Re: Did someone try and reach out... inbox deleted

Hey, anyone know a admin around here... really sad all my pms are erased : ( Could this possibly be part of the game?

thedarkone wrote:
Did someone from here recently (a week ago or so) try and send me a PM?

I was away on vacation, and I guess I had two PMs come in. They showed up when I logged in, they also show up on my E-mail (was notified they came in) but now my inbox is completely empty... as well as my out box : ( That sucks.

Hope I didn't miss something interesting. Sad there really have not been any new developments other than the one hacker, and the pulling of the cypher.

Just a friendly hint - IF the Latitude Society has a strong focus on secrecy - it stands to reason that they may take a long time observing/vetting their possible candidates...and if I were looking for possible recruits on a forum - I imagine I would want to look for the most stable and trustworthy sources - and those with a near infinite amount of patience.

Just adding my two cents, but if I were involved in planning a huge, complex, secret society - and someone were insulting the integrity of it, by insinuating that it's stringing people along, constantly delayed for no good reason, etc - I would probably not want to directly involve such an individual in a group I has spent so much time building.

Well, that would depend on the type of Secret Society you were trying to build, no?

Hypothetically speaking (and in binary and hyperbolic terms, and not referring to anyone in particular)...

If you wanted to start some sort of autocratic society or cult of personality, then yes, I guess you would want folks that sat around quietly with infinite patience, waiting for you to tell them when and how high to jump; members that are unlikely to speak up or dare to question or criticize you, sipping on their lattes until they are summoned, tempered with anxiety of losing privilege or access.

But if you wanted to build a society of people who questioned the status quo and everything, challenged authority, pushed each other to be better and open and clear; people who dared to look up; individuals with unbridled curiosity; a society of Fools...then perhaps you would want a different type of membership.

...

But to be clear, I don't think I, for one, was suggesting they are delayed for no good reason. I just said they should let us know they are delayed if that is the case.

Meanwhile, is there anyone curious about the other domain Everlee Tsay registered? 10 letters, starts and ends with the letter D. If you want hints on where/how to find some clues, I can give you some. The lack of conversation around this juicy tidbit seems noteworthy.

Maybe there are only like a dozen folks in here anymore. Or maybe there are more, and the relative silence could be a combination of apathy, fear, or passivity.

Please do...I spent ages looking for more details yesterday but drew a blank.

I was almost tempted to just pay (but not quite tempted enough)...

I guess you could PM if the clues are a bit spoilerish?

I commend your curiosity.

Here is one clue. I will post more, but will begin with more challenging ones:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
To find your way, it's almost like getting Lost.

So
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
d***island.com
? I spent a few hours trying to find it yesterday too.. To no avail.

I was also able to leave a message at the 512 number a couple days ago. Haven't heard back at all.

Why be coy about knowing an answer? Just post it in a spoiler.

Here's a different method to find the answer. I'll hide that, too, if people want to continue guessing based on hints.
non-specific steps
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Step 1: Find the IP address of the server where nonchalance.org is hosted.
(I have a Firefox extension called "Show IP" which displays it automatically, but you might have other web domain tools or look-up sites).

Step 2: Do a reverse IP search for other domains hosted on that server.
(I use whois.webhosting.info but it has become SLOW to load even the search box -- WAIT to post the IP in the advanced whois box, not the search box -- and even SLOWER to return an answer list).

specific answer to step 1
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
nonchalance.org
208.80.5.223

specific answer to step 2
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

Showing 1 - 19 out of 19 Domain Names:
1 BELLINGHAMARTHRITIS.COM
2 BIRD2BRAIN.COM
3 BLACKFOUNDERSCONFERENCE.COM
4 BRIDGEGATELABS.COM
5 CHRONIC-ACHES.COM
6 DABBLEWOOD.COM
7 DECHERTASSOCIATES.COM
8 HGMARINA.COM
9 IMGMASTERS.COM
10 JUDSONPRESCHOOL.COM
11 NONCHALANCE.COM
12 NONCHALANCE.ORG
13 OPERAPOPOLARE.COM
14 RADARRADVISORS.COM
15 STRETTYNEWS.COM
16 TECHX29.COM
17 WABASHCHURCH.COM
18 WABASHPRES.COM
19 WHOLEMOTHERSHOW.COM

(NOTE: not all of those domains might be related to Nonchalance, as they might simply be sharing space. Do a registry lookup to confirm who owns them.)

Do with that info what you want. (Also, repeat for other important domains).

I am assuming that most folks in here actually enjoy trying to solve puzzles.

Yes, you could rollover what Catherwood posted, and find the answer.

Or you could play along, while we wait, and to sharpen our skills:

Here is clue #1.2:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Aren't you trying to figure out the entrance to the rabbit hole?

Here is clue #2:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
To find the answer, seek the source.

And if you are still wanting more, here is clue #3:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
This link is directly related to the entrance to the rabbit hole I am referring to...the hole that will lead you to the secret word: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhcIwzNNYAM

And feel free to brainstorm together.

PS. The secret word doesn't contain "Island" or "Dead".

2 Locksmiths?

On a Missing poster for Eva, there was this number (415) 449-7953, which went to Detective Chen.

Today, I called twice in row, and a man picked up and said he is a locksmith; I asked for the name, and he says 24/7 Locksmith.

That number actually now comes up under:

A1 Lockmasters 1032 Irving San Francisco 94122

Another number, for Edward Zahn (on the back of the 508 postcard), is 415-704-0997. Turns out they are also Locksmiths...

Around the Clock, with address 439 Hyde St, SF 94109
Other numbers: 888-640-2020 and 415-762-0800

Interesting, no? Both people you can call at any time to get into somewhere that is locked. However, both weren't able to get me into The Latitude Society Smile If this is not meaningful, I still think it is a cool coincidence.

Any locals want to swing by those addresses? The first looks like it is UPS store. The second one looks more residential.

.

Note: on another flyer, the number for Louis Chen, Private Eye, is 415-449-7955. This seems to go to the voicemail of some guy that works for Zendesk.

P.S. I just purchased the domain www.TheLatitudeSociety.com for less that $2 (frankly, i was shocked that it was available). Not sure what I am going to do with it, but maybe we can start a site that contains clues. I will be sure to indicate that it is an unofficial site.

Has anyone else had their entire inbox here deleted? I was working with some people... I think I was the first one to get a reply with the PLECA code...

And now everything I had here vanish. I also had two new messages that I was never able to read... Was it anyone here?

Red Herring alert: Everlee Tsay is likley not an anagram, since that is the name of Jeff's son.

--

TheDarkOne: you could try to ask the admins listed in the upper left corner.

What people were you working with? What reply with the PLECA code did you get (or did you mean outgoing voice message)?

 I may be getting somewhere

So, long story short: me and a group of about 100 people, specifically 3 of the 100, have been checking this out.

After seeing this image posted earlier in the thread: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BI4ApP5CUAA_9YB.jpg:large

I realized that this may be coordinates, as it says Elsewhere.

Sure enough, 16SLa, 62WLo brings us to Bolivia - just off of a road.

Am I insane for wanting to go to Bolivia to check this out?

The city to the south looks exactly like the one in the old picture

just go on google maps and type 16s, 62w

AND THE CITY NAME HAS 10 LETTERS

So (4 Letters)-Concepcion-1662

This does sound a little far fetched... interesting. But I don't know... Worst case you take an awesome trip and find its nothing : )

My inbox is gone...

Welp, it seems a few people in here have lost their entire inbox...

Is anyone else in my boat? What a bummer.

ON a side note... Is there some way we could get short and concise list of things people have found all put together. Everything you have found to see if we can find some consistency or if some of these things are just epic straw grasps ; )
