It also sort of helps that I've actually had a crazy man yelling at me over the internet, so I sort of know what it looks like. Look up Dennis Marzuke/Dave Mabus.

Oh... that guy. Brr... I've heard of him before. Far and away worse than any one I've encountered who had very scary severe illness. (I really don't mean to seem to be disparaging mental illness--I have some friends and a couple of family members who suffer it.) There was, however, one former homeless guy who lived in our one building. Had a habit of showing up wherever we were, monopolized certain parts of the building, could talk your ear off for an hour plus in bitter cold (I remember watching a half-consumed bottle of Poland Spring water in his pocket congeal and harden on one freezing morning when all I'd wanted to do was take out hte recycling) about who was keeping his music career and computer career down (part of it involved John Lennon and Paul McCartney) and other "insights" into the sordid underworkings of our Boston suburb. He'd show up everywhere and make life uncomfortable. Couldn't wait to leave. But I could honestly see someone like Brian becoming someone like that because something'd crumbled in his brain. All it needs is a trigger. I've seen it happen to a couple of people, too. Makes me a little more sympathetic to THAC for trying to rely on expressionistic cinema and odd codes to try to convey how this character tries to get what his poor corrupted mind perceives as "justice."

I could see him becoming "that guy," but I'd think it would be much more debilitating.

One of my best friends is legitimately bipolar and I suffer from some pretty bad depression myself. You can trust I know what I'm talking about when I say that Markuze is crazy with a capital CRAZY.

But let's not get on that tangent, please.
