Re: Phaedra, reporting in...

I was willing to let it drop, but P here had to go into a tizzy after those linked posts I made basically either made my point for me, or said it better than I ever could - that while ILB players were welcomed, this was a Halo 2 event, first and foremost. ILB was merely the vessel.

You'd think that after a few of these, you'd get the pattern. You guys think something, I disagree, giant argument slash flamewar, hurt feelings all around, what I said happens*, repeat.

Oh, crums. Scumbag is using one of my posts for support. Breathe... breathe... must... keep... mouth... shut... must... not... feed... the... trolls...

Perhaps "scumbag was laughing," but Shad0 was not.

Yes! Please! For the love of Dana! Amen! Can't we all just get along? Mr. Green

I'll try to keep my report brief, as many have already spoken.

First, I have to apologize to son of a beep, who tried valiantly to follow my crazy lane changes.

Thanks to spie for his efforts devoted to fixing my glasses. It seems I've abused them beyond makeshift repair.

I just have to say that it was great witnessing the puzzle solving skills of the entire Chicago crew (minus myself). Although I had nothing to contribute, I enjoyed watching all those brilliant minds at work.

And can I just say, angelo was just ADORABLE with that phone and notebook!!!

Now that the shout-outs are done:

I could have played on the city-link big screens, but I decided it was unfair. I had gone up to the front of the theater to watch my bf, his friend, and angelo play a round (strange how they all got into the same game). The guys picking names to play came over to me and asked if I was Jennifer (she'd been called just a few minutes earlier to play city-link) and I said "no, I'm Kali". The game starts and the same guy comes up to me and asks me if I want/am able to be on deck to play the next city-link game. I assumed that they picked my name because I was a chick and they knew my name, so I declined. As much as I like to use blatant sexuality to get ahead in life, I don't like to cheat. Also, I'm a bit self concious about my playing skills, so I didn't want to broadcast my possible failure on the big screen.

As others have mentioned, I did get a chance to play in the last game of the evening, and all I have to say about that is DUAL WIELDING ROCKS!!! Rock On

I did have a hard time finding enemies to kill (due to the map's verticality, making the radar less than useful), which was a bit of a downer.

Okay, this is a bit longer than I thought it would be, but oh, the delightful confusion of everyone at Denny's at the sight of our beeloving mob. How many tables did we commandeer? Did anyone count?

One last thing: the Badgers are STILL UNDEFEATED after having wrested Paul Bunyon's Axe from the grasping hands of Minnesota. GO BUCKY!

I went to the new york training event, I admit... it was pretty fun Smile. But thoughout the time I had this overwhelming feeling of like, pure regret. This whole time I wanted to get in on the fun, but I felt to... like... timid to participate. I'm always like that though...

I see all these people with there large 200+ post counts and I really, really dont feel like I would fit in, not with all these experenced people who have already made a difference.

It was fun, I liked playing halo 2, the games a winner for sure. But I just felt so damn lonely and that really detracted from the experence. And knowing that if a PM or a cast memeber was there, that I wouldnt be much to fuss about from the get go kinda hit me hard to. So... it was fun in a way, but it could have been much more, it the fault is on me too.

(I'm really, realy sorry about this post... I just needed to rant a bit because I've been in a major depressive slump over all of this. Your all welcome to disregard this if you want to ^^;; )

Azaketh I can relate and sympathize completely. I've been lurking here for a while now, just because I thought I'd get in everybody's way (now that it's over, I feel like I'm posting too much, ugh). I think of it this way, if you were able to tell anyone about Ilovebees, then you're just as much a crewmember as anybody.

You guys both are just as much crew memebers as anyone else. Wether you posted or not you're still a part of us.

I'm sorry to hear that you felt left out. I know at the Chicago event the keepers went out of their way to make sure everyone was involved. Just know that you are welcome to post as much as you like, and you're definitely BeeKeepers!

Agreed...

Let me second Angelo. Please, please believe that you are welcome here, and you have no need to be intimidated. We're really not scary...

Trust me, none of us *really* know what we're doing. That is, except Phaedra. Razz

I joined this thing knowing next to nothing and frankly I still don't think I really stand out at all, but I went to the event and people knew me. How weird is that!?

Just because you don't post online doesn't mean you aren't contributing plenty just by being a part of it and exeriencing it with us. Didn't you have some fun in hearing the story play out?

Yeah, no kidding... I would've been the "strong, silent, lurkery type" too if Mel hadn't dropped an axon in my back yard (giving or taking a couple thirty miles... Wink ) ... and with the same swift upheaval that got me started here (I saw a post on the Gamefaqs H2 board August 23rd about it and got vacuumed into all this) I was suddenly an active participant. (Though, considering that I never actually got to ANSWER a phone until week 11, I don't know how active I turned out to be...)

Nevertheless, as long as you've been following the story, watching the plot unfold, and wishing right alongside the rest of us that J^2 was hiding in a bunker somewhere and not really dead, then you're just as much a Beekeeper as I am, or anyone else here is.

Wow, coming form the comm. spec., and the human translator that means heap-loads (whole butt-loads in fact) Very Happy . I myself enhottenated a few axons, but I was really trying to look at it from the viewpoint of someone who followed along frequently, never posted, never participated in any of the picture submissions and lived too-far from axons. I think that if you follow the game regularly, you're definitely a beekeeper, and you shouldn't feel left out of the whole group of beekeepers here, or at the training exercize. But if you interacted, even a tiny bit like telling a friend about ilovebees, then that makes you a crewmember.

angelo is the bestest - I LOVED the image of us all standing and perching and sitting around him with his cell phone clamped firmly to side of head, as he scribbled in a notebook, and we're all, "puck! hockey! rugby? Hmmm, football? That's elliptical! What about a hockey rink? Stitches? Does anyone here do cross stitch? Do you sew, Goddesses?"

angelo = teh adorable

Hell, we're all the bestest. Chi-town! Raaar!

What's worse, that someone asked "does anyone here do cross-stitch" or the fact that at least one of us had? Wink

Hey, don't diss the cross stitch! Medieval knights used to embroider their own tabards, you know. Razz

(and just so you know, I'm goofing off, not being snippy)

Long time lurker, first time poster. Forgive me in advance for this being a bit off topic but. I have been following the story and enjoying it to the fullest, even though I didn't get nvolved nearly as early as I would have hoped. I wish I had just built up the courage earlier to really get active and participate openly. I would have tried and done a few axons few only there would be some in canada. To all of you who have posted before me on this topic with kind and even encouraging words to lurkers(Much love to you <3). I thank you, this motivated me enough to finally post a message. Well yes, I've been enjoying this entire experience and the only part I regret I've mentioned a bit earlier in this post. But yes now to redeem this message and bring it on topic, Everyone who participated at the events and enjoyed themselves I envie you. From all I hear it was great fun. Oh and now hopefully Due to the exposure I've had to the ARg genre through ILb I'll be sticking around for a few more and see how it's like to really participate and be active in puzzle solving and such. All right I'm done.

*Un-hijacks the thread*
