The 2nd one? That would be Resident Evil 2, which received a generally well-received Nintendo 64 port (which I haven't played but apparently is considered to be the superior port by some people). And then 3 had a GameCube port and 4 was actually GC exclusive for a few months, and Revelations was originally 3DS exclusive. And then the first game's GC remake is generally considered far superior to the PSX original and one of the best games in the series overall.

So yeah, RE has a history with Nintendo, to say the least. 5 & 6 are the only main series games without Nintendo releases.

I have the same question. Having recently learned that apparently STA cut out a good deal of what they'd written, I am wondering whether the plot that's been added in the updates is restoring stuff Trosephim wrote that wasn't in the original release or whether someone else is writing the new stuff.

I'm unsure. The video doesn't mention who wrote the new content, although imo it would be sloppy (and a little insulting to Trosephim) to worm another writer into the mix at this point. I can only speculate that if there was material left over, Blue Isle Studios would use that, and switch writers when the next game is in development if that's what they desired.

I hope they're reusing old stuff, because as much as the constant re-releasing of the same game with a few extra scenes is pissing me off, this is a pretty rich plot. That said, the sudden shift towards specific details & backstory does make me wonder if it's not the same writers.

Happens all the time, though, in every form of publishing, from games to print. Companies don't care and are happy to exploit writers' names to try to gin up press and sales.

Probably if the guys were annoyed that their ideas were left out, some of what they'd left behind, the rights for which they'd already signed over to the studio, was given to another writer or two.

On a side note, if they are adding back stuff they'd cut out, then I understand why Trosephim might have been pissed about the original cut, because the pre-Steam version was really not nearly as complete a story as the updated.
