Answered Questions Thread

Instead of sleeping, I decided that I wanted to see how this thread would turn out.

Jay is dead.

Hoody is dead.

Alex is dead.

Bruce is dead.

Jessica is alive (maybe)

Tim is alive (maybe)

Hoody is Brian.

Other than that it's all speculation.

We know where the Operator takes people.

We know that the Operator distorts space and time.

We know that Tim was the source (for this particular incident).

We know that Alex's student film will remain unfinished.

We know that everything is fine (maybe)

We know that the pills help against the Operator.

We know how many tapes Alex has, we helped him load them into the car! If we run out of room on THIS tape, we'll just switch it out. It's not a problem- YOU BROUGHT YOUR DOG!

We know that Alex went crazy. He killed Bruce. People seem to forget that. He wasn't just killing people to get rid of The Operator. That could have been part of it, but he killed someone not at all involved.

Stopping the Operator was just Alex trying to rationalize the fact that this thing was making him kill people. He didn't want to admit that he was under it's control.

I've been wondering: Does this apply to Hoody too? Of course, he opposed Alex, would imply that he is not being controlled. But if "the control" of the operator is not that much "control", but rather changing the agression level of a person, similar to Jay in #82. So, if TO has any intentions at all, maybe it's just that he makes people crazy and then likes to sit back and watch how they respond to his stimulus and start makeing themselfs and other unhappy.

Hence Brian too, with his hole TTA thing, could been rationalizing his actions to himself, that he fights for some noble, yet unclear goal, whereas he really just likes to mess with people, because TO is amping up his rage. Remember how even sane Brian in #84 messed with Alex? Now imagine that amplyfied due too TO influence. Same thing for Jay, he also tried to rationalize his doings by some rather vague sense of obligation to "uncover the secrets" and keep some random internet community informed. He even clinged onto this whole "need safe Jessica" thing, even though it was not that important at that time. (Think of how furious Jay was about the Jessica thing after the events of #82 in #77, TO amplyfied his rage again.)

Since I don't want to break the format of this thread entirely:

1) We know that, although Alex attacked and "offered" them to TO, both Tim and Brian survived in one form or the other.

2) We know that #76 was not raw footage, but in fact edited to look as if Jessica were taken TO. (Either that or Tim picked her up from ... somewhere, after those events. Cf. Answered Question 1).

Yup.

Nah. Just too broad a statement on my part.

Regarding entry 29 noentry
Quote:
Looking back at the season 2 timeline reminded me that this entry is still considered to be a bit of a mystery for some people. If we look carefully we can find all the answers in Entry #52. Alex filmed this footage because that's the only way to be consistent with the following facts:

The footage was taken before Entry #27 was released.
Whoever filmed the footage had the chestcam and a handheld camera.
The footage ended up on Jay's laptop with the name "noentry".

Until Entry #52, Alex has the chestcam. In Entry #52 Jay takes the chestcam. The next morning he wakes up and Entry #27 takes place. That means that the only time Jay would have had to film this was the night he was mindraped by the operator.

We already know that Alex wasn't totally lucid in Entry #49 (as he thought a complete stranger was Jay.) In Entry #49 he wore the chestcam to monitor what he did in his fugue state. When he got home he copied the footage to his hard drive, and saw what happened that day. He then went back to the tunnel once he realised something bad had happened, and he took two cameras. (Why two? Back to that later...)

He gets to the tunnel as fast as he can, and gets interrupted by the operator. The footage gets stuck there. He realises Jay probably saw the murder of Bruce, that there's evidence of the murder, and he decides it's time that Jay has to go (Jessica too.) Things go wrong and Jay ends up stealing the hard drive and chestcam from Alex's car.

In Entry #52 Jay puts the hard drive and all the tapes in the safe, but does not put the chestcam in there. He keeps it outside the safe, with his laptop. He decides to wear the chestcam, but now he has a problem- he has to take the footage off the chestcam to make space for new footage, but he needs to do that without deleting the footage, and without putting it somewhere he'll find it if his memory gets wiped. So he copies the footage across to the only place he has available- his laptop hard drive. He puts on the chestcam and that night his memory is wiped, and next morning he finds this footage on his laptop, with a mysterious message from pastJay that he shouldn't upload the footage.

Why did Alex take two cameras? We know from entries #64 and #65 that the handheld cams are less susceptible to interference than the chestcam (compare what Jay's camera and Tim's camera see in the same locations) but that the chestcam is waterproof. To get footage that survives the slendyverse the chestcam is needed. To get footage in this world the handheld cameras are more reliable. It's possible Alex wanted to make himself look innocent too, as he did with the 2006 tapes when he gave them to Jay.

There we go. The only explanation that is consistent with what we know from season 2.

I don't think this was answered, actually. In fact, I've begun to think that perhaps the reason why this place was never really explored & why it seemed so easy to escape from is that it was never a place to begin with, but rather normal locations that just looked strange due to all of the distortion.

If that was the case then Tim should have been well aware of this. Thus, if he killed himself, it was to make sure he wouldn't kill anyone else. Not just the idea that TO could spread.

Tim was aware, he said it to Alex. Tim had learned to block it out, as he told Alex. With the right balance of medication and therapy, he believed he could overcome it.

What I meant is that we know what people are seeing/feeling when they're taken alive, and we know where the corpses end up when they're dead. We know more about where they end up than we did the first time we saw someone get taken.

I think the only thing I learned was that Bruce's body never decayed.

What actually happens to Alex?

From the beginning to the end?

Because at times it definitely seems like he's working with Oppy, Oppy even comes to his rescue at times, but then he claims at he's trying to stop Oppy.

Does he just change his mind part way through Season 3?

I believe we're meant to assume that the Operator protects Alex because Alex is easy to manipulate. Alex's claim that he's trying to stop the Operator being a lie he tells himself and others to hide from the fact that it's controlling him.
