In my humble opinion, any 'secret society' that merely advertises on Craigslist and holds open auditions, is hardly a secret society at all...

Best to stay alert, vigilant, and patient - who knows what kind of ride the 'right' people may be in for...

Sure, but this degree of secrecy from other players is way more than usual here on uf.

EDIT: After unsuccessfully trying to find the correct default page I tried ftp and was asked for username and password.

Any hint would be appreciated.

I'm curious as to why the movie site is down (theinstitutemovie.com).

New and searching

Trying so desperately to figure out how exactly to become a "Member" on the Latitude website. Looked over and over on the 25 pages of this thread and just feel more and more lost. I would love to be part of something like this and if anyone out there can help I would greatly appreciate it!

I think the majority of us are feeling the same.

Having said that, there are some who know more than they are letting on and others that are being needlessly cryptic and throwing curve balls, to deliberately throw the rest of us off track imho.

Either that or the slow pace and building frustration is making me paranoid and distrusting, either is possible.

Just my opinion though.

I think it's more likely the game just hasn't hit full-swing yet. Several of us have searched around the city, downtown, the mission and "elsewhere", but have come across nothing obvious. Not to say that we couldn't have missed something, but I think it's more likely that there's simply nothing out there yet to miss. We probably just need some patience right now to balance out the vigilance...

Hey there, I am one of the many who found their way here through The Institute. I watched about two months ago and have been feverishly gobbling up everything I can find on the subject ever since. (wayback machine has been a great window into the past)
Something interesting I noticed while searching around the various clues here, I visited the closed Latitude Society google group website, poked around looked at the powerpoint they had. Then, I tried visiting again recently and the page has gone down. I'm a bit bummed as I was going to email them to see if any response came through.
I'm still trying to figure out if you need to be SF based and/or to have played through the Jejune experience to get in to this secret society. I've got more ideas and theories, but those are probably better suited for a blog post or something.
So, I'll be feverishly scouring this thread from over here on the east coast, hoping to be of some kind of help!

Latitude

Hello all. I've been creeping here for quite a while but have also done alot of investigating on my own. Finally made an account to start participating. I'm currently living in Philadelphia but I'm from Oakland originally.

As far as the film website being down.... Just a wierd thought but it may have to do with Burning Man? I know it sounds stupid, but look at where Burning Man got its origins and influence from and it will begin to make sense. Also a mantra of Burning Man is "leave no trace". Perhaps the site will be back?

Dont ask me how

Dont ask me how I got these but understand that it took a lot of work for me to do so. I am in LA, not in SF so I wont be able to take part in this but I hope that this helps you enjoy yourself as much as I wish I could..

If anyone gets a password to the website out of these clues I would really appreciate it for someone to reach out to me with it.

I am posting these spoilers here in the hopes that I can help you find what you are looking for. I hope I am not ruining the game for anyone and If anyone gets upset that I posted this here please let me know and I will remove it.

This seems to be from an old game, discussed here.
Elsewhere Philatelic Society
The poster is currently on their website (which is why I unspoilered your link), along with the other two pages.

Elsewhere Philatelic Society is not "part" of the old game. It is a group of participants of the Games of Nonchalance who were inspired to start their own endeavor.

EPS is unrelated to The Latitude Society. Which is not to say that you should not pursue membership in the EPS for its own value.

Chasing my tail
Provided Clues

I require assistance. Some of the information in these threads is to vague. I realize smart people are into ARGs, but I am not one of them, so I am asking for help.

1. Do I need to solve who EVERLEE TSAY is?
2. Is it dabblewood.com, or do I need to keep searching? I came up with Dreamworld.com, I do not think it is related.
3. The photo on Flickr (with the infamous number) has people which seem familiar, is there anything connected to this photo (even if it something they are looking at) I need to pay attention to?
4. Is this tied into Ingress?

I am not losing patience, but I am all over the place. I need to narrow my scope, it is hard to stay vigilant when your canvass is the world.

1. no, that is a real person who registered the website domain. He is not in-game.
2. that is the domain which a member here was hinting about, but it is the corporate entity used by the makers of the game. It is not in-game.
3. I'm not sure what image is being discussed, other than ones from an older game (or one created by fans). This game hasn't yet started, as far as I can tell.
4. no. Although a similar platform might be used in the future, Ingress has its own narrative. It is not in-game.

And so we return to waiting...
