks like someone's life work.

I have been known to be very wrong though!

my idea would only be pulling from obvious land and trying the latitude coordinates for Iceland...

also I went to site..clicked on "initiated" where it said reset password...clicked that then it said add email or monkier. I added the name I used during JeJune and the screen reset ..and these images were at the top. I took a screen grab if anyone wants to see...
however

...when I copy and paste the copied text it says this:

lorem ipsum sit dolor

...so filler weird...

Haven't seen this video posted yet, which is kinda surprising. In March Jeff Hull talked about his latest project. (If you're impatient skip to 35:00)
http://www.designersandgeeks.com/events/situational-design-and-the-art-of-nonchalance

This second one has no video, but the comments are a good read and offer a little insight from a January presentation.

Hmmm... I hated when he said this could be vaporware. I am hoping that is not the case. On the secrecy I think it should be ok to talk. I was not in the whole jajune thing, but I think people were encouraged to reach out to community?

I assume you have all searched that phone number, and seen oldmanski... I don't know if he is involved or not. Maybe he is just following it like the rest of us.

The thing that gives me the most nerves... is whether or not this is going to progress soon/is progressing. Seems there has be a long gap between jajune and this. Or maybe the ball is already rolling Rolling Eyes Wow... I have never been a part of the ARG community, nor the whole urban play thing. So its a first for me. I think the website is real! I think it is probably working. If the person I E-mailed is legit, then I think this may be larger than one city as well possibly... but based in SF?

I am going to check out pine this weekend most likely... They made several veiled references in my E-mail to dead ends and alley ways. Perhaps its chance and a fools game to follow. Maybe it was hints, I don't know how implicit/explicit/confusing this stuff usually is.

It is fun to poke around and search. So should not be a bad thing if I don't find much. I really don't get the Iceland thing, nor the whole PLECA. PLECA seems to me to perhaps be a long term thing or password. However the iceland thing... that I cannot figure out.

If people are still wondering the lorem ipsum is just a space holder. Each symbol there corresponds to a letter. If you check the same symbol is always O. Maybe a later clue? I think that site may be part of the initiation or a clue. Something. Sadly I do not have much to show I am right or wrong at this point. As many have pointed out, this could be a hox, or someone trying to draw out the real crew. But I am guna give it a shot and see if it is real. If there are any people here who would like to do the same, either in real life, or just online. Let me know! Hopefully we can figure something out!

-Still thinking, hunting, and exploring

Dolphins, huh? Smells fishy to me. Like herring.
Why are we trying to follow the tropes of the past?
Be patient.

Hi Friends
Thoughts?

Hi Friends....I'm new here....
I actually only discovered The Latitude Society a little over 24 hours ago after watching The Institute Yesterday.

Moving on I'd like to contribute a tid bit of possibly interesting info....it could mean nothing, or could be helpful.

First off... I think that one instagram account (oldmanski) that has posted multiple random pictures with the (512) phone number is un-associated with the actual game and is either trolling or trying to gain followers. Either way i feel that he has nothing legitimate to contribute ( just a hunch)

Second I came across this photo through this forum...

Link to Original Photo:
https://www.flickr.com/photos/angrysong/14181202320/in/photostream/

So i was super curious about what was written on the persons protest sign...

turns out its a poster of the "Original 13 rules of Basketball" which was sold Sotheby's Auction for $4.3 Million Dollars.

Here Are a Few Links:

Link To Transcription of Document:
http://roundballreview.com/13-rules-the-birth-of-basketball/

Link To Auction Article:
http://www.nanaimo-info-blog.com/2010/12/basketball-rules-fetch-430000000.html

Video Link:
http://edition.cnn.com/2010/SPORT/12/10/basketball.rules.auction/

none of this is mind blowing but if We are to assume that the obscure protest in Austin TX outside of the screening of The Institute, was legit and on behalf of the game, rather than people "trying to gain the attention of the creators in order to move ahead in the game" than I think this is something to check out and keep in mind!!! Did anyone notice that the dude in the picture with the bullhorn looks alot like someone from the institute but with slightly different facial hair...

Maybe just me that sees that, and not really something shocking if he is someone involved in the former jajune thing.

Just a thought.

As to the rules of basketball thing: I think people were probably instructed to bring their own random posters? I kinda seemed that way with their former protests. Or perhaps they were provided. But that is a good catch. On the image I had of that photo, it was not legible, good find!

Hmmmm... so annoying, I was be really annoyed if it ended up being active already and we just didn't find the clue.

Do you think the release at this time could have anything to do with the pride parade being this weekend in SF?

Hi Friends,

So I'm back to report on the developments i have gathered since my last post...which was actually yesterday..

Okay so here it goes...

I went through one of my avenues to see if i could get some feedback about the protest going on outside a showing of The Institute in Austin TX seen here https://www.flickr.com/photos/angrysong/14181202320/in/photostream/

& here

https://www.flickr.com/photos/angrysong/14181203680/in/photostream/

I went ahead and posted these photos to an "Austin Locals Based Forum" and asked if anyone recognized anyone in these photos or witnessed it first hand.

Turns out six differnt people all said and agreed that they recongnized this group of "dudes" to be from an Austin art collective know as Ink Tank Lab

Facebook Link: https://www.facebook.com/InkTankCollective

So after searching for proof to back up what these six people were telling me about this group in fact being Ink Tank Labs....I came across the following...

Exhibit A:

Take a good look at the man with the yellow hat and the beard...

He looks very similar to the man in the following photo (Link Below), squatting in the bottom right https://www.facebook.com/InkTankCollective/photos/pb.216781135048008.-2207520000.1404003814./441283302597789/?type=3&src=https%3A%2F%2Fscontent-a-sjc.xx.fbcdn.net%2Fhphotos-xaf1%2Ft1.0-9%2F579211_441283302597789_19329726_n.jpg&size=531%2C800&fbid=441283302597789

The Facebook photo is from Ink Tank's FB and if you click on his tag it will take you to his profile....I am convinced it's the same person as the bearded yellow hat dude in the protest picture.

Exhibit B.

Take a look at the above protest photo again.... See that round brick wall sign......?

now check this out ( also found on Ink Tank's FB Page)

https://www.facebook.com/InkTankCollective/photos/pb.216781135048008.-2207520000.1404003072./507060749353377/?type=3&src=https%3A%2F%2Ffbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net%2Fhphotos-ak-xfp1%2Ft31.0-8%2F902047_507060749353377_2023282034_o.jpg&smallsrc=https%3A%2F%2Ffbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net%2Fhphotos-ak-prn2%2Ft1.0-9%2F537972_507060749353377_2023282034_n.jpg&size=2048%2C1529&fbid=507060749353377

Exhibit C.

See This Guy...

the one i circled in green

After photo stalking the crap out of Ink Tank's FB...I found the following photo (Link Below) and if you click on the Tag of the guy holding the "REP ENT" sign and follow the Tag to his profile you can see a better photo of him (not referring to his profile picture, but the third full face picture in his photo album). Not sure if it's okay for me to post a direct link to his personal profile, so I'm not going to.

https://www.facebook.com/InkTankCollective/photos/pb.216781135048008.-2207520000.1404003072./457229667669819/?type=3&src=https%3A%2F%2Ffbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net%2Fhphotos-ak-frc1%2Ft31.0-8%2F705676_457229667669819_241587817_o.jpg&smallsrc=https%3A%2F%2Ffbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net%2Fhphotos-ak-xaf1%2Ft1.0-9%2F165837_457229667669819_241587817_n.jpg&size=2048%2C1365&fbid=457229667669819

So after gathering all this, I can't say for sure if this protest is connected to The Latitude Society. I do believe that the protest itself is connected to the screening of The Institute that took place that day but I am unsure if the 512 phone number/PLECA are clues for The Latitude Society

Could it be possible that the developers of The Latitude Society are going to use this group (Ink Tank Lab) for the game...maybe?

***** deeep breaths everyone****

Toodles for now Very Happy

If all that is true then why the SF CL ad pointing to 333 pine street that has odd posters on poles around the area?
