I have been spec'ing in chat that the name of the page that the "proceed" link is on ---> wpfd.html is a clue in itself. The latest email from psammead does say "a name can tell you many things". Notice "a name" rather than "names" in the previous email.

My spec is that "wpfd" is encrypted using the same method/key as the password. So what would be a likely 4 letter name for that page? We've been specing poem, name, main, clue and html among others. So figure out wpfd = ???? may give us an insight into ADIGONES = ????????

(ADIGONES is "standing stones" with doubles removed as instructed)

Confused

In his last email, psammead said we're not looking for an anagram. "a ragman" is an anagram of "anagram"

Spec: Who is Shadowtalk1

According to the emails from Angie, she reports hearing Don Marzano mention "the wish" and that "the wish" would find Dale.

Spec: Greywethers/Shadowtalk1/Sand Fairy = The Wish????

just spec'ing out loud...

could 1+2+6=10 mean 1+2+6=ten, so 1=t, 2=e, and 6=n?

the way that you are starting
is certainly correct
that each page yields two letters
you rightly did detect

perhaps by counting pages
and writing down names you find
a pattern will grow clear to you
and trigger something in your mind

these names made up of numbers
are quite intentional in size
they're meant to show there's two on each
one on either side

the names tell you which two are there
now find what they become
the plus sign has a purpose
but it's not to find a sum

ok I sent this...

Quote:
cannot find the simple word
I need to pass proceed
I'm trying everything I know
There's something I don't see

I know my math is up to par
1 and 2 and 6 isn't 10
then methinks I could be wrong
and, oh, could it equal "ten"?

Could 1 be "t" and 2 be "e"?
I really do not know
then "n" would be 6, oh my,
but now where do I go?

Am I on the correct path?
Or am I all alone
in my thinking I must know,
could you at least throw me a bone?

(hey, I'm not a poet)
and received this...

Here's what I'm thinking...

so the names of the pages tell us which letters of the alphabet are on which pages.

1+6.html has the letters a+f
so a is 3+7=10 and f is 1+2+6=10 ?

but then what would you do with the pages with three equations like..

12+17.html (l+q)
2+2=4 and 3+2=5 and 1+6=7

ugh

And I sent this:

Quote:
Hello,

1+6.html

1+2+6=10

Does this represent I/J 9=I 10=J ?

9=10 does this mean base 9 ?

wpfd.html is wpfd a clue?

Thanks,
dashcat

And received this:

in answer to your questions
no and no and no
the 1+6 has meaning
a pair it's meant to show

perhaps by counting pages
and writing down names you find
a pattern will grow clear to you

More help from psammead

Subject: triplet

the name of each page has two numbers
and on each many formulas fall
but the thing that you need
is an alphabet indeed
as twenty six there is total in all

so if 1 plus 6 equals letters
one on each side of the sign
how could you know
how the other numbers go
there must be some way to divine

there's one thing that separates the numbers
on the page as the same in the name
so look for that sign
it's there by design
and it shows you which ones are the same

Spec: Next message from psammead:

Quote:
It's a puzzle, you jerk
Can't you all do this work?
The "a" is a three
And the "2" is a "c"

Now get it in gear
No more hints now, that clear?
If you think you're so smart
More matter, less brainfart!
