random pic or something arg-y?
found this on 4chan

i was browsing 4 chan's /x/ board and came across a random post that had this linked

https://www.dropbox.com/s/aozkuakczy4nsea/yrbaneqbznluniruvqnihygherqvqnqrnqnhfgevnaerirnyvg.png

a 450 mb picture of a painting by leonardo da vinci

and someone commented saying the title referenced rot 13 and it does it says

"leonardomayhavehidavulturedidadeadaustrianrevealit"
fixed: leonardo may have hid a vulture did a dead austrian reveal it

here is the archive: http://4chanarchive.net/threads/x//14744006

Try downloading Changrouper, see what comes up. It's basically a zip or some sort of file embedded inside the image. It's a common way for people to host files on 4chan, as they are not allowed to upload files that aren't images.

I would be careful doing this. I've heard anecdotal reports of child pornography being swapped on 4chan by embedding in images. Of course, I've never heard of anyone getting in trouble for accidentally viewing child pornography, either, but still - nobody wants to see that stuff.

update

Ok so here is an update. I got some other people involved with helping.

1.) Nothing in changrouper, doesn't seem as if anything is hidden inside of it using that method. We have also tried using other stenography software and have found nothing.

2.) The png's title is rot 13 for "leonardo may have hid a vulture did a dead austrian reveal it"

3.) Someone found two hidden things inside of this picture. http://s27.postimg.org/jj385cco3/cicada.jpg

a 5x6 square of colors in a grid, and gematria runes.

The grid of colors was found at marker 18.56 in inches (1856 is the year freud *an austrian who is dead and also wrote about this painting* was born)

When using the eyedropper tool in photoshop I copied and pasted those hex values into http://paulschou.com/tools/xlate/ and got:

"Welcome to the glitch. You can reveal the truth in ten steps. Let Jesus's hand guide you.."

4.) When zooming in on Jesus's hand (which is where the runes were) you got a string of runes. After decryption I got httpipkillorgvDD

which turns into http://ipkill.org/vDD which leads to a qr code here: 'https://cdn.anonfiles.com/1402959216454.png'

5.) When running the qr code through http://zxing.org/w/decode.jspx

I got 4;;.)://5*‡*1608).-‡9/1608/12†02918505144558782†5-622†3902-

That's as far as I got.

It looks like the code from Poe's Gold Bug.

Last part of the url

Guys,

I don't understand why 7 stands for K in the last part of the url.
If we decipher according to E. A. Poe crypto, 7 doesn't exist....

I don't think that is the issue here, it's just that:

HTTPSY//ANONFILESPCOM/FILE/FBDLBMFEALAFHHAAEKEBDACIBBDGMLBC
HTTPS://ANONFILES.COM/FILE/FBDLBMFEALAFHHAAEKEBDACIBBDGMLBC

gives you a lot of combinations for the anonfiles link, since they use hex characters in the URL.

I think the fact that "7" is not decoded as K for sure is part of the issue.

The issue really is that any decoding of a numerical digit to a letter from "g-z" should not take place.

And any decoding of a numerical digit to a letter from "a-f" may or may not be needed.

therefore,
4;;.)://5*‡*1608).-‡9/1608/12†02918505144558782†5-622†3902-

does not decode to:

https://anonfiles.com/file/fbdlbmfealafhhaaekebdacibbdgmlbc

but instead to:

where (f,1) means either "f" or "1"
(b,2) means either "b" or "2"
(a,5) means either "a" or "5"
(e,Cool means either "e" or "8"

so there are 17 instances where a numerical digit is decoded to a letter or is left "as is".

that means 2^17 possibilities for names, or about 131000.

Should we also consider
† could be b or d? And not only d?
Then there will be more combinations.....

no, in GOLD BUG, the symbol for d is "†", and the symbol for "b" is "2".

those look like Chess coordinates.

I looked up a picture of a chessboard to try and make sense of it, but I came up short.
