[SUBJECT] Yes. It was red paint. Someone had written "Machiavelli was here" in red paint on my door.

[SULLIVAN] Did you wash it off?

[SUBJECT] Well, that's the thing. I didn't.

[SULLIVAN] You left it there?

[SUBJECT] No… it vanished.

[SULLIVAN] You mean someone else came and washed it away?

[SUBJECT] No, I mean that when I saw it, I turned away for a few seconds, and then when I looked back, it was gone.

[SULLIVAN] A hallucination.

[SUBJECT] No… I'm not crazy. It really happened.

[SULLIVAN] Well, how do you explain it?

 		Probably. What's odd is that the only members with Machiavelli avatars are Exsupero and Marcus Goldwasser. Neither of whom seem to be a girl.....hm.

Edit: Also my chat with Anthill didn't yield much else of use besides the fact that Augcorp doesn't do augments like wings or tails, and that people have apparently been going around trying to sell similar unlicensed services. Beth's been really cagey about what exactly she's had done, but added that she's heard that after a Augcorp employee leaves, their implants start to go haywire---specifically regarding language; they suddenly speak about 67 languages, but none fluently enough to ever communicate again. The explains the post from the guy with all the different languages. She admits it sounds like a crazy conspiracy theory, but still...

I wonder if she knows anything about Daniel. If he used to work for Augcorp but somehow his implants kept working, the company could be trying to smear him so everyone will tune him out and not listen to whatever he might have to say...

OH! And the Sullivan mentioned in the page corruptions might be the same one Anthill mentioned briefly to me:

I vaguely remember a woman called Sullivan at a team-building seminar we had in Cincinnati a few years back. I think she was a psychologist or maybe a psychiatrist. I may be getting completely confused, but I think I remember her.

I wonder why she'd be working with this still-unnamed subject....

I've been talking to a lot of people on here who are telling me AugCorp is either corrupt, wrong, or financially greedy. Essentially, that they're no good for augmenting. But I am still interested in augmentation, and I've been told I could easily go to other families for just as good – if not better – treatments. Possibly even without having to undergo Zero.
So, since your profile mentions your affiliation with the Gilded family and the fact you can help people with self-augmentation, I was wondering if there was any way you'd be willing to help me begin my journey in self-augmentation?

Kudos to you for seeing the truth about Augcorp. They are all those things and more. Most people don't realize that, but it's true. What they did to that poor girl was horrible. I'm waiting for it to happen to me, but so far it hasn't. It might be because I'm much more high-profile than say, Leonard or Daniel. If I went down, a lot of people would be very angry. Well, actually, even now, a lot of people are very angry. People are rallying around us, and hopefully we can change things soon. There are plans in the works

Self-augmenting is a lot different than being augmented through Augcorp. You don't have to – well, can't – undergo Zero usually. Most self-augmenters, no matter how good, can't manage an operation of that scale. There are some juvenile operations in Louisville where people are trying (and failing) to perform Zero, but beyond that, it isn't done outside of Augcorp.

In general, if you want to self-augment, you make contact with a family of your choice, and they pair you with someone else who has contacted them, of comparable skill level. Together, you and the other person study and do small procedures on yourselves, relying on each other for help. Ultimately, though, you'll be working on each other. At some point in your career, you will be expected to allow your partner to remove your heart, lungs, kidneys and liver, replacing them with better artificial versions. You will then do the same to them.

The Gilded Family is unique in that we don't use anesthetic for any of our operations. Instead, augmentees are expected to learn breathing exercises and meditative practices to ease the pain. We've actually developed chemicals that neutralize the effects of anesthetics, so no one can cheat. Those who can't do this should probably find another family. We are also unique in that we practice levitation of the type described here: http://www.physics.org/facts/frog-really.asp

Unfortunately, things have been slow lately, and there really aren't any other absolute beginners that you could pair with. I will keep you posted.

While I'm sure the non-anasthetic side of the family can be daunting and take some getting used to, this sounds incredibly interesting. Certainly better than the AugCorp alternative. The plans are a bit too sensitive to mention to an almost complete stranger. Suffice to say we have several people watching an incredibly dangerous young person who is involved with Augcorp. We wish him no harm, really, but he must be contained, and, if necessary, destroyed.

I thought it was interesting he said "complicado" instead of complicate, could that be the implants going haywire that astrofig mentioned before?

This is interesting....does that mean she's someone from this board, or who isn't with Augcorp?

Did anyone ever get in touch with Daniel? I'm going to try it tonight I think, if no one else has.

Edit: Okay, I finally did it. I asked him to tell me about Mach Girl. This is what he had to say:

"So Augcorp gets pissed that I'm down here in Louisville doing my thing, right? They send a few people down to start an Augcorp operation down here and augment people. There were several people sent, and one of them was this girl. I'm not sure how old she was, or what her name was, but she was supposed to be the director of the Augmentation Org down here. She shows up, rents some space and builds a clean room. Then, apparently weird things started happening to her, and she thought she was going crazy. People kept telling her she was crazy, but, well I suspect otherwise. Everybody in Augcorp thinks I was behind it, because, well, I'm in Louisville and I guess I have a motive for wanting to screw with their operations here. That's true, but I didn't do Mach Girl. They call her Mach Girl because at some point she became obsessed with Machiavelli. "

 		So Mach girl is probably "the subject" in the conversations with Sullivan, the psychiatrist.
I think the girl with the interesting name on here might refer to Thea Camille, the holy-roller. I've tried anagramming her name and you could probably put a twist on Machiavelli as a stretch....I have her as a friend, but not sure to approach her except for, "Why do you so dislike Augcorp?"
I wonder if she knows Daniel, and they share the same religious beliefs?

Or, I could come right out and ask Anthill who has the interesting name?

Drugs, maybe? Since they legalized most substances back in 1979, a lot of people have been using drugs. I personally don't think they should have EVER legalized them. Maybe those two got involved with methamphetamine or heroin and it destroyed their brains. I wouldn't put it past them. They were always kind of nasty people, and when people are nasty, it's usually because they aren't happy with themselves. People who aren't happy with themselves often resort to substance abuse.

Frances is… going through a lot right now. It's hard to explain, but she's a mess. She doesn't really take care of herself and gets fixated on things. I've tried to help her, and for awhile we did talk, but ever since she underwent Zero, it's like she can't stand to look at me. She literally leaves the room whenever I enter, and she doesn't even look me in the eye. It's strange. This started happening after I performed Zero on her.

Yes, people have been augmented past level ten. There's only one person currently signed up on this website who has, though, and that would be the CEO of Augcorp, Joseph Mather. He's at fifteen, which is the highest possible level of augmentation. I'm hoping to join him at that level in a year or so. He's a friendly guy, very intelligent. A family man. He may be wealthy, but he's humble.
