I don't think he was shot...I think he had his leg go through the floor while being shot at. Alex can't seem to hit a moving target very well.

People can say what they want about lost, outside of the whispers there was a scientific explanation for pretty much everything. Feel free to PM me if you have doubts.

I personally actually liked Lost overall, and while it had problems, most had less to do with "unanswered questions" and more to do with "questions which turned out to have disappointing answers", and most of the issues weren't from the ending but from problems that developed a few seasons earlier. Most of the really important questions were answered. Also worth noting before this comes up, only the flash-sideways timeline was purgatory, not the whole series.

Yeah, Lost answered quite a few more questions than most people seem willing to admit.

Spoilers for the end of Lost:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Yeah, can't figure why that one confuses people. Jack's dad says, very clearly and in English, "everything that's ever happened to you is real" and that they all converged in the purgatory-like realm because they were the most important people in each other's lives, which would only be true if the time they had spent together on the island had been real.

What, you don't consider the various strangers on plane rides with you to be the most important people in your life?

Hey, I didn't wanna make another topic for this, but what if the Ark is the end? Like, the end of this whole experience. Makes sense. The Ark, as some people have theorized, seems to be related to safety. Tim/Masky have successfully survived the whole series (with Jay's help, hence "you will lead me to the ark"). Hoody wanted to survive the series as well, but he made some kind of epiphany that he has just as much a chance to die as everyone else (explaining the "lead me to death, lead me to the ark" Hoody was giving Jay and Tim a choice). In Null, he accepted death and simply left the message for Tim that "ark (ending) awaits". The other parts of Null showed that Hoody knew that Tim would tell us the secret in the end.

I'm pretty sure that The Ark means revenge.

Brian blames Alex for what happened during the MH shoot. This is evident from Decay where he says, "YOU CAUSED THIS. YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGIVEN." All of his actions point to wanting Alex dead, and we never see him try to do anything except that. In Null, he claims "ARK AWAITS". The very next entry Tim, who blamed Brian for setting up Jay's death, get's his revenge by killing Brian. Masky and Brian believed that Jay would be an important part in getting their revenge on Alex, "I'm coming for you. And you will lead me to The Ark." And, "HE WILL LEAD ME TO YOU. LEAD ME TO DEATH. LEAD ME TO THE ARK." Those quotes being from Entry ###### and Decay. In a way this did happen, Tim (albeit not in his alternate personality) worked with Jay to put a stop to Alex's actions. The way Brian said the events would occur did happen; Brain died, but in the end, someone got The Ark.

For once, I actually agree with you. Lost's rep is undeservedly bad, for such a good show.

The Correct Ending
I've written the correct script for the ending, Entry 88

All right, I've been hard at work, but I finally managed to write the perfect ending to this series. We need to get this to the creators before they ship the DVDs, so they can end everything properly. So here's the script for Entry #88:

Scene 1 wrote:
SCENE 1

[the entry opens with a black background. White text appears]

TEXT: I've changed my mind. Everything is not fine. This won't stop until someone takes action. That someone is me.

[the blackness gives way to a camcorder recording. The camera is pointed at Tim, who is in the driver's seat, with a determined look on his face]

[a voice is heard, Jessica's. She is evidently holding the camera]

JESSICA: You really think this will work? You're sure that if we can get through Rosswood tunnel, we'll end all of this?

TIM: We have to try. It's the only way to stop the Operator, and the only way to avenge Jay.

JESSICA: Jay... to think that he was taken before I could see him again, before I could tell him... I loved him.

TIM: If this goes well, he'll be avenged. If not, you'll be able to tell him yourself. [pauses] We've arrived.

[Tim parks the car and gets out. Jessica follows, turning the camera towards Rosswood Forest. For a moment, the Operator can be seen within, accompanied by a slight burst of distortion. Jessica makes no note of this]

JESSICA: [while filming Rosswood] I've watched all of your videos, so I'm curious, how do you expect to even make it through the tunnel?

TIM: [not shown, his voice heard from the background] I learned more about the pills I've been taking. It turns out one of the primary compounds is derived from a plant that only grows here in Rosswood. The synthetic version has entered mainstream pharmaceutical practices as an anti-convulsant, but the pills have another side-effect, innoculating the subject against the reality-distorting effects of Rosswood, and by extension the Operator. I was able to get some of the plant and extract a purer, natural version of the compound. With the extract, we should be able to get through Rosswood tunnel without a problem.

JESSICA: But what if the Operator shows up? Even Jay wasn't able to overcome it in hand-to-hand combat when he fought it.

TIM: The Operator may be able to disrupt reality...

[the camera pans to show Tim, holding a shotgun]

TIM: But I've got some disruption of my own.

[Tim cocks the shotgun]

Scene 2 wrote:
SCENE 2

[the footage cuts to just outside of Rosswood tunnel. Tim is standing at the edge, looking in, shotgun resting on his shoulder]

TIM: Did you take the extract?

JESSICA: [still holding the camera] Yes. You?

[Tim says nothing, but begins walking. The two walk in silence for a while]

JESSICA: Maybe this won't be so hard after all.

[suddenly, the distortion grows loud and strong. Jessica wheels the camera around the reveal the Operator standing behind them]

TIM: Eat lead, you faceless monster!

[Tim fires his shotgun twice. Just as suddenly, the Operator raises a hand. The sound of countless pieces of buckshot hitting the walls and floor echo throughout the tunnel]

JESSICA: It's not working!

TIM: Run for the other side!

[the distortion continues to wail as the two run to the other end of the tunnel]

[the two emerge into a wooded clearing. Throughout the clearing, tall trees can seen, with rusted manacles nailed into them. Strapped to the each of the trees by ropes and manacles are human skeletons, their limbs stretched out unnaturally long]

TIM: Alex was right all along! The collective suffering of these murderers and pedophiles must have created a ghost formed from the combination of all of these restless souls! But wait, what's this?

[Jessica runs over to Tim, briefly pointing the camera at Rosswood tunnel. The Operator cannot be seen]

[the camera pans over to one tree, where the manacles are hanging loosely, and the ropes are dangling. Unlike all of the other trees, no skeleton is strapped to the tree]

TIM: Someone must have escaped! But did they escape before the tree stretched their limbs, or...

[a voice booms from all around them, deep and hoarse, with no discernible source]

VOICE: I escapedeth not to this earthly realm, but to a realm outside thine own, madeth real by the suffering of these wretched criminals! Behold, I shall take thee to the Ark!

Scene 3 wrote:
SCENE 3

[the footage cuts to show pure blackness. A coughing sound can be heard. After a while, footsteps grow closer, and the camera moves as it is picked up]

JESSICA: [calling out] Hello? Anyone? Is anyone there?

[the camera pans around, occasionally revealing spots of light in the distance. One spot is nearer, and a cluster of figures can be seen standing inside it]

JESSICA: Hey! Hey!

[Jessica runs towards the figures. As they grow closer, we see that they are Alex, Brian, Tim, and Amy]

JESSICA: [angrily] Alex! You monster!

ALEX: [sadly] Yes, I am a monster. I allowed my hatred for the Operator turn me against my friends, and drive me to try and kill them all. I held out hope that I could start a new life... [he looks longingly to Amy, who takes his hand] but when the Operator found me again, I snapped.

AMY: But even as you did this, you tried to find me, holding out hope that I could be saved. But when you learned that I had been completely corrupted by the Operator, traveling back in time to appear in three different masks in an effort to spread its influence, you felt you had no choice but to end my suffering.

ALEX: I'm sorry, trying to kill everyone was the wrong choice.

TIM: We forgive you. If we can get out of this alive, maybe we can finish that pretentious film of yours.

ALEX: It'd be a lot easier without that faceless jerk messing up my shots!

[the gang laughs]

JESSICA: I'm glad we're friends again. But where is Jay?

ALEX: We haven't found him.

[again the voice is heard from all around]

VOICE: Nor shall thee ever! I hath chosen the lad to be mine prodigy, to prevail where Alex faltered, to spreadeth mine influence once more!

TIM: [cocking his shotgun] Never! As long as we are in your Ark, we'll do whatever we can to heal those you take!

VOICE: [laughs a low, menacing laugh] Then I shall crush thine skulls. Let this be the end of thee!

[the camera distorts wildly, and we can only vaguely tell that the Operator has appeared before the group]

JESSICA: Maybe this will help! Tim's extract!

[Jessica's hand can be seen in the frame, holding a vial of green liquid. She unstops the vial and pours it onto the lens. The distortion fades, and we can clearly see Tim standing before the Operator, firing his shotgun]

VOICE: Fool! Thine mortal weapons shalt not prevail!

[the Operator waves an arm, slamming Tim and sending him flying]

VOICE: And as for thee, rebellious child...

[with unnatural speed, the Operator rushes Alex, holding him aloft, squeezing his neck]

VOICE: I shalt taketh mine time crushing thee.

AMY: [rushing the Operator, clawing at its arm to no effect] No! What can we do?

BRIAN: Tim, catch!

[Brian throws a bottle of pills to Tim]

TIM: I've already taken an extract, you dolt!

BRIAN: The pills aren't for you, they're for the gun!

TIM: What? [pause] Of course!

[Tim ejects the cartridge from his shotgun, slamming the bottle of pills into the chamber]

TIM: You're gonna need some major surgery once after this!

[Tim cocks the shotgun, and a plume of white powder drifts out from the chamber and barrel]

TIM: But good luck finding someone willing to OPERATE on you!

[Tim fires the shotgun at the Operator, who is covered in white powder]

VOICE: No! NO!! NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

[a low rumbling is heard, everyone loses their balance, and the view goes black]

Scene 4 wrote:
SCENE 4

[the footage resumes, showing everyone lying in the clearing surrounded by the trees with manacled skeletons on them. The camera moves as if being picked up]

JESSICA: Is that it? Did we win?

[the camera pans over Alex, Amy, Brian, and Tim, who are all slowly getting up]

ALEX: How would we know? The Operator may still be out there.

[a voice is heard from behind a nearby tree, which the camera whips around to show]

VOICE: He's not going to be a problem anymore.

JESSICA: Who are you? And how do you know?

[from around the tree steps Jay. He has a bandage wrapped around his stomach]

JAY: [smiling] I have a hunch.

[the camera falls to the forest floor]

JESSICA: Jay! You're alive! I love you!

[though the camera is on its side, we can still see Jessica runs towards Jay, embracing him and kisses him repeatedly. We see Tim approach the camera pick pick it up, pointing it at Jessica and Jay]

JAY: I love you too, Jessica. Will you marry me?

JESSICA: Yes, of course! Let's get married right away! Does anyone know a good priest?

[another voice can be heard]

VOICE: Forsooth, I canst do the job!

[the camera whips around to show a man dressed in a suit, which is far too large for him]

ALEX: Who are you?

MAN: I was once knowneth as Jeremiah. I didst live with early settlers within this land. We performed the practice of executing our most loathsome criminals on yonder fasteth growing trees. But one day, I didst try and introduce a new technology unto the people, which couldst record images of them! They didst brand me a warlock, and set me here to be killed. They wouldst believe the camera trapped their spirits, and so in grim irony, took a photo of me upon attaching me unto yonder tree, covering my face with it so that I suffocated as the tree stretched my limbs.

[the man gestures to the tree that is missing a corpse]

BRIAN: So that's why you can appear wherever cameras are!

JEREMIAH: Indeed, for the suffering of these wretched men didst infuse this clearing with ye olde quantum disruption, such that my innocent suffering, combined with the camera's usage, didst trap me in a pocket dimension, from which I couldst not escape. That is, until...

ALEX: People invented cameras, which allowed you to gaze into the world, and eventually manifest yourself!

JEREMIAH: Very astute, whippersnapper! But my grasp on this realm was weak, and my manifestation lacked certain... features.

TIM: [accusingly] But why did you mess people up so badly? Removing our memories and making us sick? And why are you talking normally now?

JEREMIAH: Alas, I could not accurately perceive the effects of my actions, my perceptions being distorted by quantum mist. At first I believed I merely frightened people. When I realized that the quantum disruptions caused by my crossing of the planes was causing sickness, I made an effort to bring the affected into my realm, to stop the corruption and work out a solution diplomatically. As for my speech, I'm just a quick learner.

JAY: But when you spoke to us while we were in the Ark - I mean, pocket dimension - was not nice at all. How do you expect us to believe your intentions are good?

JEREMIAH: Tragically, the souls of these wretched men became aware of my actions, and tainted my spirit with their malice. I became possessed by their evil. But with the powder derived from the plant of this wood, I was able to throw them off and cast their souls into quantum annihilation for good! There will never be another Operator, created as it was by the wickedness of murderers and pedophiles such as these.

[Jeremiah points to the skeletons on the trees, as well as a body on the ground next to the gang, the body of the hiker who Alex killed]

AlLEX: [sadly] He was just an innocent victim, not a pedophile.

JEREMIAH: That is where you are wrong! He was both a pedophile and a murderer! While you were traveling Rosswood, he was trying to track down a number of children who had escaped form his clutches. He only used his music as a ruse, and was indeed planning to kill you within this very tunnel! The children are also safe.

ALEX: I guess I don't have to worry about that, then!

[the gang laughs]

JEREMIAH: Now that I have exhaustively explained everything, I can join Jay and Jessica in marriage, and we can all live in peace!

BRIAN: While you're at it, old man...

[Brian walks over to Tim, who hands the camera to Alex]

BRIAN: Tim, I know we've had our differences, but now that this is over, let's try and live a normal life. I love you.

TIM: I love you too. You're right, we should put aside our differences and try and recover what we can of our lives, after all these wasted years.

JEREMIAH: Wrong again, my friend! As one final gift to you all, with all that remains of my power, I have twisted Rosswood tunnel one last time. When you emerge, you will find yourselves taken back into the past, before all of this has happened! As for me, I will teleport myself far from here, to live my life in peace.

JAY: You've earned it, Jeremiah. We can never repay you for all the things you've taught us!

JEREMIAH: Perhaps not. Though there is one thing on my mind, one last question.

ALEX: Name it.

JEREMIAH: What does Marble Hornets mean?

ALEX: Oh, that! The main character of the film used to carve little marble figurines with his family and sell the carvings at local art shows. This was his favorite childhood memory. However, he cut himself when trying to carve a hornet from marble, which triggered a downward spiral which led to him distancing himself from his family. So the title, Marble Hornets, alludes to the character's idealized childhood, and his efforts to regain what was lost and heal the rifts his departure created between himself and the people he grew up with.

JEREMIAH: That is well enough. Farewell!

[there is one last burst of distortion, and Jeremiah has disappeared. The skeletons strapped to the trees crumble to dust]

BRIAN: I'm ready to put this all behind me, how about you, Tim?

[Brian walks over to Tim, who is facing away from the camera, his face in his hands]

BRIAN: Oh my gosh, Tim, are you all right?

TIM: Oh, Brian...

[Tim lowers his hands, and we see that he has been weeping for joy]

TIM: Everything is fine!

Send word to Trosephim. This needs to be on the DVD as a bonus feature.

That was hilarious. I'd love to see Trosephim re-enact this, similar to how they performed/drew the "Very Bad Fanfiction" shorts.

Odd question, but... in light of these last entries, was Tim lying in #15, or not?

i don't know why the two of you at the top of this page felt the need to spoil a big part of the last season of lost, but it is very clearly not ok to do so. please edit your posts

I honestly would have preferred titlebreaker's ending. I'm not even kidding. That was so well written and funny. Good job.
